    Quite a challenge making this proposal video especially with your fair ground rules but at least you didn’t have to forecast different political impediments 😆 Good job! I supervised the contractor-removal of catenary cable feeds along Eglinton West from Oakwood to the subway station in 1978 🤣 8:57

    I remember seeing the Flyer buses running on Bay Street. I was told that the motors in them were out of the old buses. They were so quiet and accelerated like snit.

    19:49 Idk how much you know about Wychwood barns but it's not an empty lot. There has been a lot of renovations made to the building with artists living in it. As a local park it sees a lot of use. Maybe the southern portion can be converted.

    The merging the 13 and 61 makes more sense as this is the plan once the LRT opens and make no need to termination at Eg

    Other cities have revived, from scratch, I believe, trolley bus networks. Rome did.

    Out of curiosity: do you plan to discuss any of the former Interurban routes or GO lines in the future?

      Yes I will at some point, its just there are so many topics I want to cover, I don't exactly have the greatest upload schedule and the issues with the Toronto Library at the moment do get in the way; but GO and the interurbans are on the list.

    Seeing at 4:45, do any Trolleybuses have an train crossings, not sure if the wires are high enough for double stack trains or they just don’t.

      I am not sure about other parts of the world but I believe that the 4 ANNETTE briefly had a level crossing with the tracks just west of Lansdowne. I know the DOVERCOURT streetcar once had a level crossing as well but this was before the era of double stack freight trains and now a days I would assume its not possible to have level crossings for Trolley buses and streetcars on lines that run double stacks.

    26:30. Actually my question was, why all the trolley bus routes don't extend to North York or Scarborough?

      Historically speaking its due to the lack of streetcars in North York and Scarborough. Since the network was built on top of old streetcar infrastructure the Trolley buses went where the streetcars did and that was largely in Toronto and York. Since neither North York, Scarborough, or East York had streetcars they never got any Trolley Buses.

    A very well put together proposal and I can only imagine what a system like this would be like today. I certainly do think about it every time I’m on one of Vancouvers numerous trolleybuses.
    The East York Danforth Division proposal makes sense to me as I take those buses often. They’re all relatively short routes on small streets. It’s a shame the TTC never actually converted any of these routes to trolleybuses but one can dream. If I was in charge of bringing back a trolleybus system a Danforth division is something I’d 100% invest in.

    Quite the interesting what-if scenarios! I don’t want to be so pessimistic on the return of trolleybus service in Toronto, though, as I surely hope some people at the TTC will be aware of the many benefits of trolleybuses as opposed to diesel buses (and the fleet of hybrid buses I now see on some routes).
    Let’s face it: If so much money was invested in two upcoming light rail transit lines, with all the catenary wires that came with them, I think there’s a way for the TTC to reinstate trolleybus service.
    Your what-if scenario at the Danforth Garage was surprising, but I can actually see trolleybuses operating from that garage to connect to other trolleys from other divisions. Besides, the routes you selected for the Danforth Garage make total sense, especially considering the ridership numbers you provided for the O’Connor, Mortimer, and Cosburn routes. And for the record, the Broadview bus now runs to Warden Station, thereby discontinuing O’Connor bus service along St. Clair Avenue East. (I’m not sure when this route change took effect, but it must have been during fall 2023.)

    This scenario looks amazing
    There are 2 routes That I expected in Danforth division that didn't show up
    The 70 used to run a branch all the way to Warden station, now covered by the 8 Broadview. Considering its original route was then converted to Trolleybus, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it for that section too.
    The 23 Dawes would also have been ideal in the scenario, since it's a short route that could easily be hooked into the network

      I did consider the branch of the 70 O'CONNOR to Warden but I was concerned about the height of the bus bays at Warden Station. If they are tall enough then conversion of the branch to Warden would be a valid option as well.

      I’m told the bus bays at Warden Station will soon be a thing of the past because the station will eventually become fully accessible. I suspect the bus platforms will look something like the current platforms at Victoria Park Station.
