Not only does this make great and engaging audio, but it also sounds like something that would be great for up and coming youtubers who might not be interested in searching for all the copyright free audio or couldn’t afford to pay for background music. Especially before the bass line on the final day, I think what you put together there sounded like some really great b-roll-esque music type of thing. Something really pleasant to perhaps go behind nature footage.
appreciate you saying so! :)
My man you bring up budget being an issue, but this would be one of the most overkill and pricy background music solution ever. The UA-cam free audio library is a thing remember.
7:08 Lol as a music producer myself i think its hilarious that pretty much all producers use presets and rarely make everything from scratch for each project, it take so long haha but its great to see someone making videos like this and diving into the area!
Yep lmao someone didnt tell Mike about Virtual Riot presets
virtual riot and kshmr are the backbones of modern electronic music lol
I think a lot of that is time lines / dead lines - and also the instant gratification of social media music hacks and such.
As someone who doesn't sell or release music I create - most of my gear actually doesn't have presets so I build things from scratch by necessity and its awesome.
But I 100% understand why people love presets / samples. It's music as both a passion and a job. If I had to make a song by 5PM tomorrow or a client would be angry - it's totally different :)
ah yes can't wait to go to one of your concerts in the future xd
hi! I’m subbed btw
I didn't thought this man can be here
pog champ lol
I don't want to make music, but want to press that buttons.
I have had the pleasure of pressing buttons like them, so squishy.
It’s a pricy squishy button matrix tho
7:55 Nostalgia just hit, 20 years of Pokémon as my hobby just clashed with one of my favourite content creators on the platform, absolute legend Mike
When I look up "how to live life to fullest" on Wikipedia, Mike's channel shows up.
Honestly, all of those “tracks” that you made could have been used in a lot of 8 bit games, I loved listening to them❤️
Alot of the actually already exists
Lol, about half way in to the video, all I could hear was the soundtrack to FTL.
he needs to get in touch with android game devs and market his content there I can see a lot of potential for his upbeat music getting used in retro platformers
Mike can become a dj in a week , all he has to do is make a challenge video out of it.
I have a Novation Circuit. Best standalone production device to get started with. You can make songs in seconds, so it’s perfect for those melodies stuck in your head. I used to use it daily, and after 2 years, I still use it weekly. Cool to see you using it!

Two minutes later, has two cables plugged in.
Probably just some power, and a way for his recording software to pick up the sound.
Yes, no cables NEEDED, but they can be used to improve the experience

I love this channel because it proves that you don't have to start at age 9 to learn and become proficient in new skills
I need to go back to music making, this thing would help a lot, thanks!
Thanks Allot, I had to buy one. Me and My son are enjoying it. New one came out a few days ago.
When Mike found "The sound" at 7:37 I thought "that sounds like a 25% duty cycle square wave. One could even produce that using a gameboy!!"
and turns out that was exactly the point ;-)
People having a gameboy should give Nanoloop a go!
I'm still waiting for Mike to put the music he made on Spotify
Ye
enjoyed every beat, good work dude
Every video Mike does seems to get more and more into the hobbies I like, I hope you keep doing these awesome videos man! (And you should try to learn how to Yoyo)
Imagine if he learned to use a loopstation with beatboxing sounds
Noice stuff you should learn FL studio next, the scale of what you can do if you learn it is so huge with an app like that
Yesss
He's already using ableton in the video, he might actually have some basic daw knowledge.
Amazing to see you do music stuff!
That's amazing man. Well done.
Mike: “Everything you hear in this video is from the circuit”
My brain to me: “so his voice is also from the circuit?”
Thought the title was, 7 days with the circus
That would make a great video
Geosquare's gonna be the one making that video
Love it. The circuit was one of the devices I picked up 4ish years ago when getting addicted to hardware music gear. It's by far (and its newer sibling the tracks) what I am the fastest on.
Enjoy it!
The gaps in between the squares (the center of every 4 squares that make 1 big one) are like that optical illusion where you can never see the dots

This thing is basically GarageBand on steroids
I would say quite the opposite 😅
@@DarkPeter steroids on Garageband?!?
Not really..... GarageBand is software and this thing is hardware so yeah... it’s the opposite
Garage band has more than this and it’s way easier I wouldn’t waste my money on this if it’s already on my phone
If you want to make music for legit free id say u pick up and daw like reaper or lmms which are both free or try more expensive daws like ableton or fl they cost more but you get what u pay for, and fl and ableton both have free trails
I really want one! I didn't know I really wanted one before I watched this video! I've always loved music and it would be so awesome if I could make my own. Thanks Mike!
You dropped some straight fire just two days in, crazy
Another one bites the dust! Yeahh still love the song.
Mike in 2022: "today we are going to be learning how to fly"
But that's simple, you just throw yourself at the ground and miss, granted the second part is tricky.
A little time saver for you: Provided you haven't opened Ableton as administrator, you can directly move samples in AND out from Ableton without having to go into folders or anything. For example with Splice, you can move a sample straight from splice, into your arrangement. With the cirquit, you can probably move samples straight from the arrangement or the browser into the sample thingy you used.
I make music myself, and must say, good work my man! Definitely not a tool for making a complete track, but great for getting the creativity flowing and putting down your ideas💪
Dude! Have you heard about Mike Shake?!
He makes similar content as you, learning new skills in short times.
He's name is also Mike and he also has a beautiful accent.
He copied Mike Boyd
@@mrmicro3183 instead of accusing content creators of having similar ideas, how about you focus on being more mature, since you obviously aren’t now
For one That was 2 months ago... who replies on 2 month old comments. And two Mike Shake did copy Mike Boyd. It’s not similar ideas. Shakes channel is entertaining and all but nobody can deny that he did copy Boyd. Both work very hard on their videos.
Edit: it wouldn’t be copying if Shake gave Boyd credit or recognition, but... Shake did not.
