I wanna entertain the idea that the title *Khuda and Muhabbat* suits Mahi more then Farhaad, I mean she is way more closer to Allah then baba Farhaad.

The ending of "Phaans" was good. The battle was more of Nadia then Zeba. Fighting against your motherly instincts and making sure justice is served. Standing against your family and your OWN son is one hell of a battle and Nadia set an great example. The drama was dragged but still ended on a strong note.
Shehzad Sheikh's performance was immaculate and will be remembered forever. I still have some questions regarding his mental state. But still ended on a strong note.

One thing to note is that our dramas unfortunately are showing men who can’t take rejection well, glorifying those characters and making them seem heroic. In KAM, Farhad couldn’t take rejection and started cursing Mahi. In the recent events that have happened in Pakistan, there have been a lot of cases where violence or worse - the killing of a woman has taken place because someone got rejected. I feel like more dramas should show men taking on rejection well and being gentle and in the end - MAYBE NOT GETTING MARRIED TO THAT GIRL OR DOING BETTER.
    Your thoughts ??

Also it would be nice to see people move on from relationships and build better futures and focus on themselves without a “bechara/bechari” factor attached and show them actually happy in their lives. Theres so much more to life than romance and marriage and also show REAL woman empowerment

I have faced no rejection but it is really difficult to get her. Because she accepted nikah with someone else at gun point....means do or die situation...and she also got beaten by her family due to me.
She loves me more than anything but I am still in a chance to get her and to make her life good.
Just want to empower her to take stand and make an example.
This is not only for me or her but this is the lesson for every girl or boy to take stand in a best way and end this sick old culture.

Can you guys please dedicate a Haute bites episode to the toxic masculinity normalized in the current dramas on air? This is particularly important with the pretty much daily cases we hear of the extreme violence against women in Pakistan. Recent examples being Noor Mukadam and Qurat ul ain. It is easy for producers and writers to ask the audience not to consider “dramas as a school” but research suggests media DOES affect and influence us.
Some examples of this extremely problematic toxic masculinity are:
1, Hamza saying to Dilnasheen: “Muhabbat main na haan hota hai”
2, Shahzaib in Ishq hai not taking no for an answer from Isra and literally blackmailing her at gun point to marry him.
Men like him are big babies who grow up entitled and consider women as objects. They can not handle a woman saying no to them and have no respect for her boundaries. This is NOT LOVE! THIS IS ABUSE!
3, Making such a problematic drama as Dunk where the woman has wrongly accused a man of sexual abuse and harassment! I mean what in the hell!!! Yes I am aware cases like this happen but women are being abused, tortured, killed and beheaded pretty regularly and we need to highlight that instead of bringing to light an anomaly!
The fact that the domestic violence bill was rejected and the PM normalized rape culture says it all.
I honestly can not watch Pakistani dramas because they are extremely triggering. It is so refreshing to see the educated, critical conversations you guys have. It’s MUCH NEEDED

    • @fahadn9464
      @fahadn9464 3 роки тому

It’s called a drama. It’s sole job is to entertain not spread your activism. We have social workers, NGOs, and protests for that. You say that men being falsely accused happens but then negate that fact in favor of women. If you truly cared you wouldn’t have a problem with that drama since it does address an issue in society just like Phaans addresses another issue in society. Plus the PM did not normalize rape culture and his words were taken extremely out of context. He wry clearly stated that if a woman is raped it is solely the fault of the perpetrator. What he meant was if you walk down a bad neighborhood at night waving around a gold necklace and stacks of money and you get robbed obviously it’s not your fault or you don’t deserve to get robbed but you need to be smart. That’s what he meant by his words. Your problem is that you use dramas and think that’s reality. While some dramas do depict reality they are NOT reality. Most of these dramas as you said are anomalies and according to you we should ignore those.

Phaans: Good monologue by Sahil. A boy who sees an abusive father, would become the same. The mentality that women are supposed to be submissive to men. Mentality that men being superior, have the right to shout and hit them, but the wife has no right to question the actions of her husband. Secondly, misuse of physical power, the superiority of physical anatomy. These two factors lead to crimes against women, not the dressing or temptation by them. If the man has money and position, the crime becomes easy to hide. This is what Sahil learnt and took advantage of. Couldn’t help thinking about the Noor case, while watching the last episode. A good end showing punishment.

That is why I LOVED Ghisi Piti Mohabbat......crappy men were present in that drama as well but the way Samiya and other females dealt with those toxic males was the highlight of the show.........Riz cheated on Samiya but that didn't make Samiya cheat on Riz in retaliation.....her values and integrity remained intact and she left Riz despite loving him so much..........on the other hand, this creature Dilnashin is a product of the Zanjabeel chirya ghar where her ulta dimagh comes up with this brilliant idea to cheat on her husband if she is accused of cheating.............no mind of her own, no values or integrity to hold on to..............its like she is aping her loser husband...........'aap cheat karenge tou mein bhi karungi............' And then comes Mr.Confused-and-Characterless Haider who loves playing the victim and is still in denial about the fact as to how big of a scumbag he really is.........he holds a torch for Mehmil, conveniently hangs out with her, takes her to a hotel and books a room for Mrs. Haider, prefers to take Mehmil out for her 'important errand' rather than his wife for shopping.....all of this right under the nose of his wife who rightfully deserves his exclusive attention and love.........later on his 'mardaangi' takes an 'angraaee' and his 'ghairat' gets up from a coma when he gets suspicious of Dilnashin cheating on him........the 'mardaangi' thrives further when he yells at her right in front of his ex-flame and mother and reaches its peak when he slaps his wife.......taaaliaaann for the 'manliness' of Mr.Richie-Rich! Then we come across another 'shahkaar', Mr.Hamza who is a loser in a different avatar, wasting his life and health after his ex-girlfiend......earlier perhaps I thought he respects Dilnashin but now his true colors have come out where he sees her as an object of ownership......seriously I miss Samiya of Ghisi Piti Mohabbat........wohh hoti tou Haider aur Hamza ko bhi Riz aur Basharat jaisaa sabaq sikhaati and these losers would have been left to lick their wounds.....Zanjabeel Asim should take a bow for further poisoning our already poisonous minds......its because of her that we are made to believe that husbands should be forgiven even if they cheat on you and slap you and also a lover is Hamza is 'to-die-for'......his 'intensity' and 'passion' makes the girls swoon and go bonkers.....thank you Ms. Asim, aapke dimagh ka 'fitoor' puree quom ke dimagh ka fitoor ban chuka hai

Most irrational and strange things happen in our dramas:
PSM: Zainab prefers to die instead of showing Sikandar’s blackmail message to Rakhshi’s dad to stop the wedding. 😌
Sikandar , another nakaam aashiq loses senses and would probably head towards a mazaar to become a dancing baba. Soon people would ask him to make dua like our Feedi . 😊 The KNOW ALL, baba with divine power and enlightenment, in KAM3 , does not know that hurting parents is a sin, and never asks Feedi to go meet and take care of his parents.

Did anyone notice that moment when Akram touched the deceased Zainab's feet when Murad wasn't looking? As though he's seeking her forgiveness for ruining her life, but doesn't want Murad to see and feel bad about it. That was such a powerful and nuanced moment. I wish Hassan and Aamna had noticed it and commented upon it.
Zainab needed to die for the story to become meaningful. If a woman lives happily ever after after being forcefully married to a man she does not like and emotionally and physically abused by almost everyone in her life, then the message will be that no matter how much you torture someone, it's ok if she's finally happy in those circumstances. It's a messed up message that goes against what the show is trying to say. She needed to die for everyone to truly reflect on and regret their actions towards her - yes, even Murad. Her children are anyway invisible so they don't matter. She needed to die so people realize they shouldn't marry off their daughters (and sons) to random strangers against their wishes - especially if they are in love with someone else.
From a storytelling point of view, Zainab's death was essential to move along the plot of PSM, and give it emotional depth and a powerful message

    Happy Belated Birthday Hassan!
Fitoor: I agree with everything you guys said in the review. DN's mockery, deliberately trying to put Hamza in the negative light so we wouldn't want DN to go to him... deliberately making Haider "bechara" so we sympathise with him....
My complaint is that they're not showing ANYTHING re: Mehmal being responsible for bringing Hamza back in DN's life. She's happily watching the aftermaths of the fire she lit and not being harmed at all for her devious and calculating moves!! Usually, at least we're shown some sort of 'karma' for the negative character... but here she's still sitting in Haider's house!!
And I was FURIOUS when Haider said to Mehmal "aurat jab dhitayee pe utar aaye...." (when DN laughed on the phone in the balcony and these two were sitting near the pool)
Oh Bhai, duniya ki sabse dheet aurat tumhare saamne baithi hai!!!

Besides the fact that it was sad to see Zainab die, it made complete sense in terms of drama. Zainab was shown to be a character suppressed and deprived of her own desire and wish and because of the situation that happened during her marriage, she is now unable to show love for her husband and at the same time husband is unable to trust her love. The continuous tension created so much pressure on her health and mind that it took her life. This is supposed to be a lesson for parents/ guardians not to pressurize their kids so much that they feel suffocated. You guyz missed to discuss the fact that Akram touched her sister's feet after death ... showing he wants apology from her for what he did to her.

It is good to hear that you have finally embraced Phaans. I agree with you this was a phenomenal ending that stayed true to the trajectory of the series as a whole. It is full to the brim with firsts for Pakistani TV, it has a progressive and positive message that remains consistent but what makes it truly groundbreaking is that it emerges from a landscape full of mediocre nonsense like Fitoor, KAM, Raqs e Bismil, Raqeeb Se, Mohlat, etc, all same old same old. Phaans gave us a mother whose love for her son wasn't bigger than her love for justice and truth and a mother who overcame her fear of society to support her daughter. It gave us a sister who didn't keep supporting a brother who was a monster and a sister who saw the error of her ways and had the courage to admit it. All women standing up in their own ways. It also gave us Samad who is a hero and exemplary male not only for Pakistan but around the world. He is not perfect, he had doubts and fears in the beginning but overcame them not for 'mohabbat' but for truth and justice. Through Zeba and Samad we see a platonic friendship on-screen between a man and a woman that is based on a common fight to clear each other's names. Samad knows how to listen and believe Zeba, he knows how to follow her in her decisions even if they turn out to be wrong. He knows how to support from in front, beside, and from the background. He is steadfast, kind, strong, and sensitive. Samad risks his reputation, his relationship with society including his mother to do the right thing before any pyar/mohabbat developed. This is unprecedented in a drama and has been largely ignored by you. If you are looking for a Pakistani hero for this time, it is Samad.
I don't really understand the cries of 'drag' in this drama. I felt parts of the story were designed to move the plot forward and some were designed to delve into character and relationships. We might not have liked Zeba's sister but she represents the dominant views in our society. In we find Hashim is the bravest portrayal of our society as a whole. We are all so shocked and we asked how could Hashim have watched a girl get raped??? Aren't we all?? We turn a blind eye to the bottom pinching, breast touching, street harassment of women every day. We watch women being mistreated by their families and say nothing? is it really that surprising that Hashim didn't have the courage to stand up to evil and save Zeba. research shows that most people walk away from violent crimes as they don't want to be witnesses. Phaans has told an ugly truth and thank god they did. Well done to all involved. This drama should be subtitled in English so that it can be shared with the world.

I really like the ending of Phaans. it's core theme was portrayed really well. there was a scene when Sahil was entering the jail cell and he looked up at the fan. I thought they were gonna ruin the ending by having Sahil's character commit suicide. I'm so happy they didn't go that route. And just like you guys said, so so glad they didn't have Sahil go to a Mizaar, or made him crazy or something like that. That is one thing I don't like about most of our dramas, that instead of having an evil character go through redemption or pay for their sins, the writers just have the character go insane or die at the end. so glad they didn't do this in Phaans.

That would have made at least some sense to the story. The storytelling could have been much better.

Please! I made the biggest mistake of watching fitoor. The doctor just diagnosed the lady with a thirty cm tumor in her brain!!!

OMG!!! Who has a head as big as this lady?? Why do we accept and encourage such obnoxiously insane, idiotic writing?? Whenever there is a medical issue, can the drama creators (writer, director, producer, actor team) can be consulted for a logical diagnoses

Well done shahzad sheikh a big shout out for him transforming in a villain character 👏 Phaans gave a good message that how you brought up your kid's always keep an eye 👁 on the children see point out how there behavior is if shaiky then u must be on a watch out elert and if he or she's is wrong u should never ignore rather try to solve the issue's and teach them whats right whats wrong. Loved Arjumand ❤ was fabulous ❤. Zeba did justice to her character 👏.

Guys, I think it's your responsibility as critics or just consider it my request that you should stop reviewing Khuda aur Muhabbat! It has a pathetic story line. It doesn't deserve all the views it's getting. Maybe, if you guys stop reviewing it, some of your viewers get affected and stop watching too. Btw, Happy birthday Hassan!🥳🥳💖

On point about Fitoors review, exact reasons why I stopped watching it. It’s so ridiculous what they did with the character.

Tbh in real life as well. Ap pasand kryge tou you will see such things most of the time. And the reason is the communication barrier between parents and their kids. That's one of the reason of suicide as well.

Aslam should refuse to marry rakhshi now. She's the reason all this happened. Aslam stood up to his family, broke off his engagement, got a good thrashing from his brother, rakhshi couldn't even stand up to her father. He got beat up by sikander twice, betrayed him when she didn't show up after planning to elope. She betrayed him every single time, he fought everyone right till the end, involved his sister who is now dead cz of the pain she had to endure. Hasan why do you think she deserves aslam now? She doesn't deserve a guy like aslam who destroyed himself for the selfish girl. I hope aslam will realize this after losing his sister and marry his beautiful cousin who he dumped for this roni soorat

Hassan you are so true. A person’s reality comes forth when you are tested in a difficult situation. A chivalrous person would invariably never stoop to such criminal behavior.

Aamina and Hassan, yet another amazing show as always. I would like to make a request today. If possible, though sounding far fetched, could you people possibly do a Haute Byte on the impact of different characters in our society and its possible connection to heinous crimes being committed in our country currently. Like how does the portrayal of women lend to mysogeny and patriarchy which develops roots, which are so strong that they aid to the occurance of such crimes. Would love to hear your point of view,
