Thank you thank you thank you! My mom passed away 20 years ago, she was an avid cross stitcher and had started a stocking for my younger brother that she never got to finish. I was able to finish the cross stitching part, but had no idea how to turn it into a stocking. I followed your video and it turned out perfectly! It’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever made and I can’t wait to give it to him! Thank you so much!
Brittany, I am so thrilled to hear that you that you were able to fully finish the stocking for your brother! This comment has made my whole year!! Thank you so much for posting. Merry Christmas! 🎄🤶🎅❤️☃️
Thank you so much! I’m nearly done cross stitching a stocking for my grandson, having finished the stitching on his big sister’s stocking earlier this year. Your video is helping my confidence in actually putting the stockings together!
@@susankarnesky2497 it is always wonderful to reading these messages! I know they will be thrilled to have them fully finished for this year. Merry Christmas!
I finished my stocking yesterday. I'm still on a high! I am not a sewer, so the finishing part intimidated me to the point I procrastinated it until this close to Christmas. I made it for my first grandchild. I wanted him to have something to remember how much I love him. I followed every step of your wonderful tutorial & I just want to THANK YOU so so much for making this video. I could not have completed this without you, lady! THANK YOU AGAIN.
I am getting ready to finish a stocking by Plum Street Samplers Olga’s Autumn Stocking and wasn’t sure how to do the inside of the stocking with lining. Now I know how! Thank you!!!! This is such a great help and need to refinish stockings I did for me and my family years ago that I never lined. I’m going to be busy 😁 Nice video and your stockings look so pretty stitched up and finished😊
So glad you found the video and can get those stockings fully finished. I am almost complete with my 3rd stocking so another fully finished stocking is in my future. 🪡🪡🪡
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’ve watched over and over again for a few months and finally felt brave enough to begin. So far so good! You explain things very well and take the anxiety out of making a mistake. It’s all fixable!
I've never done cross stitch, but a friend asked me to finish a Christmas stocking she did. I looked everywhere for a tutorial and yours was definitely the easiest and simplest. It was encouraging to me that you left your little mistakes in. I'm no where near a professional either. Great video.
That was very satisfying to watch! Great job, you explained things very well, and I think that should I ever decided to try something of this magnitude, I could do it! For me, it's always that I ran out of bobbin thread. Every. Time. I have complained more than once, that I think it should be required of manufacturers to put an alarm on them that would go off when the bobbin runs out. 🙂
I am glad you enjoyed the video Katrina. I don’t worry too much about running out of thread. I just stitch over the last stitches and go on! You cannot tell that I restarted the seam. Merry Christmas! Jacque 🎄🎄🎄
@@CrossMyStitches Yes I do as well, it's just very frustrating when I sew for 5 minutes and then realize that I've really not been sewing at all because my bobbin ran out a long time ago, lol
You should absolutely do more tutorials. This was perfect ! I recommended this to a friend who is doing her first stocking. I loved the fact that you explained each step as you did them. A sign of an excellent instructor. Well done and I look forward to other tutorials. Beautiful stocking and Merry Christmas.
Thank you Eva! So sweet of you to say. It had been a while since I did the last stocking and I was just winging it! 🤣🤣🤣. Merry Christmas my friend. 🎄🤶🎅🎄
I just wanted to say thank you! Finished my stocking this morning, the twisted metal cording my son chose was a nightmare but managed it thanks to your video!❤
Thank you for a great tutorial. I have stitched 3 Gold Dimensions stockings some years ago and now I have just finished another one. I had your video playing while I finished the latest stocking. It worked out perfectly. Thank you again.
Thank you for this nice video! I have stitched 6 Shepherd's Bush stockings and this is the year I am finishing them. Your Floss tube was really helpful. I didn't do piping but I had decided to put Shapflex on all four pieces, then I saw your use of it and I felt good about my decision. Your stockings are beautiful! Thank you!
I did not use interfacing, but you certainly could. I do spray starch mine so it makes the lining crisp. Thank you for watching and hope you were able to get your stocking completed!
Real life stitching with Jacque! I also have a Janome and some non-Janome feet, and use the wrong foot and know it😅 Thanks I’m sure I’ll watch again when the other 3/4 of my stocking is stitched🤣🤣
Yes you can. I lay down a nice fluffy white towel on my ironing board with my piece face down on top. Use a pressing cloth or piece of cotton fabric over the backside of your piece and the interfacing and press the interfacing on. The interfacing should have instructions for temperature and do not leave your iron in one place for too long. I have not had a problem with beads melting and you may need to go over the piece several times. I hope this helps. Jacque

So years later, great resource stocking tutorial! I watched several and took pieces/hints from each. Thanks ❤

Awesome! So glad you found it helpful. 😁
Thank you for sharing! The idea of finishing one is much less intimidating now.
I am glad to hear finishing will be a little less intimidating to you. You can do it!!
I'm wondering if I need to wash & dry the fabrics (not the cross stitch) before making?
I did not.
very helpful video, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this video! Wanted to know if you used interfacing for the lining too and if so which weight did you use?
I did not use interfacing, but you certainly could. I do spray starch mine so it makes the lining crisp. Thank you for watching and hope you were able to get your stocking completed!

Yeah, feet are listed as universal, but sometimes not so much! Glad you found the video helpful and good luck on getting that stocking finished.
I’m a super new beginner.. my stocking has beads on it. Can I iron interfacing on with beads? Or do something different?
Yes you can. I lay down a nice fluffy white towel on my ironing board with my piece face down on top. Use a pressing cloth or piece of cotton fabric over the backside of your piece and the interfacing and press the interfacing on. The interfacing should have instructions for temperature and do not leave your iron in one place for too long. I have not had a problem with beads melting and you may need to go over the piece several times. I hope this helps. Jacque
@@CrossMyStitches thank you!!
You are so talented! Do you finish stockings for other people?
I only finish my own projects. Thank you for watching. 😁
