Dude I just found this channel and I love it, I love the structure and format, every episode is interesting, you guys seem awesome, keep up the great work
In my opinion, James wins. Getting Edge of Tmr, Fallout, Color of Money, Minority Report & Ghost Protocol is what won me over & I think he chose Risky Business a little too early. If he would have chose Collateral over RB, he would have wrapped it up way earlier. But Anthony also had some bangers, I just haven’t seen some of the ones he picked. But with Tom there’s no wrong answers!
It was no contest for me, James won. I have loved Tom Cruise films since I was a kid. I find it hard to pick one film, but I love Jerry Maguire, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Edge of Tomorrow, Risky Business, Far and Away, Minority Report, and Collateral.
Man, you gotta tell me what's up with walking backwards in The Shining. Wendy gets the best of Jack on the staircase by walking backwards and then hitting him. She outsmarts him by dragging him backwards into a locker. Wendy further outsmarts Jack by retreating, moving backward, into a room then back into a bathroom then pushing Danny back out a window. Danny outsmarts Jack by walking backwards across his own footprints. There is something about "going back" or "retreating" that seems to defeat Jack, be his weakness. What's up with that? I see you two as masters of the art of film. My style is "conspiracy theory." I'm not asking you to adopt my style, I'm asking you to argue for it as a creative exercise. Even if it's total bullshit, if you were in a debate and you were arguing for the idea that, somehow "going back" seems to defeat Jack from Kubrick's The Shining, how would you creatively, metaphorically, explain why that's a thing that makes sense in that movie? Going back defeats Jack. Like an improv game, what's your argument that explains that?
I said I will just vote for whoever picks Interview with the Vampire (my all time fave movie) but with Magnolia and Eyes Wide Shut in the lineup too, James stands no chance 😂
Tom Cruise is everyone’s moms favourite movie star!! He’s everyone’s favourite movie star, actually, even if you deny it. Great episode!! Love how you keep interweaving content!
My favourite film of his has got to be Collateral! A different role for him and he knocked it out of the park! **side note, I got to meet him in 2013 and he’s just as cool as people think - was lucky enough to get a poster signed too!
I finally watched Eyes Wide Shut this year and it blew my hair back as Jim would say lol. Tom is amazing in it. Have you guys heard of the conspiracy theory that Stanley Kubrick was killed after he made this because it was based on a real group? It’s interesting to think about
Loved this. I’ll say a lot of people that I have watched react to watching all the mission impossibles. 3 is very high up on their list. Vanilla sky is amazing. Also - rain man is his most underrated performance. Watch it again and watch how much of an asshole his character is in the first half of the movie then he transforms and you are almost in tears for him by the end. That is an arch and that is a performance.
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ I am watching this again. I think as much as people love love Fallout it's still underated! The story and script are great. The action and stunts in this fit better and there are more tent pole style stunts in this one than any other 2 misison impossibles combined. (I think)
This kind of friendship is exactly what I’m looking for in a podcast. Subscribed! Unfortunately it took James too long to guess Batman Forever. Unsubscribed!

I think the Firm is an underrated tom cruise film.

Tom cruise has the best hair cut in mission impossible 2
Mission Impossible 3 & Knight and Day would have been my sleeper late round picks
When Anthony chose TG Maverick I thought it was over until… James countered with MI Fallout ☢ This is going to be epic

Tom Cruise is always been two steps ahead. Look at his filmography, and look at all the directors he’s worked with speaks for itself.
