  • We revisit a ride we did last year and some of it has changed. Someone has misplaced a bunch of trees. The upside is new views, but that's about it.

I'm surprised that the group didn't at least walk up to the top of the powerlines viewpoint. The GSA has easily gotten to the top, but it does require a level of commitment. Well done Scott!

some familiar trails . wish I could have made that ride. I have mixed feelings about the amount of logging and the way it is managed . great production quality by the way

Crazy that over and over we hear about saw/pulp mills being shut down on account of a lack of fibre while at the same time, raw logs are shipped in massive quantity overseas for processing. Somebody has lost the plot. Nice riding video, I'm going to have to drag my bike out on our next visit to The Island.

Great ride, great company, great day. It's what dualsport is all about!

I had a bittersweet ride like this not too long ago, the dual track up to Secret Lake is now a dirt highway in some sections. I have a video of me doing the climb last October and it was a bit of a challenge, but now they connected the trail to another popular area so it will be more travelled now.

I remember that hill at the 19:10 mark from last year. I tried twice but did not make it. Hopefully I'll get another chance this year.

Forestry for profit isn't going to stop, so we have to do what we can, as a community, to ensure best practices. Without the FSRs, we wouldn't have such easy access to the backcountry. It really is a double-edged sword that we wield and enjoy. I am, however, totally against old growth logging (just putting this out there).

But is riding through clear cuts really enjoying the back country? If there's one thing I miss about living in northern BC is the abundance of back country access that is not due to logging, thus no gates to worry about.
