4:26 I see four screws that seem to be for attachment, but they look rusty, so I'm not sure if that was just added on for something else or if it's part of the installation package. It doesn't seem like vertical screws would be for attaching to a pipe anyway, so it looks like it's maybe a two piece plastic mounting base plate.

Mine got run over by some unknown probably drunk driver, but at least it collected part of his bumper, left laying in the driveway along with my mailbox, so he paid a price😅 The aluminum locking mailbox held up, so I'll just remount it. I'm going to use a cinder block pillar I had left over so it should be sturdy.

How is the plastic mounting base attached to the top part of the post? Is it just glued on?

How far into the ground did you go?
Thanks for watching, that will depend on the exact mailbox kit you purchased however if we remember correctly…we put our pole 12” into ground. 👍
