Don't know about most of the triangular-grip pens, but you're stuck with the handholding angle of the pen unless you are able to adjust/twist the nib inside the section. You *can* do this with the Pilot Kakuno, but you cannot with the Lamys. This is an important consideration if you have an unusual writing style. Also, increased grip can be felt with thicker sections. You could try out an inexpensive Jinhao 149, which has a very thick section, to see if you like that. (Personally I love it.)
This is an odd suggestion, but Lamy ABC... Sure, it's intended for children just learning to write, but the grip section is absolutely the grippiest grip section I have ever gripped. I hope you're ok with wood, happy colors and very practical design.
I whish Lamy Safaris/Al Stars would have the normal/circular grip. I have the triangular, sometimes I feel like it’s not perfectly centered. Don’t know, I hold them “properly” but still bothers me that I can’t spin them a little bit. Just have this feeling that they have nothing to lose by making the grip circular and attend to a broader base.
The Lamy Safari and the Kaweco sport work best for me. The Lamy because the molded grip just feels perfect for the way I hold my pen and the Kaweco because it’s so light and the grip so small that I can just easily hold it without bearing down too hard. I tend to hold my pens close to the nib. I bought a Lamy 2k and but my fingers always end up on the silver part, and it’s just too slick. Plus the barrel feels too big for my small hand. That’s another thing to consider.

Yeah, that's definitely a good option. - Colin
Besides the S.S. Studio, there's also the LAMY Accent rubber grip version for those who want a non-metal grip section.

I’m wondering if there’s like a hack people do to get a better grip like put some kind of tape or something over the original grip section
@@magnoliamike There's rubber grip tape, idk if it's commonly used in fountain pens tho
@@WhenDoesTheVideoActuallyStart can you please tell me the brand?

went with Lamy Safari strictly because I hold with 3 fingers and need a good grip for long writing sessions.
