Consider this - Papyrus was able to fight with the power of Sans, a buffed version of himself, AND Undyne, all while PERFECTLY mimicking the kind of banter you would normally expect from them... Holy shit, papyrus is a damned god.

This just reminded me of Undertale: Belief. Did you know that they released an unofficial Sans fight for it? It’s a bit buggy and was scrapped because the creators moved to a different game engine, but it does exist.

He would regret not having tried stopping you sooner, not staying with you to make sure you had changed, not having tried helping his friends and the random monsters you killed rampantly. As a Royal Guardsman, he wouldn't be happy, because it would have cost his old friends for the position. He would gain the respect of the monsters (assuming they think Papyrus fought the human after the king's death). However, not matter what, some monster would hate him for not doing the things he already regretted not doing sooner. No matter what happens, Papyrus doesn't get a happy ending. He would be happy, but depressed like Alphys. They would probably be friends, but not see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, resulting in a very awkward relationship. This is, assuming Alphys also hasn't committed suicide. I see your point, and honestly, it only makes me want it more.

Obviously he has sans's blasters and he later manifest copies of sans and undyne but on top of that he also, uses not just blue attacks but also orange something that as far as I'm aware neither skeleton brother normally uses, he's able to block attacks kind by using his bone constructs similar to undyne's blue soul mode, he uses sans's cut away fake out attacks and even 1 ups sans's usual battle box trickery, he even seemingly has either a mastery of his bullet patterns or more likely some sort of illusions given that he can make the player see Sans and undyne implying he's doing his own versions of their attacks while also disguising them using illusions and maintaining conversations with the fakes all while also using his own attacks at the same time, papyrus is seemingly a master of learning/imitating other monster's attack patterns and multitasking to the point that when he's focused he can sustain effect lying cloning the dead with their exact attacks and fairly accurate personalities for as long as he can keep himself distracted from remembering they are fake. Honestly I want to see a fan phase where we see him fully utilize this rapidly throwing friendliness pellets fire magic blues and oranges spears bones swords and more taking the same kind of impressive mimicry (and not just copying but also building and improving off of others and even Comboing attacks) to make the player's life hell. Papyrus's skill apparently isn't his bone constructs or blue attacks at all but his ability to learn the abilities of other monsters just by observing and to then be able to make his own effective imitations of those abilities even using illusions to make his versions identical in appearance to the originals.
I forgot to mention. Not only does he 1 up sans's battle box trickery he also 1 uos Sam's with the rest of the ui, sans has bones on the buttons instantly showing his full hand as playing with every trick he knows to secure a win meanwhile papyrus waits till you select heal THEN uses a bone attack undoing your healing and he also replaces all your times and he even doubles your hp later meanwhile the only time sans ever messes with ho is the fact that his attacks damage you the full amount of time your in them instead of ending when your hit and his karma both of eich papyrus also uses

Would be pretty cool if you replaced continued phases with something related to disbelief papyrus, maybe even reaction to trailer of believe papyrus, where he actually once killed us (or at least I think so), but anyways this was a great reaction
