Perfect timing for the newest episode! I love watching these while I'm at work and it's been a SLOW and boring day but few better ways to help with that than a new Dr. Mick!
Hi DrMick! Heavy episode indeed. What you said about family abuse deeply resonated with me. Logically I think I understand what happens but emotionally all I feel is rage. I had a family member who was in that kind of relationship. She would leave, sometimes for months at a time, and then she would go back. To this day I still pound my head against the wall (figuratively) and scream in my head “why! why do you go back!” The topic makes me so angry, because on some level I feel so helpless and I don’t understand.

If this counts as backseat gaming then I'll accept it but at 1:19:19 you can kick them if you hold down the heavy attack button/once you have that technique purchased. Not sure if it works on the coasts but it for sure works in the ponds & rivers.
Hey! I know this game suggestion may not be your general style, but the Danganronpa series is absolutely RIPE with stuff to talk about from a therapists point of view
45:45 "This guy actually came with I guess some desire to converse with us about this".. I can't help but feel like you consistently project diplomatic intentions on to the Mongols that really isn't there.. This guy literally shows up and says "You have defied the Khan's will, surrender or we will burn everything".. That's not a feckin' diplomatic olive branch, that's a threat.. The Mongols are not here to negotiate, they are here to subjugate.. Sure, if they surrender they may (or may not) be spared and their homes may (or may not) be left in tact, but that doesn't mean that the alternative is prefereable.. I think your emphasis on survival at any cost, regardless of the conditions under which you will have to survive is a little naive and misplaced.. There are many things worse than death.. Would you recommend slaves to not revolt against their oppressors because they may get killed from doing so?.. Would you recommend women or children to not attempt escaping from s*x-trafficing because they might get killed if they get caught?.. Diplomacy is the best options when both sides actually want to end the conflict.. But right now the Mongols have the upper hand and the idea that the Samurai can negotiate a good peace deal with them at this point in time is naive beyond belief, especially when you take into account the cultural mindset of the Mongols at this particular time in history.. They are a warrior culture, they believe in might makes right..
Norio's storyline reminds me of what Rains Fall said in RDR2: "Even sacred things are just things. People are what matter."
