Graphite pencils AND the Holy Bible?! Yes, please. That combination will get a sub from me ten times out of ten. You're a man after my own heart.

Pencils as travel souvenirs. I like your collection. Thanks for sharing it with us, Barry

Thank you so much! They are a nice cheap way to remember a trip or visit. I usually buy at least two of the same pencil wherever I travel to or attraction I visit - one to keep as a souvenir and one to use.

I love pencils! That’s actually how I got started in the stationery hobby. I am a collector and user and I prefer vintage pencils, although you can find many pencils today that will fill your needs. I just prefer the feel and look of pencils that are much older. I have one that is over 100 years old that I use!

    Hey, me too!
I have many beautiful cedar cased Faber Castel dating back to the 1950s & 60s that belonged to my mum.
Of my working pencils, my favourites are Russian graphite Koh i Noor Toisson D'Or, near impossible to get, & Chinese graphite Japanese Mitsubishi Uni. I buy these in bulk.
Mars Lumograph are now heavily silica contaminated. Made cheap in Brazil then shipped to Germany to have the cases painted, thus qualifying them for made in Germany status.
My favourite long point sharpener by far, is a Japanese made Carl Angel 5. It produces a "hollow grind", if you know what that means, the points last forever. (The Chinese made copy is rubbish). & of course the German Kum 2 stage long point sharpeners with their magnesium blades that last forever.
I also love Tombow Mono erasers, both round & square.
I like to use various hot pressed 100% cotton watercolour surfaces that I buy in full Imperial sheets 76cm x56cm that I use full size, or tear down to suit. Its archival, (non acidic), & have different grain & "tooth" characteristics.....Australia.

I’m kinda obsessed with pencils and use only pencils to write in my notebook. So very pleased with your video! It was really inspiring to see few pencils from my collection, because I’m from Ukraine and also collect pencils from different countries time to time! Have a hope that you will do few more vids about pencils in near future! Keep it up!

"Brown - Veel" is the best way I can describe how to pronounce that first Dutch pencil.

Ah splendid, thank you! I remember hearing someone pronounce it year's ago, but I completely forgot :)

Hi, Barry! I love pencils and am always trying new ones. It would be hard for me to pick a single favorite. If it's a pencil, I want to try it out and most likely will love it! Although I especially love wood cased pencils, I also have some favorites when it comes to mechanical. The Zebra M301 .07 is the one I use in my Bible. I also love the Pentel 205, 207 and 209 mechanicals. If you're going to use a wood cased pencil then you need a good sharpener. I prefer a long point hand sharpener. My favorite is the Apsara Long Point Sharpener. I buy them by the box of 20 from Amazon. I do like the Blackwing pencils, I'm just not a fan of cost. You have to admit they are quite pricy! Thanks for the video. I enjoyed seeing your collection.

You're very welcome! There's so many to choose from, it's easy to accumulate a load of them over time :) I have a Pentel as well I think; not sure of the model. I use the Apsara's too; they are the best for long point! Re Blackwings: agreed, they are expensive, but really are superb pencils.

I’m also obsessed with pencils. I have around 500. Pencils are my 100% edc. I alternate 1 per week. I numbered them and randomly choose a number. I do love fountain pens as well but mainly for ink sketching.
    Awesome video
I love those leuchtturm pencils. I think Viarco makes them if I’m not mistaken. Also recommend by the way. Big fan of the yellow Viking ones too.

That is all fantastic!! 500! and numbering with random selection use certainly keeps things fresh each week - great idea!. I'll checkout Viarco.
