Justin, Rebekah, Jonah, Josiah, Lilly, Gideon and little Henry, I wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate your channel and all of the love and sacrifices that you put into making it so enjoyable. Your hard work, creativity, ingenuity and family love leaves me inspired and better off for having watched your videos. May you all have a glorious Christmas season and a wonderful New Year. Onward! 🙏❤️👍🎄
Lilly in her white dress and apron is toooo cute! Looking like a cottage princess! So happy she is finally getting her dream of a horse, I’ve been waiting since the day Rabekah posted on instagram that she got it for the video on it!
So so so thankful for you, Justin and Rebecca for opening up your lives for people like myself to learn and develop life skills. I’m from Australia and have just started my first straw bale vegetable garden, heres hoping I don’t have to go to the grocery store for vegetables this summer! ❤
Justin, keep in mind. the more low carb you are, the bigger the reaction to carbs when you eat them. I have seen 300 from a small piece of pie. I have also been diabetic since 12. I use no insulin because I am militant about carbs. less than 15 grams per day
Lilly, you look wonderful! Yes you all look good, but Lilly looks awesome (and she does have a special place in my heart). I can't wait to get peaches home. That little girl has waited so long I hope the horse is everything she hoped for! I can't wait for the next vlog to see!
Love your dancing Mr. Rhodes. I go to senior aerobics twice a week for an hour and dancing just lifts the soul. God bless your learning about blood sugars.
Hi.... Justin Rhodes and Rebecca beautiful watching your video you all are enjoying happy family thanks 😊 you for showing your video homestead chicken duck goose farmer garden 🐔🐓🐣🐤🍗🦆🐶🐕🦮🐈🐑🐄🐖🐷🐝 BYE 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
I cheated a little on Thanksgiving too. I had a stuffing muffin and some corn. I can stick to the carnivore until.......I make homemade flour tortillas for my daughter. Then I only have one out of the 12 I make for her. I am glad you all had a great dinner. Hugs and blessings always
Blessings to you and the whole extended family. Hoping everyone watching takes a moment to realize we see tiny little snippets of your life. So many people have so much to cope with in these times that (for me at least) its helpful to know others are dealing with stuff-every day. Thank you for sharing.
Having a big spike after eating, especially a carb or sugar heavy meal, is normal. How fast it comes back down is what you need to be focusing on, and it looks like it comes back down pretty quickly. When you eat and your blood sugar goes up it kicks your pancreas into gear to start producing insulin to bring that blood sugar back down. If you have type 2 diabetes it means you don't make an adequate amount of insulin, or that your body is unable to adequately use what you produce, and so your sugars will remain elevated for a longer period of time.
I'd be interested to know what Rebekah's blood sugar is 2 hours after a big meal. I think we all have a spike after eating. Happy Thanksgiving and I hope Lily has success with her new horse!
Thank you! Justin… no! The whole Rhodes Family you’re awesome! I’m so excited Miss Lily is getting her horse. I hope I haven’t missed a video. I keep looking for it. Bless you all!❤🥰❤
Your up and down spikes are ok. 200 after dinner is great. Check with the doctor. After you eat, you will always spike. That's why you check your sugar before you eat, then you wait about 2 to 2 1/2 hours and recheck your sugar after you eat again. You should be back down to normal.
I love this family! I love these kids! They all have their things that make me love them! Good job mom and dad! Yeah I kinda like you guys too! Lol I may take the leap into homesteading next year? Undecided because I’m an “old” girl! Love the content!!!
Grateful that there are families like yours homesteading.. it’s a good example for the rest of us who still buy our food from the grocery store.! Our family always had a Thanksgiving walk before we ate because we had a thanksgiving dinner.❤❤
Justin and Rebecca Thanks for giving us a peek into your Thanksgiving. It was worth it just to watch your dancing Justin. You guys have raised some amazing kids and you and Rebecca should be so proud of them. ( I know you are!) I think those spikes after eating are normal. It's important how they come back down. And a thought, perhaps you really don't care to hear this, but when you have a cheat day, you can "sample" all the delicious food, meaning you take a few bites of each, so over all you aren't overloading carbs. ( I am retired now but was a nurse for 45 years doing health ed and community work, just FYI).
The SI joint fits together something like a zipper. When it gets unaligned it's like the teeth on the zipper are hitting each other rather than merging. Standing or reclined knee to chest pose helps sooooooooo much. The straight leg will be on the side that's having problems. My first SI injury was 30 years ago and this pose is the only thing (aside from chiro visits) that helps.
Rebecca works her butt off. Behind every great man is a strong, loving and efficient woman. She’s birthed children, nursed them, home schooled, keeping the construction going plus multiple areas we don’t have privy to and should have access to. Anyone bashing needs to get their own channel and see how it goes.
There are ways to use broth besides drinking it straight. Steaming or lightly boiling vegetables in broth adds flavor, and you can still drink the liquid afterwards. Use broth instead of water when cooking rice (or noodles). Using broth for soups is an obvious. I take a crockpot (or instapot that has a slow cook setting) to Thanksgiving meal. After carving the turkey, the carcass goes into the crockpot, along with water, a onion cut in half, several sticks of celery, a few bay leaves and some peppercorns. The next day you've got broth for a soup. I add leftover dark (and some white) meat and "real," aka non-starchy, vegetables such as carrots, green beans, cauliflower, diced tomatoes. I skip potatoes, wild rice, lima beans, corn, peas, kidney beans, blackeyed peas or other dried beans, etc. because those are all carb heavy. Instead of potatoes or wild rice, I do add some barley because I prefer barley.
Horse naming is fun! I love how everyone dressed up to go out to Grandma's! Happy belated Thanksgiving to your family. I cooked a lot too to help my mom out and make my kids hold things in the car as well. haha. I am glad you guys took a walk after eating. That sounds so nice.
It would have probably taken half the day to walk the whole property trying to find them all 😅 He's definitely worth writing the book over though haha.
Man, I need a Lily for my Thanksgiving cooking. This year it was all on me, a day and a half. Our guests brought nothing and the meal (except dessert) lasted about twenty minutes!
What is Thanksgiving? Its a celebration of gratitude, a day set aside for giving thanks for our bountiful blessings and a day to maybe overindulge in said bountiful blessings and share with loved ones. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
First of all people who don't have a lot wrong with them don't understand that you have to go to a lot of doctors and second of all I think Rebecca does a lot of stuff but we just don't see it and it takes a lot of time on the phone and computer to get a lot done plus she does so much more I hate it when people are so negative try to live one day in her life and see how you do Rebecca I hope you see this because I think you're doing a great job!
Yum, brined turkey for Thanksgiving! Yum, buttermilk biscuits by Jonah! Apple pie by Lily and Rebekah! Anything above 160 starts to kill your nerves. You want to stay below 160. Lily looks so nice in her dress. Wow, the green bean casserole looks wonderful! Cornbread stuffing looks great! Yum, squash too! Very nice pies! After Thanksgiving I was in so much pain from my left leg that it was NO fun! I had the worst Thanksgiving I've ever had in my entire life. Next morning, so much pain. Tomorrow I'm leaving home and missing Christmas to get my left leg worked on by a guy that does rolfing and knows how to realign bones. I'm not coming home until I'm fixed. I don't know how long it will take. I can't live this way anymore.
We call that their "Barn Name" or Call name. Very few registered animals are called by their registered name. Bold Attraction? no... Katie - Bridger Ida Lee? no ... Dali' - Apple Creek Temptation? no... Tessa - Sunnyside Arctic Zephyr? no... Breeze HAHAHAHAHAH
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. I want Jonah to know that using a fork to make biscuits if he didn’t have a pastry utensil was proper. Justin, you blew it. You do not use a wooden spoon. L O L. Grandma’s house is beautiful
You have to look at high glucose is like glass shreds going through your blood vessels. Ripping them apart. Damaging them. Eye damage, Kidney damage, limb damage leading to amputation. A 200 blood glucose reading is no joke. It’s like you’re playing Russian roulette with your health, body and organs.
OMG! What you say might be true for you, but it's NOT true for everybody! Mindset is very important, and words spoken or written, are neurolinguistic programming. Your brain is a computer, it reacts according to your words and manifests symptoms in your body, based upon your words. Maybe you want to study neurolinguistic programming, how it affects health and change up your vocabulary to something more life affirming?
Justin I hope they have tested you for Ankylosing spondylosis I just found out I have it and suffered for a lot of years before a doctor finally thought to test for it. SI joint pain. Pain in your feet. Some of the same symptoms I have
🇦🇺Justin I hope you don’t have a connective tissue disorder. I have EDS and Sticklers and it’s not fun. I’m always in pain and have had 21 operations. I only found out by accident I had EDS when I started going to a pain clinic. The councillor, then the Doctor that I saw, then the specialist all within 3 weeks asked if I had been tested for EDS. I had never heard of it and I was 50. Since then I have not been able to find a Dr that knows much, they all have to look it up.
Justin have you noticed any blury vision when you have them spikes in your blood sugar. I was recently diagnosed as a diabetic and realized that when my blood sugar has them crazy spikes and dips my vision is affected. Just curious. . .
“Today, I'm choosing to be happy and thankful. No matter what.” - Justin
I'm going to do this every day. Thanks, Justin

Happy Thanksgiving to such a hardworking family. Glad Justin enjoyed some special food because life is too short to not enjoy food!
Lilly, you look wonderful! Yes you all look good, but Lilly looks awesome (and she does have a special place in my heart). I can't wait to get peaches home. That little girl has waited so long I hope the horse is everything she hoped for! I can't wait for the next vlog to see!

American diabetes assn says blood glucose should be between 80 to 130 before meals and below 180 2 hours after the start of a meal.
I am grateful you share your Thanksgiving with us!! I am also Thankful for my own family holiday time!! Many blessings to you all!!!
Love watching your family having a good time. God bless.❤

Farm kids have so much more balance in their lives

AMEN!!!!
I mean, and I have a lot of the same symptoms she has. I do half as much as her on the daily. I want to be like her when I grow up
🙏🏼♥️👍
My response should have said “we should Not have privy to every aspect of their lives”.
They need space, grace, support and prayers.
Yes, it's obvious to a thinking human but haters are not that. But they get lots of attention and rile people up, that's what they love.
Omgoodness!! Josiah has SUPER MAN VOICE!! lol!!

Thankful
I have Diabeties, and it surprises me at times what raises it up.
Maybe after Gideon sorts through the books he can do his boots and shoes hahaha, I know that’s a big struggle for you guys
It would have probably taken half the day to walk the whole property trying to find them all 😅
He's definitely worth writing the book over though haha.
