reminds me of my pet chicken many years ago that would walk into the house around 7am and make purring clucking noises while she jumped on top of my bed to wake me up for school so she could lay an egg onto my bed (the pillowcases and bedsheets were either thrown out and replaced with new ones or thrown into the washing machine 1 or 2 times a day). Unfortunately one night while we all were asleep, a bunch of wild dogs or foxes broke into the chicken and duck pen and killed almost every duck and chicken inside including the bed egglaying chicken.... One of the ducks tried her best to survive by hiding underneath a thick bush after she got attacked but then she later died to an infection under her wing (she was possibly days away from losing the rest of her duckling feathers as she was the 2nd generations of ducklings) Only 2 chickens survived that night and all the dead ones were buried in the gardens around the house and we had to rebury one as it rained a few months after and her remains fell out of the garden bed. We moved to a different house after that and rebuilt our brood and even adopted two turkeys who helped hatch 3 ducklings but the dad got too excited and accidentally killed 2 of the eggs and one egg survived and hatched into a cute little muscovy duckling that we had to put inside the bathtub and teach it how to eat and drink. I was hoping that it would be a girl but unfortunately we had to give him away to a good home as we didn't want him to fight any of the ducks, chickens or possibly the murderous daddy turkey That happened a few years ago and now we are once again moving house with just one cat because we had to give all the chickens, ducks and turkeys to a good home and im hoping that at our next house, we get to build a good sized chicken pen and have chickens or ducks once again!!! (hopefully a silkie because i like their fluffy heads)
