I met Chris at Youmacon 2015 in Detroit. I was watching him play MKX casuals before a tournament and I asked to play against him and he played a few rounds with me. I got some pictures of it as well. I told him that I loved his reptile in MK9 and then he picked Reptile and clapped my cheeks. Definitely an awesome dude! That year I also met Aris and Dizzy. Aris called me a cheater because of my Cyrax cosplay and he said since you like to cheat then follow me. he got me to the front of a really long elevator line. it was great

Stryker is really good on neutral that's what people don't understand. Then you start to understand his mix ups, the restand and he becomes really good. It's not all about doing the most damage in a combo. And he still can extend some combos with Johnny for example with ex nut punch

I never realized that until this match and you brought it into the spotlight cause that makes perfect sense.
@williamgrant4769 the same route as Cyrax. Ex nut punch, into Stryker close smoke bombs, and that will give you time to get close and stand 4 into hype. It's a bit tighter than cyrax and kano but it's doable for sure

I’ve noticed Reptile is all about good defense and pressure. That force ball and dash is your best weapons with him but a strong defense is a must with him cause he’s very punishable
He’s my main and you are very correct, his room for error is kinda large. 🤦🏾♂️

Doing stryker's back mid grenade toss with reptile's back 3 low is such a good guessing game. reptile gets alot of use from strker's baton overhead and low sweeps if they start blocking everything reptile is doing. very interesting combo, stryker was actually my first kameo but never understood his use until a week ago. but now he makes alot of sense for reptile. gonna try this team out
Reptile’s invisibility needs a buff. It takes way too long to activate and goes away even on block. In the meantime Smoke can activate his immediately and it doesn’t go away if you block.
Smoke is OP aswell. You can block smokes hits by luck. Its 50-50 dash with almost No time to read
@@toper997 honestly what I’ve figured out about smoke is that he’s not that hard to block if know his move set. You can almost always block low unless you see him toss the grenade up then stand block. All Smoke players do the same thing so always anticipate the the teleport that pops you up in a string because everyone is looking for a combo so just block low or crouch poke them out of it. His move sets look chaotic but they are very simple to read if you learn his strings.
Seeing Stryker run out with his gun and taser in the middle of a fight between a giant reptilian man and Tarkatan looks so hilarious to me for some reason lol

He's really good with johnny, then again johnny has a pick from the litter when it comes to good kameos
Striker also works as suppression. If you're in trouble, you can use grenades to bombard the field.
I know when Stryker pops in there's a police siren sound, but I swear it sounds exactly like a Super Mario jump every once in a while.

I was looking for a new Kameo on Reptile, cuz Sareena wasn't cutting it (has good combos, but doesn't really give Reptile what he's lacking, and for combo extension Sonya's prob better anyway; easier to get into her combos.) But Stryker looks PERFECT. 🤔

I am just a utter noob at fighting games but aren't these super long combos you can't realy stop and that eat half of the health bar super boring ? The only interesting thing that happens is in the super brief moments between those long combos. In the end those combos fell like padding.

Not if you are the one doing the combos. It's pretty darn cool. Mk11 felt boring because there weren't many routes and the combos were short. If you mix it up, it's actually fun to do them in practice mode. Change kameos to do different routes etc
Feels amazing when your the one doing the combo. But yea as a viewer I get why its boring. You respect it more when you play the game.
I didn't think Subzero was OP as much as Baraka is and he got NERF'd. I would say Kenshi's Spirit and Baracka and Cyrax are just too OP. And I would say even without Cyrax just Baracka's combo string and easy of pattern play makes him just too OP. If they don't NERF these guys, you're gonna see nobody but Raiden, Baracka, Kenshi and Subzero in tournaments. Baracka can take your whole meter with just two 50% combo strings alone. What were the developers thinking?
Subzero in tourny? Ive seen that once or twice on ripzarena and they always swap to a top tier after the first L.
Subzero shouldn't be mentioned with those characters

Not compared to the whole cast. People say hes good when bringing up kameos because Goro can make some of his strings safe and give him more combo damage but why pick Sub if I can pick Raiden and get more damage and have safer moves, same with Baraka, and same with Johnny Cage.
Sub is good in a game where most characters are great. The top tiers get everything he gets and are safe when they do it and do more damage. Nobody needs subs shitty 50/50 when they can Baraka/Cyrax and do 10+ percent if you even block them and 40 percent if you get hit.
@@guyguy7002 Yeah, yeah. I understand but I'm just saying that group of players is more OP than the others. Subzero stands out among the entire cast. But he's not broken like Baracka is. Everything Baracka does is safe. I mean you can't interrupt his combos, you just need to sit and block, and his chip damage on block adds up. It's ridiculous. What were the developers thinking? You can just repeat the same string over and over and once Cyrax comes in he makes you block for an extra sec, meanwhile Baracka can now land an overhead attack and that will defeat your crouch block which will pop you up and initiate the string. That's how most of these players get behind your defense.

What does Baraka NOT have? Really good AA, block strings for days, chip damage, combo damage, a projectile, ambigious low and overhead mix up combo starts, range.... What were they actually thinking with this

Yeah, he's already top tier. Pair him with Cyrax and it's overkill. The reason why everyone is rocking that pair.

meh there is multiple characters that can do that. Raiden and Reiko for example. The main thing that makes Baraka strong is how easy it is to hit confirm and how easy his inputs are. Also cyrax. Hes useless without cyrax.

@@igohardallday1No he's not. He still can execute this gameplan with Kano, Stryker or maybe Sektor. The problem is the absurdity of ambush assists. I hope they get nerfed universally. Encouraging scrubby tactics like doing yolo unsafe moves and then turning them into plus on block with ambush assists is not fun to play against.
@@PK-ow1kj yea I'm sure him and others will get nerfed. Game is still in the early stages. Devs are probably working on it. I ran into a totally unlockable mix up with reptile and Darius yesterday. It's an overhead and a low at the EXACT same time. I'm pretty sure it's actually impossible to block. I never figured out how during my time fighting him at least.

Everyone and their mother is playing baraka. That character with cyrax is broken. It kills you with chip damage. Raiden and baraka again and again at grandmaster. I mean i like the game but is boring to play the same characters over and over. I was complaining in mk11 about jaquie. Lolllol.

Top 3 is generous as hell. Baraka Cyrak is easily Top 2. I'd only put this over Kenshi Frost because Kenshi is a harder character to get used to. So I'd argue Baraka Cyrak #1, Kenshi Frost #2.
