    In Memoriam to Jozef Gabčík, Jan Kubiš,General Klemeš and to all these wonderful patriotic Czechs who lived those dark and awful times. May their Souls Rest In Peace ...
    This film is absolutely Brilliant! Thank you for everyone involved in this cinematographic Masterpiece!

    General Klemeš is no longer with us. He died 7.8. 2017. He was 95 years old. He was a true hero. After the war, when communists took over, he was discharged from the army and sentenced to 2 years in hard prison and labor camp. After that he made a living in construction and eventually became a truck driver. He got married in 1954 and had a son. If there is somebody who deserves rest after life full of missery, it is this hero. I hope he reunites wis his brothers in arms. May they all rest in peace.

    There are many great films in all kinds of genres but I genuinely believe Anthropoid is up there with the best. While I have read and studied a great deal about WWII, I only discovered the story of the Reinhard Heydrich assassination relatively recently. So having seen documentaries and videos of what occurred and where it took place, it was refreshing to see an enactment of the events which is authentic in almost every way, eg the car slowing down, the driver being ordered to follow the Resistance fighter, down to (as I learned from this video) the tiles on the floor of the apartment. It is quite simply brilliant. It truly is a credit to all involved and all who made it happen, behind and in front of the camera. I can only echo the words of Cillian Murphy spoken towards the end of the video and agree wholeheartedly, great films leave a lasting impression on you and Anthropoid certainly did that. It told a dramatic story of bravery and fortitude with honesty and pathos and in doing so, honoured the heroes Jozef Gabčík, Jan Kubiš and their fellow fighters.

    I absolutly love this film, masterpeice. You get such a weird feeling watching it, being so immursed it's existentially moving words fail to describe the feeling. I guess it's emotional, very emotional and not just in a sad way. You can feel every scene, I noticed at 24:24 you can hear his voice break and the sound of his breathing a gasping. Truly a very underrated masterpeice.

      It is necessary; Reinhard is a very important general to the germans; his death changed the course of war and possible prevented more deaths than the consequences of his assassination; even the czech regard the assassins as heroes to the country, just to show how ruthless and evil this man was.

    • @johnottr
      @johnottr 2 роки тому

      @@redbull6889 Reinhard was not an important General, he wasn’t even a front line General. He was an administrator/politician who happen to work for the military. I watched this movie last night and got so caught up in it. I understand how Cillian describes the way a movie SHOULD make you feel. I decided to go on YT and see if there was any additional information about the subject. Thank you so much for providing this documentary. Captivating. Sean captures the fear and brutality of something that happened not so long ago. Beware those who are trying to make us knuckle under to political correctness. The use of fear and intimidation is the same. If you'd like to read a true story about how the Soviets did the same, I'd ask you to read THE LONG WALK HOME. Brutality and intimidation are "useful" tools that elites use to justify their quest for power. NEVER let America become disarmed. Death and slavery camps will be the price. Enough-off my soapbox, already! A wonderful story told by all who were fortunate to be associated with it. Thank you, Sex Mad And Insatiable

      @@davidlynch9049 Of course it is a nazi report, an internal report that had no reason to lie about the numbers. The nazi report on the Warsaw ghetto uprising listed KIA because there were actually KIA. Where are all the photos of the dead and wounded nazis from the church and where exactly did those claimed numbers come from? The church is surrounded by hundreds of windows in all directions, the Czech resistance would have been able to take photos. The inflated numbers were probably designed to cover for the over 5000 innocent Czechs who were killed in retaliation for Heydrich. You apparently learn or just believe history from Hollywood, and that's the real shame. Your attempted lynching has failed.

But, I then perused a few RT critiques as the movie was just coming to my local cinemas and they were disappointingly mostly unfavorable. Consequently, I have not seen it, yet. The only thing you will see is not as good is the talks with their "girlfriends". And the end, the last 45 minutes will kill you, doesnt matter if you already know the story, is mind blowing!

      Actually, Čurda was really executed but it was not by the nazis.The execution was done in 1947 as a punishment for betraying his friends = soldiers on an important mission. When he came to nazis they were probably torturing him a little bit to make sure they get as much information as possible from him. But later he got a lot of money and a flat at Pařížská street (one of the most expensive streets in Prague) from them as a reward. For obvious reason the nazis gave him a new identity...which explains why he wasn't executed right after the end of the war - they couldn't track him down.

Also if you think the fight inside the church has been filmed inside the model made in details in size 1:1.The labour been that time much more cheaper than these days. This is just an other view to this historical event. But all makers made historical mistake. Paratroopers had no Sten Subs during fight but just pistols Colt 7.65 1913 model. During flight inside the church haven't died any of SS troops,just plenty injured. Seven paras hold 750 SS troops Das Reich for 7 hours with just these small automatic pistols and two last bombs what left in their hands...by the Czech Army History institute...this movie excellent job.....must say movie Atentát was ready to make before 1960 but Communists didn't give permission.
