Thanks Sasha just subscribed! I trade 0 DTE SPX Iron Condors too. I like to avoid the open for the exact reason (gap up or down) you state as well as the close. Just did a vid that shows my last 2 weeks and still refining my strategy.

Premium is constantly coming out. Even in a 90 day iron condor premium can come out quite a bit when you get to the 50 days... people just are trained or mentally conditioned to do shorter term.

How do you select strike & width for 0dte iron condor? And what do you when the price moves out of bound? Do you stop loss, or wait and hope it comes back into range? And how/when do you stop loss, if at all?

Hardest part of trading 0dte IC is managing the losing side. Roll or not to roll? When to roll? How to manage the legs after hitting stoploss.
Yeah, for sure - there is quite a bit of work involved with managing the 0dte because you are doing 30 the same work of a 30 day iron condor of management within 1 day.... its all compressed.

30 to 1 hour minutes works best.
The problem I have trading the SPX is buying in. On 01/03/2024 I tried to sell the 4715 Call/put and buy the 4725Call/4705Put. Could not get it filled.
Yeah, sometimes it does happen, but if you move one strike up or down at times it could help - usually SPX fills are not a big problem though i find unless they are very far OTM
