Love when it's straight to the point. You deserve a lot more subs :) here's +1 to that.
Finally! I came across this build during my testing on beta and haven’t seen anyone else playing it or talking about it. Going all in on lightning with fire as a close support. Ignoring wind fury and stormstrike enhancements. Stormstrike is simply a maelstrom builder behind fire nova and lava lash. Primordial wave amplifying tempest procs is the “chef’s kiss.” Ascendance over DRE because of the window you described and because you simply are not hitting stormstrike that often. I’ve seen people talking about using stormstrike as much as they can. Resetting stormstrike as much as they can so that they can use it again in hopes to proc DRE more. The problem is your damage is not in stormstrike. And the rng of DRE usually procs at inopportune times. If you haven’t tried this build, you need to. It pumps and sustains and has great flow.
11.0.5 balance update (PATCH NOT OUT TILL NOVEMBER, this guide is still 100% valid until then): - CDR on wolves is halved. means you will very rarely overlap casts of feral spirits and uptime will be a lot lower. this is a pretty big nerf - lots of other compensatory buffs, 2min ascendance, 1 extra talent point, changes in stormbringer tree, new talents - totemic heavily buffed and now has a lot of synergy with the enhance kit that it didn't before I can't say how these changes actually affect enhance's damage, there are too many changes both positive and negative. Entirely possible the build will change. If there is a new build that is good or the gameplay changes I will make another video or an amendment video to this one.
what about the tier changes ? All ability damage increased by 2%. Nerub-ar Palace Tier Set : 2-piece - Stormstrike, Lava Lash, Ice Strike, and Crash Lightning deal 6% increased damage (was 15%).
I had quick question that is kind of irrelevant with the changes coming in November, but in the section of the video with feral spirits, how do you have so many dogs out at once? Tempest summons a lightning dog, and FS does 2 random elements, but they don't seem to overlap. If you FS, then FS again in the 15 sec duration, the first pair disappear. Am I missing something?
Thanks for pointing out what is and isnt important in this video. I've been in love with the idea of enh shaman (since they over simplified elemental...) but also intimidated by the guides on common sites. Having someone point out stuff i can ignore or stuff that is not all that impactful will help me to get a hang of this awesome looking spec!
Thanks for this, not sure if still relevant post nerf but def helped me a ton. Tried to learn through the wow head guide but it felt like rocket science. You pushed the important points and pointed out the things that were very minmax that isnt necessary which really let me focus in on the core gameplay.
30/08 balance update: - 4% aura nerf is fine, spec was a bit ahead - tempest soft-cap is cringe but it's a buff for 2-8 target. Tempest will do 35% less damage on 20 targets. Significant nerf for necrotic wake first pull but probably fine everywhere else - totemic is probably still far behind in mythic+

Cannot stress enough how important it is to have a tempest ready to go at the start of every pull. It is as you said, if you have it you're pumping, if you don't you're doing no damage.
Question: at around 6:50 you use primordial wave and then chain lighting. Doesn't this eat the buff? Is the best rule to save primordial until we have tempest every time?

I get so lost on the rotation because everything is up so fast, you can get lost so easily. I think I need to find some good WAs or something to keep track of everything
i think enhance will be fine. it was quite a bit ahead of most classes, it got buffed on 2-6 target aoe. going to be significantly worse on something like necrotic wake first pull though.
tried it out on live and its good i just wish flavourwise it was stormstrike interacting more in the built than lavalash but yeah the point difference is too high

Your guide is very helpful- I HAVE A QUESTION, I've been having an occurance maybe once every other pull.... where I will dump 10 stacks of maelstrom on EITHER Chainlightning or Lightning bolt and It will instantly give me 10 stacks of Maelstrom right back. This happens on single target bosses, on aoe pulls, inside and outside of ascendance, and doesnt seem to matter how many dogs I have up. It also seems to reoccur more oftan than it occurs, sometimes Ill go 10stackLB>10stackLB>10stack Tempest>10stackTempest>10stackLB>10stackLB all in a row. IO am not complaining- this is amazing, i love when it happens.... however I really would like to know WHY its happening, the tempests makes sense due to the final talent in stormbringer, but I really want to know why i am getting multiple 10 stacks in a row like that just so i can possibly predict it better.

hello does crash lightning really generated maelstrom? been reading tooltip it doesnt says it does. looking at talents i dont also see anything that affects it maybe i miss something
all melee hits have a chance to generate maelstrom additionally, crash lightning procs windfury on targets hit, which also generates maelstrom it is not guaranted like your other abilities

Can you explain why during ascendance you want to spend manually at 8-10 stacks? Why not hit windstrike, since windstrike will also do a lighting/tempest on top?
@@zorthas kinda makes sense -> you cast tempest and then auto cast LB but it is itself a tempest Vs if you cast just 1 tempest it does the tempest then casts the free LB which is an LB

chain lightning does not consume primordial wave. only lightning bolt and tempest do.

ice strike has a lower cooldown and gives a lot more maelstrom than sundering

When I enter ascendence, I lose tempest because of wind strikes. Is there any macro or alternative to avoid losing tempest?

i don't want to link mine but you can get it to look similar by reducing the alpha of the bar colour to 0 and making the text size bigger

Idk why sometimes tempest hit every target with prim wave, but most of the time its 1 tempest plus 4 lighting bolts
if u have 2 stacks of tempest it will send out 6 tempests it's a bug right now idk if they will fix it
