This video saved me $150 repair- one of the last things he mentions if the engine needs more RPM just bend the spring metal flap/tab back a little bit. I did that and Back to high rpm’s and nice lawn!! Thank you!!!!

I learned from my B&G engine that the piece that the governor spring is attached to should be in the right position. This is the piece that sits directly on top of the carburetor. That piece on my mower had gotten moved 90 degrees clockwise which caused my governor to not work at all and idle very high. I moved the piece back to its position to where the governor could function and now runs perfectly.

It's very difficult to accurately determine where each spring goes. It would be much better if you had removed all the springs and reassembled them. I can't tell from the video where exactly they are hooked up.
