I am glad that majority of young generation indians actually know real music off course they listen to artist from other countries but still if you ask them they will always choose Indian singers 😂❤
Indian music industry is top notch. No other can beat them. I totally agree with you, Efra. If you listen to Hindi music, you transferred in another heavenly. dimension.
@@Bjish039 I'll counter this by saying south asian music in general, right ? Bengalis also cooking shit up there in the east. Btw any pakistani artists you would recommend? I usually listen to come studio and Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam... Yk the mainstream bollywood ones
If you are talking about Indian music industry today, then you are wrong. It is mostly full of shit nowadays. Indian music industry used to be top notch . and if your perception of indian music industry is only bollywood hindi music then you should widen your knowledge by listening to regional like malayalam, tamil, bengali, telugu, marathi music. Taoday's music industry is doomed and filled with repeatative highly commercialised film music, that too is of bad quality
The problem, Efra, is that in the West, the "performance" comes first - not the art. The simple act of singing and making music has been commodified so much in the West that the beauty of natural, organic music is gone. There are maybe - MAYBE - a handful of Western artists that are capable of real, raw singing without turning it into a performance.
This year January, I went to a concert. Shubha Mudgal, Usha Uthup and Parvathy Baul were performing. After their performance, Parvathy Baul came down and sat in the row I was sitting in, like 5 seats away, and Shubha Mudgal came down and sat in the row front of me, like 4 seats towards the left and Usha Uthup was performing on the stage. It was amazing to see how down to earth these artists are. All the 3 artists were within the 10 metres radius of me. I had never been more starstruck. ❤🧿🤩
During our last college fest, we had Shilpa Rao as the singer for the final day and MY GOD she is absolutely phenomenal. Great energy, great interactions, and exceptional voice.
In Indian culture, singing and dancing are not mere entertainment .. Art is all about connecting with emotional and spiritual existences... Kind of worship... Indian singers from classical or folk background can sing anything anytime... You should watch Sonu Nigam impromptu singing on stage ... With his on the spot improvisations, he is way ... way.. better than recorded versions...
These folks do it because it is cultural. His mom would have made him sing at every party at every social event through his young learning ages. People sing on festive occasions. People invited to your home for certain poojas come there with the intention to sing and will be requested to sing. Performing on these occasions is normal and it trains you. This kind of culture does not exist in the west. You rarely ever have people coming as guests requested to sing. That is absolutely normal in India. If you are learning music and if guests come to your house, you will be asked to sing. It is not optional. The same if the guests are musicians, you will be asked to sing. Infact it is offensive not to.
It's good to see you guys recognising perspective of real art and calling out artist to "let's see if you could do it raw in real" to which actually so called fake artists would say no and that will include big names throughout the world
I so agree with Efra on this one .. I am a purist when it comes to music and when ppl take these big names considering them like Gods whilst they can't make it in regular bar😂
For Indians money is not everything. The satisfaction on work is predominantly important than money. Anyhow, wealth purpose is to get satisfaction, if one get that pleasure with simply by sharing.... what else one needs.off course Money automatically fallows...
Hii two beautiful personalities our tradition our pride of every Bihari and Jharkhandi , chhath is coming please react to chhath songs one of the marvellous festival of India which is celebrated in mostly in Bihar Jharkhand UP please❤❤ popular songs are pahile pahile chhath , uga ho Suraj
Because they are professionals singers just like professional athletes/f1_racers/ballet_dancers/air_pilots. What you are watching is just the outcome but to give this instant 2-5minutes performance they have put hours literally 100s of hours into practicing and fine-tuning their skills. It’s amazing and most of them come from an Indian Classical music background.
Common understanding of music is skewed. Accept good music ( Rock, Metal, indian classical etc etc) in all its glory...Pop is not the be all and end all of music. Accepting and broadening the musical horizon is true exploration.
You can start a new series.. Original vs Remix Indian songs. There are some great remixes that I hope you will love to listen to. Here are some that you can start with.. People will suggest more.. 1. Khoya Khoya Chand - Original Khoya Khoya Chand - Remix by 'The Bartender' 2. Chura Liya Hain - Original Chura Liya Hain - Remix by 'Bally Sagoo' 3. Dil Kya Kare - Original Dil Kya Kare - (The Love is.. Mix)
Indian artists are not afraid od singing as even every indian can hum or cry out anything they want and this is very normal. Mic or not. Solo singing or chorus. In tune or not. And no one is going to sue you😂
Honestly arijit and Shreya are brilliant no doubt. But there are so many live artists and singers in India who are just as good but didn’t get the opportunity and now because they don’t have views don’t get funding. Our natural Hindustani singing is based on being proficient in your art. Unfortunately the next generation is only looking to replicate the West and we are losing our art. Anwessha is fabulous but she doesn’t get enough credit. Her song with Papon - Benaam si - on coke studio is one of my favourites in the last few years
I am glad that majority of young generation indians actually know real music off course they listen to artist from other countries but still if you ask them they will always choose Indian singers 😂❤

True
couldn't have worded it better.
Actually this is normal in India, even my grandparents ask people who sings well to sing it for them randomly 😅😅
