So cool that you got the panels for free and are part of their research.
Water in the desert is golden.
These panels are $3,900 each, if anyone was wondering.
They're definitely expensive
@72Dexter72Manley72 No, $3,900 for two. Still works out to a 106 to 130 year payback / break even.
@@ontheroadwithdan5571 I checked the sit and it said $3,900 each.
@@ontheroadwithdan5571 It's possible they are giving a special deal. But right off their site is $3,900 each.
@@ourselfreliantlifeI am so happy for you two to have been gifted these. If anyone deserves some good juju coming back to them, it's you two. 👍🧓
My first thought, when I heard Jim describe how they work was Star Wars. Vaporators that moisture farmers on Tatooine use to farm water from the atmosphere.
I hope those panels become a pleasant surprise at how much water they produce.
Epic!!!😂
I was thinking Dune…
Nerd! 😁
Yes I know I am too
U r very lucky to have a family that is on a similar path of self reliance...I hope your journey is fruitful
Wow that's some great innovation for folks in such a dry climate, I'm so glad you qualified and can show other people how it all works. Very nice to see inspector Lluvia checking out and approving all the new pieces and parts, we can clearly see you're in good hands under her watchful eyes ❤
The panels are just solar powered dehumidifiers with a filter. Definitely helpful to them, but not innovative.
Glad they have it though obviously.
@@ITSecurityFTW I have never seen them before, as I don't live in a dry climate. You'll just have to find a way to pardon me for seeing them as innovative. I hope you feel better now for setting me straight.
Thank you for acknowledging your aunt's dog Tye as a full family member, and worthy of the honor of burial in a sacred place to remembered as a beloved member of the family. Too many people think an adopted furry friend is "just a dog" or "just a cat" and refuse to acknowledge the deep, and profound love that exists between species.
It is wonderful that y’all are getting those for free.
I am glad I skipped AZ when looking for my 400 acres.
After finding the Ozarks, I now collect more than enough water from every rain.
I would guess you paid much more per acre
@@dwight7651 5k per acre, but collected 1000 gallons of water from rain catchment in 2 days.
7000 caves here.
Lots of plus and minus everywhere
I hope the panels work well for you.
After many weeks of watching your videos, starting way back at the beginning, I am finally caught to the present. Thank you two for bringing everyone along. I look forward to many more.
Finally, Jess, thank you for sharing your experience with autism. I can identify with it. I was diagnosed in my early 60s. It explained so much of what I experienced. May you two live a long and peaceful life.
Awesome to see you got the panels! Hope they work great
Very excited to see how the Source panels work for you.
You two are so resilient and resourceful. Keep up the good work
Basically a giant dehumidifier
I lost my Yinny Jiggers two years ago. She was 15 and a Blue tick/ Blue Healer mix. Best friend and dog I ever had. My Fuzzy Pirate!
That is awesome that you were selected to receive a set of the panels. So many things come up unexpectedly.
I love border collies, my favorite breed of dog. 💜
What a beautiful couple 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏽👍🏼very down to earth, the Sacred Life!
You guys are on the ball as usual! 😊 Have a gd week!
I lost one of my boyz this past week also. Prayers for auntie and the people this pooch touched.
Now you talking Jess. I am so happy for y'all. Shalom
Jess, You got a great man at your side. Both of you are awesome!!! 👏👏👏 I know that makes you sad BUT you keep your head up girl! yall are doing Excellent!!!!! Diggen your new water set up 👏👏👏 Much Love 💞
Sorry for your loss. Those little furballs bring us so much joy and love. That love stays with us. They are all running and playing like puppies on the on other side.❤❤❤
Those panels are a high tech way of collecting water from the air. We learned a technique in boy scouts. Bury a pot so the rim was ground level cover it with plastic wrap, a small hole and rock in the middle to collect dew. Its not a lot of watet but can help you survive.
60 decibels per panel? A push mower is around 55 i believe. Might get annoying if too close to the house.
That's cool you got this extra water source especially that it's for drinking!! And Free !! Rip Tai 😢
so sorry for your loss .congrats on the new solar .
Rest easy Ty, say hi to Crew and my babies too. Those Source panels look interesting. Great video guys!
Heads up Jess and Jim, I guess my call yesterday did the trick. My panels are now activated, you'll be getting activated by the end of the week hopefully.
Hey David
I got mine 3 weeks ago and still waiting....
I just called again after seeing your comment. how long did you have to wait?
@@dwight7651 I called Monday after watching Jess and Jim video on Sunday and confronted them about telling people a week and then having to wait. They came yesterday was here at 9 am. Not sure where you are but I'm off Navajo and N. Sammy Stra. The guy activated me and all my surrounding neighbors. He's back in the area today, I've spoke to him an hour ago.
@@davidpaine4047
I'm just off hwy 80 between bisbee and Douglas, about 25 minutes straight south of you...
do you have the guys number?..... the strange thing is the first two neighbors who told me about them, well theirs were activated and running good water by the same team that did the install....
Crue died? When? How'd i miss this?
Very sorry to hear this.
That was interesting. I had never heard about collecting water from the atmosphere like that. I can't wait to see it at work.
Exist in andens peru and other places with similar conditions
I have been curious about these things I have seen advertised. It is such a boon to see if they work.
Those Source panels are so cool! That's even cooler than the hot water heater that I thought they were. We have a pet cemetary at our family farm in VA; I need to make a trip out there to leave Chuck's ashes with the rest of our family.
I've looked into these panels before and would love to use them but they are unfortunately out of our budget. What a blessing for you all. Hopefully, one day we can get panels as well.
we got some as well, so far they are really great and the the installers were super helpful.
Awesome! We're still waiting on the activation. Hopefully, we hear something this week.
@@ourselfreliantlife its a bit loud but the water is well worth it.
How long did you have to wait for activation?
@@dwight7651 about 14 days
I'm glad you received these free materials to augment your water needs. Source's FAQs does NOT provide direct answers to FAQs O suspect due to liability concerns. One vaguely unanswered question is "How much water can a panel produce monthly?". They say 180 "standard" bottles per month - What is standard? Annual maintenance, filters, minerals, and unit costs are not addressed. They will differ for each customer.
There are charts that show how much each panel produces as it correlates to humidity and direct sunlight (amount of energy the solar components produce). In AZ with the average humidity in Cochise County, both panels should produce between 1 1/2 - 2 gallons on a sunny day. Charts can be found on FB in a group entitled "Cochise County and other AZ Hydropanel owners"
Border collies and Aussies are the BEST! I have four dogs but my most awesome one is a pure Australian Shepherd.
Wow what a smart girl she knew that you guys was looking at the water system
Wow, I missed you guys! I haven't been getting UA-cam push notifications for your channel.
Glad you were recipients of the source panels🎉.. really cool
sorry you had another loss---it is a really nice idea having memorials on your property!
Congrats on your new addition to add/diversity your water collection
Excited to see how the hydro system works.
Interested in seeing how well the panels do, but I can tell you for sure that you won't get much water here because of how dry it is. I am sure it will make some good water when we get some more storms and humidity. You may actually be better off using the roof from your new addition as a rain run off to a collection system.
Sorry for your loss 😢
Wow that is going to be very nice to have extra drinking water. GOD'S BLESSINGS TO YOU ❤🙏
Pack Rats are crazy in Northern Nevada as well... Deanna and I have been dealing with it the best were are able. She burned White Sage and blew the smoke into all the RV underbelly to get them out - it worked!
I'm so sorry, Grace for your loss. May god bless you and help carry some of your grief. XOXOXO
Awe. I’m sorry for your loss 💔
Rummy the rat engaged a calm human, even though it was kicked out of its home ! 😊
Cochise County, had in-laws that moved there, know the country. I myself moved to Apache county, 5300 ft elevation, off-off grid and 35 miles from any services. On a mountain top, above the tree line,( google that, i really got it wrong) would love a few of those panels as water is a 'haul' once a month. The panel output directly relative to humidity content. Arizona, not so much. I think of those off-gridders somewhat east in a humid climate, but then rain catchment would be better too. Good luck and as always be safe. ❤
We got those same panels about a year ago. The water tastes great. FYI- they don’t produce much water when it gets super cold or extremely hot
That rat is a cutie start a new home for him .Thanks!
Once my wife and I move to cochise county, hopefully next year, we were planning on buying one or two of these! So cool you guys have them now! There's also another company that makes ones, they're counter top sized though and plug into the wall.
Without looking them up based on your description, it sounds like they may be using some sort of 'Peltier cooler' setup ie run power in and one side gets cold, one side gets hot...and if you run air over the cool side you can get condensation etc. If that is the case, the combination fan noise is probably to pull cool air in across the cold side then blow it back out over the hot side to keep that cooled off. Very cool in any case, hope it turns out well and you can do a future 'it works and is cool' followup video. :) And of course now I read the website...and nope they do not use pentier coolers, they use other fun stuff. :)
Solar stills are used in survival situations for eons. Dig a hole in the dirt, put something to catch water on the bottom take plastic and cover the hole with a small rock in the middle so the base of the plastic in aimed at the collector. moisture will condense on the bottom of the plastic and collect in the bottom.
Congratulations on the Source panels. Hope they work out well for you!

Sending Love to Ty's mom, Grace.
❤️💜🦋 my sister has boarder collie pups. They are a bit young now, ready in 2 weeks! Super cute!
Cool guy's. I also have a few good doggys. My baby Zoo is 16 years old. I think the only thing keeping him here is love. Love you guy's
A friend of mine just had them installed a couple of weeks ago. He had a lot of problems with the Company. He was give a song and dance story for 6 plus months before they came out and installed them. As yet We don't know how much water they will produce up here in the Casa Grande, AZ area. Yours might produce more since you get a lot more rain fall down in South East Arizona and the humidity is probably higher.
This is so exciting! I’ve been interested in solar still & now this technology for a long time! Very cool guys! 💚💚💚
Sorry for your Aunts loss
U guys have the same panels we do! We were part of the grant though a s got them for free
So sorry, please send my thoughts and prayers to your aunt💕
You 2 are saints having her aunt lay Tobie to rest there. Almost becoming a resting place for some sweet 4 legged pooches. Border Collies are amazing so smart and full of energy. New home addition is coming along nicely as well as cooler nights soon.
God bless little Ty.
Good morning how are you folks doing today a little late today have a great day God bless you guys I love you like your new toy
Cool (free) panels!
I remember seeing a water collection system used in Africa. It was like a large webbed pyramid. It collected water from the air no fans or power required.
I think rodents are the worst to get under the house! Grrrrrr. So hopefully you can get that screening deep enough and strong enough to keep pests out for many years to come... Love the idea of water collection. Cannot wait to see how that works out! As always and enjoyable videos!
🤓 oh waow! I want to know more about these panels! That is amazing!!! Please keep us updated! So sorry about Tay's passing. Border collies are amazing but they need the space or a lot of interactions to stimulate them (like a person staying home or another dog) if you don't have the space for them. They can learn very quickly ❤
Rip Tai.
Dogs are smarter than us. No greed, no anger.
No greed lol you never met my dog
@pb7379-j2k lol. Fair point but I hope you know what I mean
@@nic6754 I do
Amazing
Can't wait for you to start the walls I want to learn what you do 😊
I had an OCD pack rat in my garage and every night it would move all my small objects. Literally crates of plumbing fittings were rearranged and then it would piss all over everything. It was funny how we would clean up each others messes but that got old fast. Pack rats are cute, they have hairy tails.
That's wonderful . One more catchment system. Can't have too much water. . 🎉 and do please tell us how it works out. At least it's not electric.
I use my shredded paper as a fill for my raised garden beds. It just decomposes over time.
I’ve been following this technology for years, and am glad to see it finally being implemented.
My only concern would be to periodically test the water for lead.
Very interesting thanks for explaining. I would assume the power needs to be optimised for most humid time of the day.
I wonder if having a Source version that can be hooked to a supplemental power supply, like a battery/solar bank to have the panels condensing the cooler higher humidity air before sunrise to increase it's output? ... Very cool idea , glad you have them 🙂
these panels have a battery and Do run all night
I've seen similar ideas over seas .Indonesia uses them. AWSOME idea
water from air. way cool love the new tech.
Do any of yall ever just let the video run in background as ya learn how to really do the off grid gig from folks who are so generous to share their vast experience, evidence of their value and justification for these negative & that will never work critical thinkers ( heavy on the critical), is, it seems to me, that their self built, off grid mcmansion is so amazing! They won’t shame us all by making videos. Well do ya? I don’t. Thanks y’all, interesting and No I would not consider these panels. Unless they were free, thanks most of us are just watching your videos, the ol fashion way. Peace
You two really do a lot of interesting things. 👍🏽❤️
Sorry about your loss ❤ dog spirit will bless your land - 2025
SOOOO happy for you guy's ❤❤❤🕊️
Good going guy ,always have backup for supplies...........09/20/2024
Been looking at Source for a while. Planning on buying once I get moved.
Great Video! Thank you for posting.
May all your challenges be small ones. (grin)
MAGIC water from the air. If you use an air compressor you may know that it condenses a lot of water same thing that an air conditioner does. All about the amount of humidity. I live in the Northwest my air conditioner produced two gallon of water a day, I have never measured the amount of water my air compressor gets but I have to drain it once a week. thank you ALL
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Please, please do a follow up on these panels. I'm so curious if the water amount output and how the 4 seasons effect the water harvest.
I want to see how those work out, because I live in Nevada, and I just might jump on getting a few of these.
I am very happy for you….this is a true gift……this is going to be interesting
Your dog is sooo cool 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It will be interesting how much water that will produce. I'm skeptical. Hope it works.
PV panels degrade up to 25% when they heat up in the Sun. However you can cool them off using water. Have you considered feeding the source panels into a storage unit by the PV panels to use the condensed water to cool off the panels and increase electricity production?
I have been considering one of these for a few years. I’ll be very interested to see what you ask think of it.
The trouble, these kind of solutions don't make hundreds of gallons / day - not nearly as much as one would like and are are not cost effective if you pay out of you're own pocket. Rain harvest (on the other hand) works reasonably well for livable quantities - 1000gal per inch of rain on 2000sq ft collection area. Will be interested in you're actual results. But what fun, especially since you got them for free.
Yeah, I don't think the cost warrants the amount of water you get. We'll see what the results are though.
As someone else posted, the concept isn’t to produce lots of water but to produce clean water. A great many people don’t have a source for clean water due to local pollution or environmental issues.
Been following this tech for a while now. It’s similar to a different idea which is a below-ground buried water condenser. The bonus here is you don’t need to dig for these to work.
The buried condensers need to be put deep enough so they’re below the heat-soak in the ground from the sun. In the desert that’s pretty deep.
Good thing to have. Every drop is necessary. Are you going to pour a floor in the house❤
I'm not sure how well this will work in low-humidity areas. Looking forward to a follow-up video.
A couple strategically placed wooden privacy fence panels will reflect noise away from you.
