I May have mentioned this before, Nena but I believe you could conduct one of the most unique interviews with the sisters ever. I hope the opportunity presents itself one day.
Something that I think gets overlooked about the differences in personalities is the family environment they were raised in. Luis and Mony made many sacrifices to allow their daughters to bloom to their full potential both as young ladies and musicians. They put in place the opportunities for them to succeed without pushing them to be something they weren’t. They nurtured the differences in their personalities without trying to make them one size fits all. If they weren’t so humble I truly believe they could write a best selling book on parenting. The world needs more kids like the three they raised!

@@psychologyofrock I agree with @Randy Andrews in that if you were to have a conversation with The Warning, it would truly be a captivating event. Other reactors have said they reached out to the girls' management inquiring about setting up an interview and a few have been successful. Though I realize they are no doubt very busy at the moment, it wouldn't hurt to try at some strategic point. We fans would be behind you on all the way.

Agreed! I would absolutely love seeing/hearing an interview from @Psychology of Rock and The Warning. One of the things that has kind of worn on me is the redundancy of broadcast channel interviews of The Warning. They all ask the same flat questions and sometimes one can notice the sisters struggling to find a new or different way of answering them. I suspect Nina would bring such a fresh take bringing out a side of DPA that no one has really explored. It would be awesome.

After seeing the Warning perform a few times, as well as watching the dozens of fan videos of their live shows, Dany is the focus of the live show, and for good reason: she is the most dynamic performer of the three sisters. At the beginning of the shows I saw, Pau is the first one on stage, always behind her drum kit. Ale slips onto stage right, almost unnoticed. But it's Dany who comes charging out onto stage left, grabs her mic, and calls out to the audience a la Steve Perry to "Let's Go!!!" She admitted she admires Matt Bellamy from Muse for his playing and wild on-stage energy and she is definitely moving toward being more of that kind of performer. And at the same time, she also admires performers like Brian May (Queen) and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) who while are not exactly the most active of performers, are extremely energetic players. Even when there are technical issues, it's Dany who keeps the show afloat by distracting the audience, while the techs sort things out. Dany is the eldest sister and she plays that role powerfully. Pau's moments are there, but she is restrained by her drum kit. She does present herself as a performer in her own right, particularly during performance on the final night of the Teatro Metropolitan show, where she came up front and delivered a manic and brilliant performance of Narcisista. Another show in Guadalajara, Pau also delivered a killer performance of Narcisista and Olivia Rodrigo's Brutal, supported by her sisters and Argentine band Eruca Sativa. Ale stays in the background pretty much consistently, providing her thundering and melodic bass lines. I think the best documented video performance of all the sisters is the recent release of Matirio from the Metropolitan show. It's powerful epic rock and the sisters bring in their own distinct approaches to the performance.. Dany and Ale hammering on their instruments, while Pau bashes her drums and calls out "Mexico!" as they take the song to its epic climax and close.

Thanks, this was very interesting! Dany the frontwoman, Pau the expressive artist in composition and lyricism, Ale the more introverted, but having a strong opinion. I like that they all three share some characteristics with another sister, but have some unique. If they were too different, or too similar, it could cause issues, but like this it’s a perfect match for this band. And it’s great how they support each other. Btw, it’s seldom, but Ale can give excellent and interesting interviews alone. She is introverted, but has no problems to step out of her comfort zone and sing lead or do an Interview alone… with 18 years young! I guess you are quite exact with their characteristics, and why it’s a perfect match! 👍⚡️🤘

I have exactly the same MBTI with Dany, that's why she is the one I feel more relatable.
My wife is the introvert 'sister' of Pau (INFP). She is an artist (a pianist in a band, a calligrapher and painter as well, and she designed our apartment so beautifully), and I can see how she has many similarities with Pau except for the introvert version.
Question though: do you think Ale is being introvert because she grew up dominated by 2 extrovert older sisters? Or her MBTI doesn't have anything to do with her upbringing?
Thanx for the fun and informative video ❤

I also noticed that their relationship with each other are different.
Dany/Pau : the relationship between them seems to be more work/future driven .
Dany/Ale: Ale seems to be fine with letting Dany take control of the situations, and follows . But when Ale has a point to make ...Dany listens .
Pau/Ale: Pau is more playful with Ale in their personal lives .Example is like playing games together. Where Dany seems to focus on individual activities, but will quickly put her needs aside when called for.
But the three of them form a perfect triangle in their relationship .personal and Professional.

I suppose everyone has heard The Warning new song entitled "More". There is a very interesting thing about the Warning's approach to song writing. Over any number of songs that they have written, the recurring theme is some aspect of mental illness. Amour appears to be a song about obsessive love. Money is about the lust for money not unlike sexual desire. (Dany purring "I want it.") Choke is about diminished self-worth and the want for self-destruction in the face of an abusive relationship. Disciple is about finding self-worth inside of a cult. Matirio (seems) about the mindset of martyrs. Indeed, doing a deep dive into the themes tackled by the Warning is pretty heady and dark stuff, which is among the many reasons why the Warning is so important as a creative force right now. And the new song More, though I have yet to see the complete lyrics for it, seems to explore the themes of obsessive desire and the attraction to danger. Evolve is different because it plays like a personal empowerment anthem, while presenting the main character as empowered but also a dangerous and harmful actor.

    • @psychologyofrock
      @psychologyofrock  Рік тому +1

Great comment, although I think the lyrics aren't necessarily related to mental illness - maybe more along the lines of challenges many humans face that can potentially have an affect on our mental health. I think their lyrics are incredibly relatable! I'm excited for "More" to officially come out! :) Have a great week!

    • @beready992

@@psychologyofrock Modern challenges can take their toll on people in many forms. While it maybe overplayed, the effect of these challenges, maybe culminating into the harm that can be done to one's mental health, and perhaps even causing illness, are what makes the Warning such hard hitting songwriters. It's been said that each song on Error plays like a warning concerning some fault in the human condition. They are very honest about dealing with dark subjects and that's what makes the Warning so compelling.

Very thorough & insightful analysis - well done Nena! (proud INTJ here 😁)
What I find incredible is, as you say, how distinct they all are but how that distinctiveness complements the whole band. If a record label executive was tasked with 'designing/assembling' a 3-piece all-female rock band, I don't think they could have done a better job than what we have with the Villareal sisters! We have the bright, cheerful one (who of course plays guitar), the fierce, chaotic/volatile one (who of course plays drums) and the laid-back glamourous one (who of course plays bass) 😱🤩 From a cold, hard business point of view, they're almost a Spice Girls-level of 'marketable musical product', and the fact that they're sisters just makes it even more impressive...

Very insightful! They definitely have a dynamic that works. Their types are very complementary. I probably appreciate Ale the most, for her patience and her ability to keep up with her older siblings - and even ground them when they get overly exuberant. Seeing her videos made at age 9 on bass - and killing it - is still a mind warp. Her eye rolls in interviews, when Pau gets ridiculously dominant in the conversation, are legendary. You just know she's dying to say something she believes is more insightful. (It probably is!)

Simply bravo. All your analysis are spot on. It's apparent you went the extra mile and observed their behaviour very closely and dedicatedly from everything you can gather online, something that is very praise worthy. I'd go as far to say that I think Dany, Pau and Ale themselves should see this series themselves, I feel like they'd learn a bit more about themselves and their dynamic as a band and why they work so well together by listening to what you've to say about them.

Always wondered about the dynamics between the sisters. This explains why they both complement each other and at the same time work well together. What are the odds? Do sibling groups tend to work out this way or is it more common to have conflicting types?

    • @psychologyofrock

It depends a lot on the environment they are raised in, but I will say that having three that get along this well and genuinely compliment one another is extremely rare! :)

I've always thought that the 3 sisters were somewhat different but somewhat the same.
Dany to me is more eccentric and goofy but in a cool way.
Pau is the more Hyperactive and energetic cool type. Also when I think of the stereotypical Latino Fury I think of her. Like I feel like u wouldn't wanna piss her off the most cause she will probably kick your ass.
Ale I feel is more like the mysterious quiet and shy type. She doesn't talk much and doesn't really do much of the Livestreams when it's her day to connect and talk with the fans. BUT when it comes to performing, she lets loose and brings all that energy to the stage and basically becomes another person.

I have not looked through your uploads, so I don't know if you've already done this. Since it would appear Rush is one of your favorite bands, have you done an assessment on them? Is it similar to The Warning members, and would that be the reason Rush was so cohesive and were together for over 40 years? It's been my opinion that, though The Warning's sound is different, they will become Rush for a new generation. I would be very interested to see a comparative breakdown between these two bands and your insight. Thanks for listening 🎶 ❤🤘

@psychologyofrock OMG! I will be over the moon if you make this happen! 😄 I'm already subbed, but I will gladly donate for you to do this.
Rush has always been my favorite band. I started messing with a bass because I've always idolized Geddy (I can sorta play Subdivisions at tempo, but I'm no Geddy 🤣). The Warning have become a very close second for me. Thank you so much for the consideration 🥰🤘
