Loved this so much. I have so many memories of Jantzen Beach Park, it was such a cool place.

I worked on the merry go round during it's time at the mall. every Friday morning i changed out burnt bulbs, lubed The cams for The horses check The brakes. Al Taylor knew every horse by name and loved every one of them. He would tear up when I would bring him one for repair. People would step up on a leg and break one every once in a while

Darrell this is another good example of your flawless Paul Harvey emulative delivery. Wouldn't it be ironic if you were the first to become famous for UA-cam performance . I'm still doing my part every Wednesday to Milwaukie , Or. wacky.

Al - thanks for the comments. The attention and opportunities that I have received from my efforts has been interesting. I can image your efforts have received interesting responses as well.

Yo Darnall Jabin, if you're still out there, I'm on a quest for information about the Bear Cave dark ride, because in the late 70s me, and my sister rode on a dark ride in a mall, and the cars were bears like the ones in this video, and there were water fountains shooting across the path of the tracks. what ever happened to that ride after Jantzen Beach Center, because I remember it being in Eastport Plaza too. was it sold, and is it still in operation somewhere, and where can I find better photos ?

Hello Flop Plop - Glad the video brought back memories. It sounds like you may be looking for the bears in the video. They were owned by Ron Burback, the owner of Funtastic Shows. He had them at his facility on Powell St, the old location of the 104th St Drive In. He probably still has them there as he seemed reluctant to do anything other than store them. I don't know if he has any pictures, but I would try to reach him or his company. Good luck with your search.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I just shared this on my defunct page as we are currently virtual visiting the Pacific Northwest. It was posted on 7/31/15.
