As usual an excellent instructional videl. I have used all your 2.7 tutorials to build my knowledge of Blender. They are well thought out and easy to understand. Your voice is clear, precise and friendly. Well done on an excellent series of tutorials. Keep up the good work!
You could also edit the image texture to only go on the uvs wanted to avoid some of the additional uv sets. For example the the cg could be placed only one one block of the cube's uvs within an image editor with all other area of the map as transparent.
PSST! People who Like my facebook.com/BornCG page usually get to see what I'm working on for my upcoming tutorials, and see the thumbnail for my upcoming tutorials early.
BornCG I know blender has a color picker. I was wondering if I could get a texture I like by using this? the problem is though, it's not just one color. it's like 2-3. it's like a red wood with white paint. figure to get the main color then try mixing a white grunge map or something in the node editor.
Don't forget to take a break from the computer and screens to wish the mothers in your life a happy mothers' day! .. unless you're wishing them electronically. ;P
Colin, the thumbnail of this video has a problem on your channel !!!...THANKS A LOT BY YOUR AWESOME SERIES OF VIDEOS ....I RECOMMENDED BORNCG CHANNEL for been professional, clearly explained and very didactic tutorials !!! ...from Portugal - EU AlbertoHD ;-)
you can just press F in the UV window instead of zooming in/ out, makes it easy to find when you zoom out or in too much just like shift+C in the 3D view
Please make a video on how to combine two object with the vertices in it's proper place. For example a cane and a cylinder. Blender should automatically cut a hole on top the cube the size of the cylinder with the cylinder sticking out of it. I saw it in a video, but I did not know how it was done.
Nice tutorial BornCG! Just wondering did I miss something in this tutorial as to why you didn't use a Transparency BSDF node for the CG image and mossy image? Going to watch it again to see if I missed something about this issue. Thanks for the tutorials!
Great texturing tutorial :) !! Can you please create a tutorial on how to texture a human character for a 3d game, I using blender coz I wanted to create a semi realistic character for a 3d game and I cant find any tutorial that might actually help me ??
was wondering; why don't you use the Shift+Z to activate screen render? it took me some time so finally catch it on You Tube, it is very fast and easy to remember.
Rawtee vonwelker The more keyboard shortcuts I use the harder to follow for beginners, so I limit myself to the basic keyboard shortcuts I teach in the first handful of tutorials in this series. .. but I might integrate that one now that you mention it. Thanks. :)
You seem to know your stuff. Could you please do a tutorial on how to render out shadows and composite objects into an image or footage? I have watched all the tutorials and cannot find anyone who actually works (except for the one doing the tutorial) I know all these by heart now by they don´t work for me. Could you make an easy follow along tut on that? You would save my life.
Idk what I'm doing wrong. I follow the tutorial exactly but when I get to the UV map the unwrapped face remains shrinked with the graffiti. Then when I add the mapping the graffiti disappears. Please help! :
I followed along with your video with different meshes but I can get any transparency from my png.. Im trying to place a decal on an outboard boat engine. The only difference is that I dont have a texture on the whole engine. Im just trying to get the decal over the material. Any suggestions on what Im doing wrong? I subscribed to your channel as well.. good stuff!
damn ... my png's only sometimes work in blender though in Gimp it shows an alfa layer. Even the LeavesTropical0218_2_S.png. ! what up please help!? I had to end up making a black and white copy my PNG's most of the time.
Sorry, but taking a cube to show a brick texture makes it rather complicated. A simple plane would have made it much easier to understand what's going on.
teenstarlets.info At the beginning of the video I pointed viewers towards two early videos in my tutorial series: intro to materials and nodes, and intro to UV Mapping (adding image textures). I had to use a 3D object (cube) for this tutorial since unwrapping and making different uv maps is part of the process. Patience. :)

Dude you are the best Blender tutorial channel I've found. I can't thank you enough for your video series. Keep up the awesome work

I loved this! Thanks a lot!! I've been using for Maya long time and recently decided to migrate into blender and this tutorial really convinced me.

Tks for tutorial mate was great, however, how do I prevent the moss from appearing on all/the top face for example?
Very informative video. I've actually been wondering about exactly this sort of thing for some time.
in 2.8 , the min/max checkbox of the mapping node has been removed (or been moved to somewhere else). Anyone know how to do it in 2.8 ?
Very powerful technique, thanks.

I got question how make grafitty but combination with material color and not texture brick?
Great video... Thanks a lot. Btw can you share which online renderfarm service you use most for your project ?
+claystudiofx thanks! But I actually haven't used an online render farm service before.
thanks a LOT!
good answer
thanks

I can use this trick with Blender game?
How can you texture paint two materials? Not just individual textures. I want two materials on one mesh.
You can assign different materials to different faces in edit mode. I believe I covered this in a previous tutorial. 👍😉
DEKLZ!

Deckals? You mean Decals? :P
+LiteralPotato nope.
"Dekle?"
Yup.
Thank You so much!
Can You just set texture as "clip" to limit its repeating? (newer blender version)
