Jake in the summer of 1990 I was a sick kid (I was 12 at the time). My step-father and mother ran into you in a lobby of a hotel and told you that I wasn't well. You took the time to write a short note saying: "Never stop believing in yourself. Love Jake" That was over 32 years ago. I'm now 43 and cherish your note to this day.

Dennis Leavitt yeah unfortunately he was snubbed of a main event feud with Hulk Hogan in his prime because at one point Jake Roberts was so over Hogan was afraid to losing his spot as the top guy. But unfortunately Hulk stopped it as soon as it was teased because Hogan wasn’t going to put someone over who could steal his spot. But Jake did have some personal demons that kept him from ever getting it too. He was unreliable and no showed many events and was under the influence in the ring. Jake being a hall of famer and revered i still believed he didn’t get the status he deserved while he was wrestling. He could have easily been pushed as the face of the company as a heel.

Dibiase, Mr Perfect, Jake, Piper...what all these guys had in common were that they were some of the best promos in the business, and they could work...now they weren't the best workers (with the exception of Hennig) but that kind of combination didn't need a world title to get over
If you were WWF in the early 90s or late 80s with other guys like Bret Hart and Taker, that was your midcard. What a fucking midcard.

Man.. seeing Jake on oxygen is heart broken. Seeing one of the strongest men to ever exist on some sort of support to just breathe breaks my heart. Especially as a smoker myself. It makes me rethink. He smoked for so long on and fought any sort of issues for years. I’m no where near as strong as Jake The Snake Roberts. I won’t make it as long as him. I really hope that he’s able to make a recovery from COPD and get healthy again. Watching The Resurrection of Jake The Snake the other night and seeing him come back to Raw and get inducted into the HOF in 2014 after the amount of hard work and dedication he put into fixing his life and getting better and then seeing him now, 6 years later on oxygen... shows you how unfair life is. He betters his life and ends up with more health problems. I really hope Jake recovers!

So much respect for Jake for speaking out about addiction, and what leads to addiction. Trauma is the gateway drug. 95%, or more, of addicts experienced abuse, usually sexual, as a child. We cannot sweep this under the rug. It must be addressed. No one sets out to become an addict. They are simply trying to escape pain. Some compassion for addicts is in order. Thank you Jake for opening up

❤🙏 one of the True Best to ever do it. Every time your theme music hit I got goosebumps and still do. You were a lot better wrestler than people gave you credit for. You were so smooth in the ring just like you were on the mic. Not many people could even touch you on the mic. Everything you did the way you moved, spoke, your gestures and demeanors were just like a snake. It's crazy that even though you had the gimmick with having a snake that you actually fit the part to a T. You didn't ever hold a belt but you were one of the biggest maybe not Hogan but you were so over. I really enjoyed your second heel run and theme song as well which was short lived in both WWF and WCW that could've been a long run but I'm glad we still got to experience it. I Love You Jake. Wrestling wouldn't be the same without you. You were one of the big pieces of the puzzle of all the greats of the glory days of wrestling that helped make it as magical as it was.

He has the same thing my dad sadly passed away with. It actually isn't due to Cigs or anything. Its just life. Your lungs get scared up and you can breath but no oyxgen gets through the sacks into the blood stream. INSANE thing is the Dr. Ask'd me if i have had trouble with shortness of breath and i was just 31 when my dad died. Like he said its something that is just passed down. Its a condition of the lungs. Sadly with my dad we didn't know until he was basically so sick he would get light headed and faint from lack of oxygen. Feel weak. etc etc. I love Jake and I really hope he has a better goo with it.

Jake The 🐍 Roberts was so good at promos & wrestling, that he doesn't need a world 🏆 to get himself over with the fans. He just got that it factor, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have stone cold Steve Austin, with the phase austin 3.16. His rivals against macho man, rick rude, million dollar man, are the legends of wrestling. Undertaker & DDP also credits jake for teaching them psychology of giving promos. Jake the 🐍 is an icon. Blessings to you for overcoming your demons.

You have to give Michael PS Hayes some credit in creating Austin's 3:16 persona too. Michael told Austin that Jake cut a spiritual promo on him and when Austin was told that, he flipped the John 3:16 to Austin 3:16. If Michael never told him about that he would have never said anything about Austin 3:16.

If he's getting them in Jax or Atlanta, he's probably got good ones. But loved seeing him when he came back with AEW...need legends like him to make the sport cross generational. Jake was big when I was a teenager. Hope Jake is around til after I retire. He is a good guy, he cleaned up and made a lot right, and he still can sell the work in wrestling. F'in great guy. Not saying its his case, I dont know him, but maybe it is.
