SURVIVING HURRICANE IAN - THE WORST STORM WE'VE EVER BEEN IN
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2022
- Hurricane Ian absolutely RAVAGED Florida this week. It struck near Ft Myers as a massive Category 4 storm and slowly moved across the state. This is by far the worst storm we've endured. Winds were strong, but the slow speed meant it dumped MASSIVE amounts of rain. We endured quite a bit of damage, but in the grand scheme of things faired pretty well! Really feeling for all of those affected in southwest Florida.

Miss you guys! Felt so good to vlog again.
More very, very soon ❤
Cruise vlogs by any chance?
We miss the vlogs and hopefully yall are safe
Can’t wait!!😊😊😊
So glad all ok! Where have you been?….
Glad you're all ok, was this Bella's first hurricane? How did she handle it?
I’m glad y’all are safe! I know how terrifying it is to go through a Category 4 storm, I’m so thankful the eyewall of Hurricane Harvey back in 2017 barely skirted my city, but the town next to us was flattened. Hurricanes are a terrifying thing!
As someone who lived through hurricane Harvey in Houston, it was so crazy everything around us flooded and we couldn’t leave our house for almost a week and a half… it also took me around 4 hours to get home from school bc everything was flooded (it normally takes 20-ish minutes lmao)
@@Stella_-jj8bx you still went to school during Harvey?!? 💀
@@alexlau3014 i stayed home when the hurricane happened
@@alexlau3014 we stayed at home during the actual hurricane, but once the rain stopped and it was just all the flooding we had to go back. There were streets covered in water weeks later it was crazy
I lived through hurricane Harvey too and I live in a neighborhood that part of it is on the lake and about 6 streets closer to the lake all got flooded my brothers went out on boats and pulled people out of the water it was awful here
I got absolutely hammered by this hurricane, worse than Irma in 2017. Trees down everywhere. Debris everywhere and massive flooding. It was bad, but we all survived it and I’m so thankful. My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by it❤
Hurricane Michael? Yea I was in Panama City when it hit and saw the deviation first hand on Mexico beach! It was awful! Never again will I stay in a hurricane!
@SilliestKarma yeaaa Micheal was a doozy too! Cat 5! And I stayed in Panama city when it happened... Nope won't be staying anymore!
Are u in fort Myers’s because they got destroyed it was devastating to watch it unfold.
@@emmettsapparel Close to Ft Myers yeah
yeah this aged badly😭
When I lived in Florida, hurricanes were my favorite part of Living there. I love big storms so when I lived there it was so fun to get warnings.
You obviously haven’t been through a bad one…🤦♀️

As everyone else has said…glad all of you are okay. I’m so sorry about your leak issues in the house. There’s NO worse feeling as a homeowner than a leaky roof / doors / windows/ walls / etc that you can’t fix right away but are actively allowing damage inside your house. That’s a terrible situation and I hope you can find a decent contractor who can actually fix the issues. I look forward to hearing some good news soon!
The shitty thing is the contractor will probably hose them on price in a post hurricane area. Supply and demand 😐
I could imagine one thing worse, maybe not having a house like some people in fort myres. Just a thought.
Whew, yall survived that broken fan and some grass on your dock. Hope yall can get through this.
build quality on us homes is shocking
@Jack ?????
Fort Myers here... this has been quite the horror story, so many people displaced and properties decimated. We've never seen the water rise anything like this, miles from the beach homes had 6ft of water come through their homes. You got lucky with what you're dealing with. Best of luck with everything, we'll all get through this.
They're complaining about their jet skis floating away and then Fort Myers and sanibel has actual dead peoples and bodies
I feel for you guys in that area smh. I live in Sarasota right above you guys but we didn't get it as bad...hope you guys are well rn.
@@ishan_p15 bonita here, my house was destroyed and truck is sitting in hickory bay somewhere

I live in Texas, but when I heard of this storm, I was terrified for y'all, SO glad y'all are ok!
I live in Texas to! I'm in the Dallas area, I felt so bad for Florida
I also live in Orlando!! Been a fan of yours for years so your hurricane vlogs have become a tradition. Glad you guys got minimal damage, especially with the lake. I live on a lake and ours overflowed, leaving our house in 3-4 inches of water. The only good thing about today is your hurricane vlog. Love you guys, stay safe ❤️

That was a horrendouse storm. Happy you all are ok. Seeing the devastation around your state is gut wrenching. Prayers for all.

YES FLORIDA IS ALWAYS 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was in an 5 day blackout not too long ago. It was DEVASTATING to me, my mom and my big brother. Stay safe!
@Kailyn Amano duh
5 days? man after the hurricane hit Florida we went like 2/4 maybe 5 weeks without power
I was in an 5 day blackout not too long ago. It was DEVASTATING to me, my mom and my big brother. Stay safe!
There’s a lizard got me laughing 😂😂
I was hoping someone was going to bring that up
It was aimed straight for us and then it veered south east and just missed us. By about forty miles, we are in New Port Richey near Tampa . Glad you all are okay to. I was prepped and loaded for my pets and human family. Stay safe to all Floridians.
Ian is a UA-cam or name😊

So glad you guys are OK! Our dog is terrified of storms so we're thinking when we move perm to Davenport, he'll need a prescription for sure.. Hope your fur friends weren't too scared!

Wow, I live in NYC and we still had a severe hit by Ian, very heavy rain, rapid lightning strikes and floods. Happy y'all are ok.
Severe hit🤣🤣 you didn’t. Though Sandy blasted NYC.
@@traceybarnhardt9726 You could've experienced it, i was driving on the free way and i couldn't see anything because of all of the rain blasting on our windshield. I had to turn on my caution lights so did everyone else on the highway.
Why is everyone saying they got hit by hurricane Ian?
@@jamieyoung5057 probably because they live in a area that got hit by Ian???
My heart goes out to you. I felt your pain when you revealed the inside leakage. You're very special people.
I was so worried about you guys when you posted about the damage last night. Chels looked like she could have cried after seeing all the water coming in your ceiling, windows, etc. To pay an arm and leg to get that all fixed and for it to be worse then what it was originally I would be furious. But I am so glad you still have your home, and furbabies. I bet they were scared. What has amazed me is just the amount of water, flooding etc there has been. I pray for everyone in Florida who has been affected by this storm.
@@CalebBerman I just wanted to say really quick, AMEN!
Thank god I’m still in Cali
Didnt need to make that prayer, FLORIDA MAN. Florida man survives everything 😂. Thats a joke.
@@NaomiGarcia1999 i live in maryland, crazy to think the showers here, are the remains of hurricane ian, so we’re technically being hit by a hurricane
Extremely happy that you all made it. I feel so bad about your house renovations. It may be a blessing to find out the problems that were not fixed properly.
I’m very happy you guys are safe. Us in Naples got really lucky with the hurricane going past us, but we still got damaged just a little bit, and Fort Myers was even worse. Everything in Fort Myers was getting absolutely destroyed, and we couldn’t even go the beach for a few months due to repairs
Me and my family live in Venice, Florida and we took a direct hit by Ian, parts of out roof INSIDE the house fell down with huge amounts of water. We were in the eye and eye wall during the night, luckily we didn’t face any other damage than our roof. Glad you didn’t face alot of damage!😊
I went through hurricane Katrina and last year Hurricane Ida…. Praying for everyone in Florida. The destruction makes me cry.
Me too.i can't bear looking at the horrible destructions of ppls homes lives everything wrecked was watching n praying for everyone while Ian was happening.jyst heartbreaking 🙏
My wife and I moved to Fort Lauderdale from Seattle earlier this year and know how lucky we are to have not been affected by Ian with so much of the state completely devastated. As you said at least you have your health and safety. The house can be repaired. Glad you are all okay.
Get yourself prepared by next hurricane season because the east coast gets hit too
I WAS IN DISNEY WHEN THIS HIT! They did a VERY good job of keeping their parks clean. Oml we woke up the next morning and it looked like a hurricane didn’t even hit!
I LOVE DISNEY ❤
That sounds lovely glad everyone there was and still is probably ok.
Nothing will humble you more than thinking you’re prepared for a hurricane 😂 glad you guys got through it ok!
I got a direct hit form this hurricane😭. Im young so it was horrifying. I have been through hurricane Irma but this one was horrible. My family is okay but, the flooding almost got to our garage. It’s crazy because our house is above flood zone. I hope u guys are okay 🙏💗 many blessings for everyone that went through this with me.
Edit. Thank you guys for all of the love and support ❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate it.
Caribbean person here! Irma hit us directly back then and I’ve been just as spooked since (I was 15) any time I hear of another one that 4 or higher I panic internally even if it isn’t coming my way. Hope no one can experience the loss I witnessed back then if anything, I wouldn’t even wish it on my worse enemy.
Yeah I have also been through hurricane Irma I was like 5 so it was scary but not as scary as this one
the flooding got into my garage 😭
I’m so glad you guys are okay and safe I’m sorry that y’all got some damage. I’m glad that u guys are okay💗

Such a bummer you fixed all of your house and then this happened. So glad everyone of you guys are ok rn. Also ngl seeing Trev (and Chelsea of course) just full on dragging 2 jet skis in the middle of a hurricane is the most Florida thing I've seen. So happy you guys are ok much love!!

What a beautiful couple and beautiful home! I'm not a big vlog watcher but I always come back to this one.
I have some family living southeast of Tampa and fortunately they were perfectly fine. The most surprising part of it is that they never lost power the whole time, so I am very thankful that they made it and you guys as well. Love watching the hurricane videos because I'm from the Midwest and so we never get to experience stuff like that besides tornadoes. Not only that I have a big fascination in hurricanes, so it is cool to see what is like being in the storm and how they work. Glad that you guys do these types of videos and good luck!
Hello, we in Georgia have to worry about both (infrequent) Tornadoes, Hurricanes- well, er, Tropical Storms, and Severe Thunderstorms.
I like tracking and looking at the radars of a hurricane.
Hey Trev! I live in Sarasota and have family all where it hit. We are all okay, but everything is destroyed. I love that you post these kinds of videos as it helps keep my mind on it. Im glad y’all are okay.❤️
I was born and raised in Sarasota. Remember watching hurricane Donna in 1960. Giant oak fell parallel to house so no damage. When we had to move due to my dad’s work my mom chose east coast due to no major hurricanes. Excellent choice. Praying for you.
Amazing footage. Thank you for the hands on live footage of this. And for explaining what hurricanes are like since I don’t live where these occur
I feel so informed! Thank you for sharing.
We're in Southwest Florida. The beaches are gone just destroyed. Living inland helped a little. Still had 90+ mph winds. Power is finally coming back on. Stay strong guys!
bonita beach here, I got wiped out from Ian
When he said back in the day when we had to wait for the rain water, that’s the way we lived in the country mountains. We were so poor and didn’t know it. You can appreciate life and get through anything. It made us stronge. Thank you God for blessing us every single day.
I live in the UK but did live in SC as a kid and experienced tornados. I was over on vacation in Orlando when Hurricane Irma hit - that was an experience but wow I was impressed how well everyone there dealt with it - the prep before the storm arrived and the quick clean up after. Any disaster here in the UK on the same scale would be terrible and they can’t cope with 2 inches of snow here. We even managed to get to Miami the following weekend but the planned trip to the Keys was a no go obviously. Great video.
Glad you all are safe! My husband and I are from Cape Coral where it hit us head on coming off the gulf. It was a nightmare hurricane to experience for our first and I don't think anyone was expecting that. Now the cleanup begins! Praying for everyone who lost it all. 🙏

I go to UCF and most of the campus and surrounding area is flooded, glad you are safe, if you are reading this please pray for Florida
the points in the house at witch the water is leaking could possibly not be the source of the leak. the points of the house where water is leaking at are drip points. water could be coming in from a completely different area of your house but those are simply drip points and not necessarily the origin of the water entry. I know this comment was posted 9 months late but if you guys still haven't figured it out I hope I helped :)
My brother lives near Tampa and he also said that was the worst one he's seen too. I'm glad you're ok!
Im so happy you guys are ok! I live more on the southeast and we got hit by tornados before Ian even made landfall, this hurricane was honestly crazy and Im sending so many positive vibes to those affected.
I am glad you all are okay. You all were in my prayers the entire time this was happening. Prayers going up to everyone who was affected in anyway at all.
We have a centerblock-brick house down near Sanford, we lost power for a few days and our golden retriever (Max) was terrified the entire time! We have had worse storms around here but this one really still caused a lot of damage. I hope you guys don’t have anymore hidden damage! Best of luck.😊
We are in Daytona beach and we lost our home and cars. Everyone flooded in the neighborhood. Ian was bad I’m still praying for those on the west coast. Truly heartbreaking
My heart goes out to you guys! I live more centralized and was barely affected, but seeing all of the devastation is heartbreaking.
I can’t believe it’s been 18 years since Charlie.
They didn't lose anything.......
It’s the people that HAVE that my heart goes out to. 🙏🏻
So glad you guys are ok, so sorry all of that damage happened though :( sending prayers and thoughts to everyone affected by the storm
I am glad you survived! Thanks for your video.
When Ian hit me in NC, it was barely a Cat 1, but it was moving so slowly and was producing so much have any rail, that our yard, which usually good at absorbing heavy rain, got covered in 3 feet of water, and was neck deep in one hole where we removed a tree. I’m just glad our house was built on top of a hill.
Glad you guys are okay!! Praying for everyone involved❤
Glad you guys are okay! Anything that was damaged can be fixed/replaced, you guys and the dogs and the cat can’t be! Sending you prayers and positive vibes!
In the U.K. we don’t have hurricanes but we have pretty bad storms. In February we had a storm (Storm Eunice) that cost £360 million in damages, 3,100,000 power outages and the highest wind levels were 122mph. Luckily where I live it had slowed down to 90mph but it was still scary. I remember going to bed and because I have a tree outside my window being terrified it would fall and hit my house. It thankfully didn’t but it lost a few branches. Unfortunately loads of roads near me were shut because of trees tho. I’m glad you guys are safe tho ❤️❤️❤️
Im so glad you guys are ok. I’ve never been in a hurricane so I don’t know how bad or scary it is but my prayers go out to anyone who was affected.

You are very brave people to ride this storm out. Thank God you are ok. I remember my ex husband riding out Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He said he would never do that again. I really don't know what I would do. But material things can be replaced but lives cannot. Thank you for recording this video. I was at Pennsacola University when Hurricane Hugo went through very scary at times. Again Thank God our Lord watched over you.
Glad you guys are okay & safe. All of Florida got hit pretty hard by the hurricane. All that's left to do now is rebuild & reinforce. I have friends living in Florida hopefully they made it through the storm as well. Take care guys :)
Not being from a hurricane affected area myself, I always find it hard to believe folks don't pull $100k wakeboard boats out on trailers and put them in covered storage somewhere. Thanks for the footage of Ian, glad you made it thru alright.
There's not enough storage, most are full during good weather.
All storage places are full!

WOAH! Hope you guys are doing good! I’m currently in Florida because my family is traveling and there’s supposed to be a storm soon, I don’t think it’s a big one but I’m so glad it won’t be like this. Thanks for the video!
We were 2-3 weeks without power following Laura, and we were in town so we were quick getting it back. About a week after Delta. First thing I did after Laura was buy a portable generator.
