Rui costa as new Benfica president is making the right decisions, he knows ball, the signing of the new coach Roger Schmidt was spot on, the improvement in game quality was huge. Benfica is unbeaten this season, and playing wonderfully, it’s a joy to watch.
Benfica has been a power house for many years it is nice to see benfica get the credit they deserve . Not only that they are able to achieve great results with lower cost players let's compare the payroll from psg vs benfica there's a big deference.

Still a great player he had tenacity, stamina, tackle, decent ball distribution, agressive aproach and a never say die attitude that i loved!!!
Also he took Ramos off because he had a lingering injury and didn’t want to push it so he made the sub for him but overall I agree Schmidt is an amazing coach!
As a Benfica fan I'm glad that Benfica made it through. As a football fan, I'm happy that the super league failed otherwise teams like Benfica, Porto, Club Brugge or Napoli would not have had a chance on the pitch to earn it.
Just to help your work. Benfica sold players like: Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, João Cancelo, Ederson Morais = Manchester city. Oblak, João Félix = Atlético Madrid. Renato Sanches = PSG. Darwin = Liverpool. Angel Di Maria = Juventus. A hug and good work.

Benfica made the subs due to injuries - Aursnes and Ramos are off for a few games now and not because Schmidt didn't like what he was seeing... Psg thought it was easy. Domestically they are 1st with 8pts difference to Porto 2nd. Yesterday they beat Estoril 5-1 and has a stat of 20 goals in the last 4 games in all competitions... And Antonio Silva 19 years on October 30th scored 2 goals!
Players bought from Benfica have a stamp of quality and that’s why the rich clubs get them from Benfica, as well as Porto, sporting and other team in Portugal. If Benfica had the funding the top clubs have everyone would be dancing to a different tune. All these top players only have more money then Benfica nothing else!
People forget Benfica was huge before 1994, always a presence in Champions League and going to finals every 10 years or so. Unfortunalty we only won 2 of those finals🤣, similar to Juventus for instance. They have alot of finals aswell. But the club went bankrupt in 1994 and if it weren't for the help of partners and supporters in general it would had disapeared. "Too big to fail" is the expression here. Then we had a president that robbed the club and even went to jail for it. It's been a long road, but finally we are seeing something close to what the club was. Of course things are alot diferent now and it's impossible to compete with oil teams.
To be frank its a running theme in European top 5 league that the emerging great team isn't created thanks to clear financial muscles but great organization with excellent scouting and managerial team with clear vision and direction they want to take with the exception of the 2 big oil clubs, Real, and Bayern team like Liverpool, AC Milan, Napoli, Atalanta, Atletico, and the really hated RB Leipzig all compete with teams compose of academy graduates, young prospect turn 1st team regulars, and if needed just one or two overprice player to complete the team while with the exception of maybe Arsenal and in the future maybe United if Ten Hag work have team that just flexing their financial muscle because player a or b is known are in deep troubles like Barca, Juventus and Inter

In fact I was shocked that we actually used the Darwin money mostly wisely this summer, I could already see Jorge Mendes (the great cancer of Portuguese football) rubbing his hands with all the commissions he was going to make from Benfica.
When Joao Mario scored the last goal he asked the bench: "Is it done or we need more?".
The Brooks story? We still didn't know António Silva could perform in thr first team and panicked, thinking about injuries.
Real talk about foottball. Nice to hear passionate people debate the sport thiis way.
He Change at 30min because players have small injurys.
Thank you for see the level os my Benfica!!!!
Foi benção Weigle sai. o Tarrabt também foi tarde. Scmidt antes de vir observou vários jogos do Benfica, por isso já sabia com quem contar!
I can’t even keep up with the name of the channel or the show it’s changed three times since I started watching. Can someone get the branding team at CBS together to sort this out?
It’s all about recruitment discipline balanced with management philosophy ❤
Great Benfica
Finally a beautiful video to watch.. thank you for taking some time to actually talk about Benfica and how well they’ve done this group stage, instead of going on about PSG Juventus etc
They surely deserve all the praise
Don't forget to praise whoever defeats your team, like PAOK.
@@pedroedsos or Club Brugge in your case?
@@da_cruzz9434 Not in my case, but nice try and good way of showing you only care because they are praising you team.
@@pedroedsos you’re a clown coming here saying stuff like that, when this video or my comment isn’t relevant to anything you just said.. you just like to come out of your hole and pretend you know something and make yourself feel like a clown 🤡 good job bud
Both substitution were due to injuries not a tactical move. Onething is that Benfica has a identity playing and does not change
Enzo Fernandez was a bargain but river plate still have 30% of a future transfer fee
I love the fact Reo Coker actually aprecciates Benfica alot! Its funny cuz he was one of my fetish Defensive Midfielder in the BPL back to is West Ham and Villa times!!! It was shame he wasnt called up to the FIFA wc in 2006 he clearly deserved but the competition (Hargreaves and Carrick) was too strong!
Ramos and Aursnes got hurt during the 1st half. That's why they were substituted, both were playing well.
BENFICA = GLORY
Wrong about the early subs, Roger said it himsef, it was not strategy. Aursnes and Ramos were injured so he took them out.
Amo-te BENFICA
Who is psg in history of football? Benfica is hugeeeee compared to that guys from Qatar... Sorry... Paris
Roger Schmidt didn’t take Ramos and Aursnes off because to improve the way we were playing, they were both injured
The team knew. João Mário after scoring the goal ask the bench if it was enough.
🔴Ben🦅ica ⚪️
BEM BEM BEM BENFICA ! 🔴⚪
Thank you for the podcast
Benfica 🦅❤️💪
BENFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Actually Schmidt took Ramos and Fredrik off at minute 30 cause they had small touches not because of tactics
As a Benfica fan I'm glad that Benfica made it through. As a football fan, I'm happy that the super league failed otherwise teams like Benfica, Porto, Club Brugge or Napoli would not have had a chance on the pitch to earn it.
Very nice! Perfect explanation!
1:10 bro I'm Portuguese and I absolutely died when he said this hahahaha
Actually the changes in the 1st half was 2 injuries
Thanks for respecting us. Just one thing for Nunez from the 100 milion we got like 50 milion still a lot but not that 100 mark
Don't forget...David Luiz, Javi Garcia,Ezequiel Garay, Enzo Perez, Fabio Coentrão, Nolito, Axel Witsel(Atl. Madrid), Nemanja Matic(AS Roma) Victor Lindelöf(Man U),Nicolas Gaitan, Raul Jimenez(Wolves), Gonçalo Guedes(Wolves), Andre Gomes(Lille), Nelson Semedo(Wolves), Mario Rui(Napoli), Danilo Pereira(PSG), Luka Jovic(Fiorentina), Fabio Cardoso(fc porto) Jota(Celtic), Nuno Santos(Sporting), Nuno Tavares(Marseille), Gedson Fernandes(Besiktas), Jose Sa(Wolves)...all players sold by Benfica or came out of Benfica's Academy.
@@nesk2011 Yes I have not forgotten. I'm just referring to Benfica school players and also players who have recently spent time at the club and are active in major European clubs. If you see, I didn't mention jota or Gonçalo Guedes, for example.
But Lindelof=MANCHESTER, Axel Witsel and Reinildo= Atlétic Madrid is OK.
Thanks. 👍
You forgot some players of the academy: Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, João Cancelo and so on.
Antônio Silva new nesta. Ramos and ausnes were injured..
These dudes didn’t watch the game. The substitutions were due to injury
Im pretty sure our coach did those 2 subs early on to preserve physical condition, the players were actually doing well but had light injuries 😅
RESPECT BENFICA!!!!!
So António Silva has not Madei his national debut yet , but he might be called for the WC
Benfica!!!
the 2 guys who he benched were injured not serius injuries doe
Academy of Benfica is producing 500 new players right now, more will come to replace the ones that are going out
To be frank its a running theme in European top 5 league that the emerging great team isn't created thanks to clear financial muscles but great organization with excellent scouting and managerial team with clear vision and direction they want to take with the exception of the 2 big oil clubs, Real, and Bayern team like Liverpool, AC Milan, Napoli, Atalanta, Atletico, and the really hated RB Leipzig all compete with teams compose of academy graduates, young prospect turn 1st team regulars, and if needed just one or two overprice player to complete the team
while with the exception of maybe Arsenal and in the future maybe United if Ten Hag work have team that just flexing their financial muscle because player a or b is known are in deep troubles like Barca, Juventus and Inter
