Atletico Madrid (despite their poor form, I expected them to make it to the knockouts, Atleti just have that UCL history with Simeone (Diego’s son had more success…)) 3. Club Brugge (after last season, with the upsets against PSG and Leipzig, as well as the fact that they always do well domestically, I knew my southern neighbours were not to be underestimated. Too bad they slipped at the end because they really could’ve gotten first place.) 4. Bayer Leverkusen (Really, really underwhelming domestically so far. I thought that run of form would carry over to the European stage. They were still moderately impressive and they did get Europa League, wow.) C 1. Bayern München (I would expect Bayern to top the group quite easily. Didn’t really expect them to get 6/6 again. But would’ve expected 5/6 or something. They are just that one level above Barça and Inter.) 2. FC Barcelona (I too thought these transfers would do the trick. Especially should have been Ballon d’Or winner Lewa. Everyone performed well in the end but it’s sad to see they kind of bottled it after that amazing start.) 3. Olympique Marseille (Impressive domestically and in Europe last year. I expected them to get third.) 4. Eintracht Frankfurt (I too thought the transfers and chances would harm Frankfurt and make them finish at the bottom. I was really expecting that European success hangover. At the time of my first predictions, they also didn’t seem to impressive in the Bundesliga. Congrats for proving me wrong!) E 1. I thought that this renewed confidence would get them first place, over Chelsea.) 2. Chelsea (At first I really thought it was going to be that battle between Chelsea and Milan, but the other team were impressive. Congrats on Dinamo for that match day 1 upset. With 1 point in 2 matches, with two games against Milan at hand, I thought they would really struggle and could possibly get grouped. Potter turned things around.) 3. RB Salzburg (Impressive in a group last year in which every team advancing seemed like a flip of a coin. They always do well on the domestic front [obviously]. But beating Chelsea or Milan for that knockout spot… That seemed like too much of a stretch.) 4. Dinamo Zagreb (The clear underdogs in the group. Though I would not have been that surprised if they were to hibernate in Europe.) F 1. Real Madrid (Quite an easy pick. They have just been too impressive. I imagined they would not go pedal to the metal later on, once they already claimed a lot of points, which did happen.) 2. RB Leipzig (At first I was really regretting choosing Leipzig to be second. Poor start in the UCL and in the Bundesliga. They turned things around.) 3. Celtic (Scottish Prem winners. I imagined Celtic and Shakhtar battling it out for the UEL. Shakhtar was far ahead of them, though.) 4. Shakhtar Donetsk (After last year’s rather hopeless fourth place, I expected a similar disappointment this year. They really did prove me wrong! If they were that bit more clinical, they will be a dangerous UEL side. They battled for that Champions League knockout spot until the end.) G 1. Manchester City (Was there any surprise? No, there just wasn’t. Dortmund could perhaps give them a run for their [oil] money, which they did. City at first place was just a given. I think this entire group was.) 2. Borussia Dortmund (Quite a bit behind Man City, quite far ahead of Sevilla and Copenhagen. Knockouts were easily secured after last year’s disappointment. Put up a hell of a fight against Man City.) 3. Sevilla (If this club was a man, he would be called mr. Europa League. Sevilla very poor start, much like Leverkusen, made me believe they had a very, very, very slim chance of making it to the knockouts. They didn’t. But the gap between them and Copenhagen was there. I couldn’t imagine them finishing 4th.) 4. Copenhagen (Got a point against all of the teams. Quite impressive, but not enough.) H 1. PSG (This pick seems so obvious to everyone. Most people were thinking it’d be Benfica and Juventus battling it out. PSG in first seemed like such a given. They breezed through the group except for Benfica.) 2. Juventus (I cAn’T rEmEmBeR bUt MaYbE I tOoK dRuGs Or SoMeThInG. What made me believe THIS Juve side would top THIS Benfica side? I guess I still have the Serie A dominant Juve times imprinted in my head or something. Juve not being in the UCL knockouts just seemed weird. Just like Barcelona last year.) 3. Benfica (I should know you mustn’t underestimate Benfica after what happened last year with Ajax. And yet I did. Unbeaten… unbeaten in all competitions still and it’s November. So impressive. I’m glad to see that David Neres is doing some good things again.) 4. Maccabi Haifa (They were awfully close from snatching that Europa League spot from Juventus. I’m impressed they got that win. I expected them to get humbled [which did happen in basically all the other matches.]) Groups correct: 1/8 💩 Advancing teams correct: 11/16 🤷 Total spots correct: 14/32 🤢🫥
This is why a predition is just that , a predition. Benfica is very strong and highly motivated this season with a new coach Roger Schmidt . An unpredictable side and a team to be reckoned with .
Juventus only got Europa League because the away goals rule was scrapped, that's embarrassing considering the team they were level with was Maccabi Haifa
It is actually even worse when you look at the scheduling... Juventus's win against Maccabi Haifa happened on Yom Kippur (Jewish fast day) when most of Haifa's team (who are traditional Jews) could not play and they refused to allow a reschedule
As a Frankfurt Fan, i gotta say, that i also thought, the loss of Kostič would hit harder, and it did at the start of the Season. Our coach organized the team quite good, so a lot of props to him
Good luck to ALL the Portuguese teams. FC PORTO ; SL BENFICA; SPORTING CP ; SC BRAGA! And i liked the honesty of this man. Not because of Portuguese teams compliments but because he talked about all teams in such an honest way. Also seems a cool friendly guy. I'll follow this channel.
Atletico has an ok history of doing well in the UCL but people tend to overlook the amazing history of portuguese clubs in the UCL that even with a fraction of the financial power have won 4 trophies so far, have a crazy amount of presences in the tournament and consistently go through the group stage, at least. But, like our food, our wine, our music, our language, our landscape, we're pretty bad at marketing our football so, people tend to think we're just a forgotten piece of land out there. But we're pretty chill, we don't mind.
Amine Harit said that they didn't know that they were qualified for Europa League, so that's why in the last minute they were all in the attack, in the last minute of the match they got countered attacked by Tottenham and lost the game, there was a miss communication with the team. they frustrated me tbh.
2020:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16? Because they lost João Félix . 2021:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16? Because they lost Ruben Dias 2022:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16? Because they lost Darwin Nuñez 2023: why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16? Because they lost Enzo, Antonio Silva,... This is the toxic cycle of social media: Just because Benfica doesn't make part of Top 5 leagues. They are only known for the players they lost to nediatic clubs in the Top 5 leagues. That's sad
The fact that no-one talks about Giakoumakis and people only talk about Furuhashi, McGregor, Mooy.... But tbf Giakoumakis is the best player at Celtic and Celtic could have got more points if he started over Furuhashi
I honestly did think Benfica was going to beat Juve but I didn't expect them to finish top. But when I think about it, it looks logical because as long as PSG keep Mbappé they can't win against a team of their own caliber. Why? Well it's like Mbappé causes a disease within the team which makes them unable to win against a team that has some quality while it's the easyest thing for them to play against a small team and tear them completely apart.
It’s called egoism, and there’s nothing we can do about it, but as a Benfica fan, I do have to admit that we’ve got David Neres who seems to have the same con, but at least we’re not focusing only on him and we still play well without spending millions for nothing Benfica having the first place is making me proud, even if I thought that PSG could be a worthy opponent, at least it was close till the end and now we’re closer and closer to our final goal : win the Champions for the first time in almost 60 years
@@legnd3720 I like Benfica too you know, but I wouldn't consider myself a real Benfica fan because I have one or two favorite clubs in every big competition. Benfica is my clear favorite in Portugal, and second is Estoril but they're from a whole different level. My overall favorite is FC Chelsea from England. I like PSG too but I would like them even more if they would get rid of their front three and replace them properly. My personal picks for that would be Sadio Mané, Darwin Núñez and Antony. The club I hate most is Barça so I can only thank you and your club for taking them out last year in the groupstage. I don't really think that Benfica can do much more than the last 8 but if they show the world that they can I'm all for it. As long as they don't take Chelsea out. I wish you and Benfica all the best for the future.
I think group D was the most risky group just because literally any team could finish in any position so If you had a bet on any team In group D you could PROBABLY gotten It right (It depends)
Get used to this Benfica...We got a real captain leading the club, Rui Costa will never compromise Benfica's image over some millions to his own pocket...After decades of corrupt presidents who got rich from Benfica without giving nothing back, we now have the kid that gave everything his entire career in every moment to this club, the kid who cried like a baby when he faced the love of his life in the pitch, the one who returned home to finish his journey hugging those who love him the most. The most competent, grateful, experienced and honest man for the job. And now we can make the world remember what Benfica Shield means in worldwide football.
Giving shakthar credit for playing well meanwhile Celtic carved up at least 2 clear cut chances per game every game and only struggled with finishing them... if Celtic could actually finish chances they’d be second place.
Benfica in recent years have the most quality school players in the world. Ajax is just marketing, they ONLY passed to quarter finals One time on recente years
Respect the biggest club in Portugal! I was in a bad mood that Benfica was going to the Europa League but when Benfica beat Maccabi Haifa 2-0 in Lisbon, I was happy because I knew my great Benfica was going to pass! when it was the game against PSG it was very difficult but we passed what matters!
To be realistic, I think that you can't really expect that much of barca rn, because a new team, even with top players, needs to get used to each other.

I think barcas biggest problem was injuries. As shit as they played against inter, they probably still would’ve won had they had their best defenders. 2. Borussia Dortmund (Quite a bit behind Man City, quite far ahead of Sevilla and Copenhagen. Knockouts were easily secured after last year’s disappointment. Put up a hell of a fight against Man City.)
3. Sevilla (If this club was a man, he would be called mr. Europa League. Sevilla very poor start, much like Leverkusen, made me believe they had a very, very, very slim chance of making it to the knockouts. They didn’t. But the gap between them and Copenhagen was there. I couldn’t imagine them finishing 4th.)
4. Copenhagen (Got a point against all of the teams. Quite impressive, but not enough.)
H
1. PSG (This pick seems so obvious to everyone. Most people were thinking it’d be Benfica and Juventus battling it out. PSG in first seemed like such a given. They breezed through the group except for Benfica.)
2. Just like Barcelona last year.)
3. Benfica (I should know you mustn’t underestimate Benfica after what happened last year with Ajax. And yet I did. Unbeaten… unbeaten in all competitions still and it’s November. So impressive. I’m glad to see that David Neres is doing some good things again.)
4. Maccabi Haifa (They were awfully close from snatching that Europa League spot from Juventus. I’m impressed they got that win. I expected them to get humbled [which did happen in basically all the other matches.])
Groups correct: 1/8 💩
Advancing teams correct: 11/16 🤷
Total spots correct: 14/32 🤢🫥
For me I got 3/8 groups correct
Group D
Group F

This is why a predition is just that , a predition. Benfica is very strong and highly motivated this season with a new coach Roger Schmidt . An unpredictable side and a team to be reckoned with .
Predition
Btw If Benfica had won all their UCL Finals they would have 9 UCL Titles. Sadly we only have 2 and lost the other 7 :/
''Juventus has really improved since last year''
That did NOT age well
I don't even know what he based that on to say it... apart from Kostic...
@@איתןשי wait really?? I’m a Benfica supporter, had no idea that happened
@@TiagoSilvaESC sadly yes :(
This is why if you look at Haifa's style of play you will see a massive difference between that game and any other
As a Frankfurt Fan, i gotta say, that i also thought, the loss of Kostič would hit harder, and it did at the start of the Season. Our coach organized the team quite good, so a lot of props to him
Next Europa League and Conference League?
Not even over yet
@@garrincha9249
They will be really soon.
@@jarmoliebrand2005 ok now he'll publish them i guess
Good luck to ALL the Portuguese teams. FC PORTO ; SL BENFICA; SPORTING CP ; SC BRAGA!
And i liked the honesty of this man. Not because of Portuguese teams compliments but because he talked about all teams in such an honest way. Also seems a cool friendly guy. I'll follow this channel.
In 1 word "shame! Shame! " Praise the surprise and your reaction to Benfica 1st place! 😉
Benficaaaaaa!!! The return of the king! Regards of Portugal
2020:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16?
Because they lost João Félix .
2021:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16?
Because they lost Ruben Dias
2022:Why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16?
Because they lost Darwin Nuñez
2023: why do you think Benfica won't reach the last 16?
Because they lost Enzo, Antonio Silva,...
This is the toxic cycle of social media:
Just because Benfica doesn't make part of Top 5 leagues.
Never underestimate a portuguese club
I told you about Benfica in the first prediction😉🤣
Nobody believed me
We benfiquistas knew 🦅❤️
Hey man!
I really enjoy your videos. Concise yet substantial and it's just easy to listen to you (not your hyped buddy lol).
i am sad of Werners injury 😔 he is out of the world cup and he was dominating with his team
As a Benfica supporter I must comment your prediction: AHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
will you be doing a final world cup prediction at any point??
He already did it I think
@@pavlemarinkovic8640 oh my bad
I will be doing another final one. That last one was just an update
It’s called egoism, and there’s nothing we can do about it, but as a Benfica fan, I do have to admit that we’ve got David Neres who seems to have the same con, but at least we’re not focusing only on him and we still play well without spending millions for nothing
Benfica having the first place is making me proud, even if I thought that PSG could be a worthy opponent, at least it was close till the end and now we’re closer and closer to our final goal : win the Champions for the first time in almost 60 years
@@legnd3720 I like Benfica too you know, but I wouldn't consider myself a real Benfica fan because I have one or two favorite clubs in every big competition.
@@gijsvaneenige6585 thanks buddy, I wish you to have your clubs going as far as possible too 🙏
I think group D was the most risky group just because literally any team could finish in any position so If you had a bet on any team In group D you could PROBABLY gotten It right (It depends)

Isto é o que acontece quando subestimas alguém !
RESPECT BENFICA!!
Giving shakthar credit for playing well meanwhile Celtic carved up at least 2 clear cut chances per game every game and only struggled with finishing them... if Celtic could actually finish chances they’d be second place.
For Chelsea’s best scenario out of 3 clubs:
Sevilla
Leipzig
Club Brugge
Worst scenario out of 3 clubs:
PSG
Inter Milan
Borussia Dortmund
Im a Benfica fan and im beliving that we can be on Champions League Finals because we are too strong this year
Benfica in recent years have the most quality school players in the world. Ajax is just marketing, they ONLY passed to quarter finals One time on recente years

I said that in a comment to you in your first prediction video and letss gooo! I was right about my benfica XD

can you react to you predictions on conference league. Im a Djurgården fan and you predicted that we were going to end up at forth. We did smash our group with 5/6 wins and 1/6 draw
I think barcas biggest problem was injuries. As shit as they played against inter, they probably still would’ve won had they had their best defenders. Europa is harsh considering that seeing them in the ro16 wouldn’t look out of place. Though inter must get credit for fighting hard to get through, even if they got some calls their way they showed a lot of character and fight
Man i was searching for this. Kounde and Araujo wer out, Ref robbes us against Inter and Bayern ( first leg ) + we are in a rebuilding stage if you know i think over 2 or 3 years ( Maybe 1 but let's see ) we are ready to compete with the highest level again. Visca el Barca💙❤
