Defense lawyer is the person who defends the accused or the respondent( the person claimed guilty). He/She makes a reply to the writ. Like in the civics book of class 8, there was a case " The state vs Laxman
So in that case, the lawyer from laxman's side was the defense lawyer

Public prosecutor have an proper office where they can train associates. One of them is the boss (the prosecutor). The prosecutor can't have a personal team,but it has an entire office where it can pass of cases n ask his juniors to be present instead of him.
