- Leslie demonstrates how to cover a large teardrop bead with netting stitch to create a lovely charm or earring. Uses a 12x18mm teardrop bead and size 15/0 seed beads. Knowledge of netting stitch would be useful.
A clear and simple tutorial with very few supplies-perfect! What a nice way to showcase some special Charlottes 💓
Many thanks--I really appreciate!!
I have some really ugly wooden beads and have been trying to think what to do with them after watching this I know what I will be doing and the first step is to spray paint the wooden beads with a yummy shiny colour and then stitch the netting around the wooden beads 🤔 thank you for sharing a brilliant idea with us all 🤗🤗
Love it!
Beautiful! Thank You for sharing your precious time, talent, resources, knowledge and skills with ALL of us! Hugs 2 U!

Very helpful. I’m doing this stitch around a found object
Thank you Leslie
Hermoso trabajo.
I adore your beading style. These remind me of Faberge eggs! Will share on my blog (beadinggem) so others can come visit.
Thank you! Do keep me posted! :-)
I will be sharing it on my blog nearer Easter!!

Impressive thank you.
Leslie, I love your designs! I've already made your brickstitch-around-a-pearl earrings, and I want to try this one too. I'm having trouble finding the crystals you use, though. Any idea where I should look?
Hi and thank you! I googled 18x12mm teardrop bead (as opposed to 12x18) and got some results on etsy and eBay. The ones I have I got at a bead shop (now closed). I have used a Swarovski one for years, but it has been discontinued (I noticed when I was googling that Fire Mountain has some back in stock though!!).
The other thing I would say is that you can use other sizes of teardrops or round beads--figure out how many beads you need for the length of the bead, and count out how many units of netting, either 5 or 7 beads per unit. Does that make sense? Hope that helps, anyway. :-)
Thanks! 18mm is a much better search term, and I've found lots of options now. I appreciate your help, and I'm sure I can also use other sizes.
