Scoters are known to most of us as winter visitors, usually far off shore. How can we tell the difference between the species, when we see them far out to sea in poor viewing conditions? It's surprisingly easy!

0:21 - identification has to rely on what? What is jizz? Right - I've looked it up now, we're OK. It is as I heard - Jizz. This is slang for the 'general appearance of a bird'. Would have been nice if you had explained that in the video.
