  • Hope this helps anyone in a bind that has had the same luck I did trying to change my crank sensor...note make sure to thread the eye bold in slowly so it catches and makes it's own threads .dont blow them out

    Thank god, I was hoping someone would have encountered the same issue with this. My 4.7 (4.7 and 3.7 are basically the same just v8 version) in my Durango has been throwing the crank sensor code for a while now just kinda ignored it until it finally gave out completely yesterday. Start pulling it and of course it snapped in the block. Was trying to avoid drilling into it but it looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do. Shout out to Dodge for putting it in the most jackass location. lol

    Man thanks a lot for this vid. Mine was even worse. I stupidly let a buddy of mine chisel it out with a blade screwdriver and he chipped it away about an inch deep…angle drill 1/8 pilot hole and a 4 inch deck screw with vice grips and about 500 baby taps with a hammer and she finally came out! Thanks again!

Unfortunately I'm due to change both cam and crank sensors again because auto zone sells cheap shit and the seals are leaking like a sivv..glad you were able to get it out

      Just make sure you thread it in very slow you dont want to strip the threads it makes also try spraying lube around the sensor and pull straight out ..dont wiggle it back and forth as that will oblong the tight seal you just made with the eye bolt..good luck hope it works for you

    You did great, me WITH A ridiculous 2009 3.5 Dodge Journey, even the garage did not know a thing, here in Canada, been on this for 3 months, broke of scrapped the guts out and plastic housing inside, even small pick the whole vehicle was moving while I was pulling, noting, e bit of the outer part still there just seen one..!!! video with steel weld and one guy had to use the plastic one so just ordered on Amazon since Canadian Tire is worthless, nothing in stock, so hopefully after months can get out, and like you every vid I have seen ', oh came out like butter.''... riiiiight...! or if was metal could pinch it no DODGE AND their plastics... so thank you for saying it and showing us, I used that same eye screw and just broke the plug attach part.. and with a damn neighbor, that even calls the cops, just for fun... so happy you got that out...!

    You can also use a voltage tester on your crankshaft and camshaft sensor and if it's giving proper voltage then that's not your problem and you don't have the stress of taking them out.

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  2 роки тому

      It actually ended up being dirty rain water getting into my fuel tank from the pump ring at the top .yes I definitely do things the hard way hahah

    • @chandies
      @chandies 2 роки тому

      Just the opposite. If it's giving the correct voltage, then it IS the sensor. Incorrect voltage means it's broken wires or a bad PCM. Pin 2 and Pin 3 should have about 5 volts between them when the key is on.

    2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Crank Shaft Sensor bolt thread messes up on Engine. Now can not tight bolt on Crank Shaft Sensor and even I replace Sensor it will be loose again soon because bolts thread is messed up, any solution.

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому +1

      Nope it turned out I was getting dirty water in the gas tank the top ring rotted out and every time it rained water would puddle up on top of tank and enter it clogging up the injectors..try siphoning the fuel and see if you have water in tank

    i have the same issue with my daughters Chrysler Sebring. Is there anything behind the sensor that i could hurt if i drill or use a screw to deep in the sensor? I read someone used a red hot nail and they stuck it into the broken sensor so I doubt there's anything behind the sensor that could be damaged but was curious. What a pain!

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  5 днів тому

      the inside of the block is on the other side like a channel. Just be cautious because there is a metal magnet on the end of the sensor . make sure it doesn't dislodge and fall Into the block .sorry for the late response

    I have a question hope someone can help me … what happens if a small piece of metal or plastic falls into the camshaft or where the camshaft is ?

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  11 місяців тому

      I mean hopefully it was a super small part and only plastic and no metal if so it will get bounced around in side the motor and hopefully eventually get ground down to a pulp and end up in the oil pan . but depending how big of a piece it is and if it's metal or plastic potentially can cause some damage depending what it makes contact with
