- This is also my 3rd best in score, 2nd best in lines, along with being my highest score I've ever gotten in quals. also if you told someone that level 70 would be your second best from 18 a year ago they'd have laughed you out of the room

I think it's because they don't often do 18 starts in their free time, there's far more potential gain to be had practicing level 29 rolling

@@EricICX LOL. We need a Grandmasters tier for Eric to play against stackrabbit and alpha zero tetris variation. But for real tho, half of pb is a bit low for a smurfing threshold. I think 60-65% is a much better line. Otherwise, someone like Koryan could qual at like 700k and not be smurfing in CTT1, which feels weird. But I know you don't make the rules, it's just super funny the system says u are smurfing and that's what got me thinking
@@ngc_man25 it's a case by case basis, we have a rule that if your pb is between 600-1.4 a qual below half your pb is an auto reject, doesn't mean meeting half your pb is always gonna be accepted or pass as "not smurfing"

Sometimes I wonder what Alexey Pajitnov, the original Russian creator of Tetris, thinks of all this. His design obviously never meant the game to be playable at this number of lines. Or at least, he probably never imagined it would be. He's only 67, has he ever been a presence in this new world of Tetris competitive play?
he counted the finals down in 2019, and gave the pieces, so he definitely knows about it and stuff lol
