How Ladurée Makes Millions Of Macarons With A 130-Year-Old Recipe | Insider Food
Macarons are so french even our president is named Macaron
Lmao😂
😂😂😂😂
Yes..they even taste delicious......just like your president❤
@@omfriend he's so tasty that we're gonna put him on the guillotine 😏
@@DatLyrix don't do that otherwise Moslems will take over France hahahahahahahahha
My mom visited their Paris location and brought me back a box. The flavor and texture was next-level (despite the 16 hour plane ride they had to endure)-- well worth the price tag, if you can afford a few!
oh yummy that sounds amazing
next level with eggwhite out of the plastic can :DDD
I've been to a Ladurée location in the past and they're so good! There's not many macaron places around here, but I'm sure to order a box of them at least once a month 🤤
Mais, c’est trop cher
thank you for the information I will definitely going now
La Duree makes such great macarons … for newbies and tourists that is. Those in the know don’t go there; they buy their macarons at Pierre Herme or Carette
Pierre Hermé are not good now, by wanting to please everybody, they reduced the taste of each flavor. And you should try yourself, eat one of them without knowing the taste, and you won't be able to tell what it is, if it's not caramel/chocolate/vanilla
@@mathisconde4490 so if I was in the market for an intense fruity flavor that ships internationally, which one's the best?
@@deathpyre42 homemade, because you are able to use less sugar and more fruit for the filling, because you don't need to preserve them 😅 In which city are you ?
Pierre Herme is pretty bad. Its way too sweet.
@Khaled Alanani
Thank you. You said what I was going to. Its a tourist trap.
Even in the US, if youre in a decent sized city you should be able to find a real French pâtisserie owned by a French pâtissier that has pastries and macaron made in house and light years better than anything at Laduree. I know my US city has 2 really great ones, both owned and operated by French expats.
Laduree is high end the way people think Godiva chocolate is high end. Maybe it was at one point. But nowdays its all mass produced and relies on branding and hype to give the illusion of quality.
Best gift I’ve ever gotten, and I’ve been in love with them since!
Macarons packed in the stylish looking Chest with the tassel is gorgeous....
Every time she called it a “cookie” a part of me died
THANK YOU omg
Couldn't agree more
I cringed every time she said 'la doré'. If you're doing a video/blog, etc., please learn the proper pronunciation of your topic.
Yes, it is kind of disturbing. 😇
Don't act all fancy.
These macaroons look fantastic overall. The choice of ingredients is simply top notch.
😮 They are nothing like macaroons! These are divine and delicate.
@@MyChemRomance The macaroon macaron debacle will never end haha
@@alenanela1743 True, so true. Lol
Tried them in Paris..
I’ll just say that they’ve done wonderful marketing 😃
Amazing ! These is the paradise of macarons lovers ♥️
i love macarons!!!!
My mouth won't stop watering during this video haha
I’ve had these in Paris and there are many macaron shops that are just as good and cost way less. So it’s overpriced and more a brand thing than anything else.
I've always wanted to try one of those. That and a churro.
Hibernation stage is a fancy way to say pretty much frozen
I love the narrators voice. It’s soothing ❤️
Been to a Laduree in Geneva! Wonderful experience ❤
I went to Paris in October for afternoon high tea there, very long line. Such a mood there 🇫🇷 it was worth a visit.
Cream biscuit 😍😁
French knows how to make quality snacks and food. such a rich country with amazing food
Where is Claudia ? I have not seen her in awhile...
Nice ♥️♥️
Addicted to these. Pity we don’t have it where I live. I always get them when I’m in France.
Not a fan but they’re beautiful and what an art.
Never tasted a macron but made them at home using home made blanched almonds and came out perfect and they tasted wonderful.. yet to taste the ones in shops 😅
Macarons and macaroons are two different pastries. These are macarons and macaroons are like small coconut cupcakes.
Oooh, I went there once when I went to France
Marie Antoinette tea? Idk what it would taste like, but it sounds divine to try!
from food insider to insider food
Funny that this video was titled Laduree but in the scene from Gossip Girl, Blair was eating Pierre Herme 😂
OMG their Rose ice cream is amazing in NYC.
I got my box from Costco 😁 made in France, it's too sweet for me 🤭 I love the cream brulee, it's not sweet without the sugar packet
Even if it's made in France, you are not guaranteed to get good ones. I promise you should try again at Ladurée or directly in a specializes shop in France:) Most bakeries in France won't even have good macarons
Lol, Costco macarons are like California red wines. A joke!
ate 6 pieces box in Geneva, i think it was around 25 swiss franc, worth it
its just different than any other macarons ive tried so far
i can't with the way she says ladurée :O
Honestly macrons are not the hardest thing to make at home if you don't care about looks (which I know is a huge deal with them) but I like how they taste and if taste is the only thing you are looking for they are not all that finicky with a $12 electric hand mixer
Brutti ma buoni
Overrated. I've tasted macrons and to be honest, chocolate chips are much better. Even the subway cookies are better. Oreo is even better. Maybe it's just me🤷
I ate 2 macarons from Laduree ( fullbox) they are ok good but not impressive, today i tried the macarons from Lidl and honestly taste the same. No need to make home Lidl selling 10 pieces for 6€. 5 different flavours
definitely overrated@@sofiaglove
Well with 3 dollars each he doesnt only make millions of macarons ,he surely makes millions with them
“If it’s not perfect it’s tossed” I’ll take them!
yeh, you'd think they could at least sell them off as "seconds" not waste them! That's what we do where I'm from (with everything)
Nice
I think I’m one of maybe ten people who doesn’t give a crap for how macaron tastes lol. However I went to Laduree in Paris earlier this year and their croissants are very underrated 🤤
They’re definitely not my favorite. I find them generally over sweet. If they have a nice zesty lemon filling…maybe. But they’re not my first choice.
I love these but eat them with moderation! They’re a bit tricky to make but, I (an amateur) somehow succeeded lol. 😁 La Durée for me is still the best! ❤️
If you go to Amorino Gelato (locations in several cities), their signature offering is to take three different flavors, mold them into petal shapes around the cone, and place a macaron in the center. My personal favorite combo is strawberry, mango, and chocolate, with a vanilla macaron 😊
I used to work at a Paul location in the US! I would pretend a macaron was dropped or broken all the time so I could snack on it lol
Working in Laduree Paris
Gcc
Proud to be
The macaron are amazing but could the voiceover have made a little more effort to pronounce the name properly? LaDurée not Lodderay
A wonderful Italian desert
French 🤓☝️
I literally thought Laduree was a fashion store until this video.
I get my macarons from the Franprix. They taste just as good as these.
This is wrong, you are either lying of you have the taste of a boar
Macrons is a good recipe
Claudia should have narrated this one.
2:46 3 Sri Lankan Tamils, so many Parisian bakeries and restaurants have Sri Lankan Tamils in the back kitchen
A greedy, feral little animal part of me wishes macarons didn't have to be so expensive or laborious to make, because they are one of those foods that give me the deep urge to scarf down dozens of them in one sitting with wild glee
😋
he’s so cute
Not a single one of the ingredients he listed were expensive enough to justify 3 dollars for a mediocre cookie.
Why would you want overpriced factory produced stale ass macarons that most times aren’t even made in France when you can get fresh ones made daily at small businesses? This is a tourist trap
I love macarons. If it's expensive I'll buy one or two. If it's affordable, I'll buy half a dozen or more if I want to share. To be honest, they all taste similar.
Or learn to make them yourself, it's a process but once you get it right, they're a lot of fun
You've obviously never been to the Ladurée in Paris and had any- I can assure you it is not a tourist trap. The lines wrap out the door for these delights.
@@TheFlowerQueen With this mentality you can do anything yourself... And macarons are so painful to make that it's often just better to appreciate them without needing to go in the kitchen;)
Did an American narrator actually just call them 'cookies' :|
This january we went to miami Lincoln road and Ladurée was closed. So heartbreaking. 💔
Believe it or not. I never had a Macaron. I guess, I am too cheap to buy one. lol And I live in the tri-state area. And I've walked pass by Ladurée so many times.
Where is Claudia? Haven't seen videos of her in months
Now get Joe to review them. 😉
Thank you for the correct pronunciation. It’s not macarOOn people😅
I had their cookbook a few years ago. The macaron recipe didn’t work 😂
when is Insider Food going to make a "Dimmie Shops of Brisbane" episode? jus' sayin'...
So this is what Mattia Binotto is doing now
1:57 instead of tossing imperfect macarons, give them to me
Every time she calls them a "cookie" I just cringe. No, no they are not cookies.
Yeah. Between that and the mediocre pronunciation of the French names, I wasn’t impressed by the narrator.
I ate one in Paris. I was very disappointed. I enjoy Oreos more...and nice fresh chocolate chip pecan the best.
Could we speak of Blanc Mange?
Head chef's accent 😍
Macaon
Stop calling them cookies! Macarons are their own thing, not a cookie
I tried them in Paris. I also made them once. Still don’t like it 😂
Ingredients, baking process, and a LOT spent on marketing. The tricky part is to get both shells the same size, but that is managed by a machine.
How do they make the vegan version they sell in the US?? 🤔🤔
Chickpea
I am not hurting financially, however, there's no way I'd spend $3 for one of those!!! (They are not that hard to make).
why does he remind me of Ted nivison
You lost me, when you forgot the nuns. Macarons were a bi-product of a dessert called Blanc Mange.
I prefer pierre herme
I don't know but something looks fishy when you have a very young person as a head chef in a very old company.
Crying in almond-allergy. :
heh for $3 a piece i expect them to be fully handmade
Oreo itu makaron yaaa
Trigerred french be like "It's not COOKIE it's MACARON and only macaron!"
I prefer Pierre Herme.
I love the ones from Pierre Herme. My friend brought me back a few from Paris and after 4 days they were still amazing.
@@kugatsu16They are sold in Saks Fifth Ave in NYC
@@elibrod9981 sadly I live in Canada 🥲
story is especially crazy when you consider the cookies taste like shit
The way she says macaron drives me crazy
I'm probably one of the few who thinks macaron are over-rated. Far too sweet for my taste.
Wheres Claudia?
Id their feet don't look too nice and neither do the bottoms of their shells. I'd be pretty disappointed. Especially since they say they use the italian meringue... the feet should be much more uniform and consistent using that method. I haven't tried one of there but by looks I'm not impressed (I am impressed by the volume they can produce though)
Neahhhh! Best macaron are made in Moscow. Fact!
Are those Indian guys working in the factory?
As a good Brazilian I need to say: it's not macaroon, it's bolacha. 🤣
Macaron… macaroons are made with coconut… both good though.
Their macronage is excellent. Some flavours are awesome like citron others are meh like pistachio.
💗❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎
🤪👍
My question is, with the comically inflated price, all the colours of them are natural? I would not want to pay for top of the line baked goods only to discover the beautiful colour is simply the result of red-40 dyes.
of course colours that strong are artificial!
@@mehere8038 That is my assumption as well. However, i have picked many berries and grown beets in my time. You'd be amazed at how effective they can be at dying things..such as your skin! Lol
In Europe 130 years is a big deal. Lol.
"Ladooray" - how you americans butcher the french language 😂
There’s basically no patissier skill behind this it’s made by machines and then sold for 3€ 😳
I can’t with the pronunciation of laudree it’s so cringe i hope she doesn’t talk about anything outside the USA
if u can hear this laudrée, I just wanna say ur macarons and food r so gd and everytime I visit paris u r one of the many cafes I must visit 🥰
