Thank you for posting this!!!! Djondon/ Wolosodon is one of my favorite rhythms and dances! This video helps me remember this choreography I loved so much while part of Nsaa!!! So grateful for all the beautiful souls who have been and are a part of Nsaa.
Wolosodon Djondon is just a beautiful dance within itself. I am an instructor at a college here in Colorado and I am teaching this dance. Beautifully done ladies, and the drummers were and are awesome!
Four years later I've come back to see this wonderful video! It's a vital and inspiring as ever!!!! So glad this combination of Wolosodon steps is preserved!
Djondon and Wolosodon are the same dance... Its like having a nickname. The dance is not related to the African American Slave trade. The slave that they speak of is a caste system that exists in Mali. Ira Bond

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The Djondon portion is the slow part that happens in the beginning, and the Wolosodon part is the fast part.
