Yay, the Ritter Sport reaction! 😀 And holy smokes, you got the big "Bunter Mix" of 84 pieces! I was originally thinking of the small package with 12 pieces! 😅 Also because those would have some different flavours. But the big mix, hey, it's still good chocolate, and they can also make nice little gifts for people if you can't eat them all on your own! And i see you got a bunch of other flavours seperately anyway.
The little ones can be "folded open" just like the big ones though! Instead of fiddling with opening it, you can have it literally open in one second that way 👍
9:50 Attagirl, the first proper "breaking open" of a Ritter Sport, after some initial struggles! 🤣Man, i was grinning so much throughout this video. And you even gave me a shoutout a few times. I will treasure this moment. This video is going into my favorites for sure!
I love the interaction between you guys, you're always giggling at your mom's statements and both having such a good time together, that's goals.
Mom: "It's like a salty caramel without the caramel." Amy: "So, salty!" 😂
Mom: "I do know a lot of nuts." Amy: "That's nothing to brag about!° You guys are a comedic duo, i can't! 🤣
16:39 "Super creamy!!!" Haha! Mom was riding that sugar high? That was straight out of one of those deliberately corny commercials!
Funny, some of those packages like at 17:34 have a Dutch writing on them instead of German or English. But they're all Germanic languages, so with a bit of imagination, you can often guess what they're saying even if you don't speak German or Dutch (i would assume). Yes, hazelnuts broken in half can look like that, white as a ghost inside sometimes. I've never seen unopened chocolate with mold, even if it's months over the expiration date, 100% sure it was good. BTW with chocolate, the expiration date only means that that they can't guarantee the original taste anymore after that, not that it goes bad immediately. I ate a Ritter Sport that was half a year over the expiration date, it was still perfect! There is really no way for it to go bad easily when it's vacuum-sealed like that, no moisture or anything can get to it.
Anyway, i greatly enjoyed this video, i was either smiling, grinning or laughing through most of it! Glad to see you liked a bunch of those flavours. It should be easy to see now why this is such a popular brand of chocolate, inexpensive and broadly available (at least here) but high quality at that.

      Hi Mike!
Thanks again for recommending Ritter Sport and for your feedback about the video! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. I shared your lovely comments with Mom and she couldn't stop smiling, too. 😁
We enjoyed the chocolates very much! Attempting to follow your tips and recommendations made the experience even more fun. And now, my new habit is enjoying the Butter Biscuit and Cornflakes chocolates with my morning coffee. haha
Oh! So that was Dutch writing on the packaging? Interesting! Also, it's good to know that eating expired chocolate should be ok because I have one more batch of old chocolates here. 😅 They are Cadbury chocolates. I was debating whether to make a video with them or to throw them away because they are well past the expiration date. After reading your confident opinion on the subject, I think we'll give them a try! 😉

@@amyslittlebigworld Yes, i really enjoyed the video, and i even ate some Ritter Sport myself later (flavour: "KakaoKlasse 81% Die Starke aus Ghana" meaning 81% cocoa, the strong one from Ghana)! I love me some dark chocolate. Not a whole package of course, just a quarter of it. Also, the darker the chocolate, the more "bang for your buck", because the cocoa is easily the most expensive ingredient. For white chocolate they can just use cheap stuff like lots of refined sugar, for dark chocolate the cocoa will be the top ingredient, the most valuable one and the healthiest (because of the content of so-called flavonoids).
About the writing, yes, some were Dutch, for example the "Milk whole almonds", had Dutch "Melk hele Amandel" on it, in German it would be "Milch ganze Mandel" or "Milch volle Mandel" instead. If you squint your eyes, you can see the similarities between those Germanic languages. It's similar for other language groups like the Romance languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French...). There, if you know one of them, you can also often guesstimate the meaning of things in the others.
Yes, expired chocolate is totally different from expired meat products or something like that. As long as the chocolate wasn't lying in the sun all summer or something. You can have it still good months later, no problem. Of course, you'd give them a quick once-over, if they look or smell weird, it's abort mission. But i think the broken hazelnut was giving you a wrong impression there, couldn't see it that clearly, but it's the most logical explanation.
