I must say,I'm impressed with the l.a. totally awesome. It cleaned very well for the price that you pay for it. I'm also disappointed with the tide,it didn't seem to clean nearly as expected. i guess you dont always gets what you pay for. Keep the good videos coming, thanks.
I just bought a 45 pack of the Hygenic clean XL tide pods. I want to try dollar tree but it like a 30 min drive . Maybe when I'm in the area I'll walk inside that store 😮
Been using the LA’s Totally awesome for years, and I absolutely love it. A lot of folks don’t understand that a surfactant is a surfactant. Most of your laundry soaps have them. They all do the same exact thing. It’s all the different additives that are pushed as sales pitches. Also, you can use some laundry detergents to clean carpets with, vs buying the “carpet cleaner solution” I’ve cleaned my carpets with laundry detergent for years, and it’s about 75% less money vs “carpet” cleaning detergents, BUT use at your own risk ⚠️ All in all here, I do absolutely recommend LA’s detergent.
I can’t buy either of these detergents in my country but stayed for the entertainment! And it’s still cool to see the less expensive detergent perform like a brand name.
@@thecleanpsycho I’m in Australia and my favorite brand name detergent is Cold Power liquid which is made by Colgate/Palmolive and used to be sold there until the 70’s. When I’m not living lavish buying brand name laundry detergent I get Almat powder which cleans okay, but the Cold Power fragrance is a winner.
This video is so well put together and done. A little lengthy, but very good! I also couldn't have been more shocked & disappointed by your results! I would have thought the watery LA's would have performed like crap! To see you receive almost similar results is shocking. I definitely will have to give some a try. I know that their Spray Pre-Treater for Laundry does a fantastic job, and I used to use the Dollar Tree Woolite. Thanks again!
I am shocked. Tide needs to do better. I wonder if you did a second wash if it would have done better. Either way, the La's Totally Awesome detergent did a solid job.
I don’t have a DT in my area so I can’t try it. But I have been using the A Jax which I get at Wal Mart for $1.78. I was very impressed it works very well for a budget detergent. Cleans great and has a decent smell. Got all the funky smells out.
I agree. I have so many videos backed up on my list but I will eventually get to the Ajax team of detergents because they do a really good job for the price & just in general in my experience.
Thanks for this video! This was so helpful and now I know to save my money and just try to find L.A. Totally awesome. I don't use Tide anyway because i just don't care for the smell, but I love Gain. I don't know if you have a Gain vs. Tide review (I'll check) but my guess if L.A. Totally Awesome can stand up against Tide it can stand up against gain too. And as far as the smell, well, that's what scent boosters are for! lol. I just started using those and they are expensive. So using a cheaper detergent will make me feel better about using them anyway. Thanks again for the review!
You know I don't have a tide vs gain review up but that is definitely something I can do. I was actually seeing what video i could film on Sunday so i might have to test that one out.
That summer mist smell comming from new york city lol . I noticed tide quality has went down its not as good as it use to be so i made the switch to persil cause i feel like the quality is better . Very dispointing that tide cleans just as well as soap that came from dollar tree and tde cost 12x the price .
Yeah it honestly surprised me. I thought it would be better but I’m going to get the Tide Ultra Stain Release one because someone told me it does a much better job than original Tide.
@@thecleanpsycho the only tide i will still buy is the tide hygienic clean heavy 10x duty and thats only if i cant find persil in my opinion that tide is the only on really still worth buying . Can u test out the fels napa stain bar by purex one day ? I been using that bar i think its pretty good for 1$ at walmart.✨️
@@aliciahinman3388 I can, I am going to have to search for it because someone else asked for me to test that, but they don’t sell it at any of my local grocery stores.
We use the LAs Totally Awesome spray cleaner for all sorts of things and it works wonders. It can even unclog a drain so I'm excited to try the laundry detergent. So far I've purchased the green container. I can't remember the name of the scent but I didn't like the way it smelled when I got it home and opened it but I know sometimes the smell in the bottle doesn't reflect the smell after the loads finished like with Percell. Thanks for this comparison. It was helpful.
The simerlarity in the efficacy is due to using too much Tide. If the Tide was more concentrated than the La Totally Awesome, using too much of it could cause the stains to stick to the cloathing due to residue build up of the detergent.
I'm more worried about body oils and odor. If it removes that then that's alright with me. I can see totally awesome detergent good if you work in an office and don't sweat that much
In my experience, it does a good job at body oils and odor. I have a job at a warehouse and it cleaves my clothes smelling fresh after the dryer. Again I didn’t like the smell of the detergent out of the bottle but after it washed and went though the dryer, you couldn’t smell anything. It just has a fresh linen smell.
Can you do the same exact test but do a 50/50 mix of water/detergent and spray and soak the stain and let them sit overnight and then wash them exactly how you did in this video. This where tide will shine and this isn't my opinion, but it's a fact. I don't think the generic will hold tides jockstrap ( so to speak ) 😂😂
On camera actually dollar tree wins as far as both in my personal visual opinion, I mean 12 bottles of that for the price of one of them I'll try that LA awesome next time
What do you mean by that. For my videos I check them on my computer, phone, tablet, and at least 2 of the 5 wireless headphones I have and they turn out fine there so if there’s an issue idk what to tell you???
one mistake I see never add detergent (Liquids) before adding water. If the machine is idle and you pour in a thin liquid it will go down the drain. Don't believe me pour some water in an idle machine watching it disappear.
@@thecleanpsycho My dad made washers for Roper (who made Kitchenaid, Whirlpool, GE, Kenmore, Roper, Frigidaire, Maytag really any american brand) in the 70's and 80's and he'd tell us to make sure the washer had started and some water was in it before adding detergent or you were pouring it down the drain. He would have known, he made them for 50 years. Just another tip he said the less bells and whistles the better the washer. I had a cheapo (brand new) Frigidaire washer and dryer that survived 6 moves and 22 years. For a family of six and I gave less 500 dollars for the set in 2000.
While I am blabbing, I was a staunch Tide or Persil user went to using the LA Awesome. I personally think the Oxygen in the blue bottle is the best (I have tried them all) .I too wait to get the big bottles too. I just keep a "good" detergent and maybe every 5th watch I will use something different.
@@Redmellibean Wow that’s amazing that he had all that experience!!! I recently bought the blue, green, orange, & purple bottle of the La’s totally awesome detergent and I’m going to do a side by side comparison to see if one actually cleans better than the other.
No, the La’s Totally Awesome detergent had a very light scent when it was washed but it faded away when I hung it to dry. The Tide was a little stronger in scent when I finished washing it.
Indeed. I didn’t think the results would be so close. I wonder when exactly the quality went down. Was it before the pandemic or after? I don’t have an old batch of Tide so I can’t compare but it’s something to think about.

Add an ounce of clear ammonia per load to the wash is a great laundry booster. It's cheap and it plus $ tree detergent cleans very well.

Yeah I am not the biggest fan of pods in general but I get it. I am just glad that La's totally awesome is still a solid option for people.
Yes that's OK , but if you have elderly people or pets in the home those Tide pods may look like candy and could be a hazard😮

I came across your video because I was looking for a detergent to clean my grandkids' clothes that didn't cost so much, but would do a decent job.
You should also do a wash with no detergent, so we can know that the detergents are effective.

Add 2 tablespoons of baking powder to the wash and use the soak cycle. See if that works.
FYI- if you don't push deep rinse it will just spray rinse which actually doesn't even hit the clothes I found out
Really, so do you recommend using the deep rinse every time or just occasionally?
Awesome. Thanks for sharing results.

I wonder what these results would be like in an old whirlpool top load washer.
Idk, from what I’ve read these washer machines used to be much better but then again that was before my time so I wouldn’t know any better.
