fun fact: This Halo song was made for free because Breaking Benjamin were huge fans of Halo.
Though they did it for free it totally worked out for the game's reputation. Halo fans who made YT videos used this song on their montages. ❤

In the original Halo 2 this song plays towards the end the level Gravemind in the Covenant Holy City High Charity. It's the very difficult part where Cortana says "You might want to sit this one out," and the Brutes are fighting the Elites and Hunters. There's no lyrics in the game version, it's just the instrumental version of the song. I'm not sure why it wasn't included in the Anniversary edition, maybe the game studio didn't want to pay Breaking Benjamin more money.

For what I heard, 343 did contact with Incubus, Breaking Benjamin and Steve Vai to return for Halo 2 Anniversary, but Steve Vai was the only one interested in returning to Halo
It’s still there in old graphics, so it wasn’t at risk of being removed from the game or anything if they didn’t pay to renew copyright or something. They genuinely just wanted a new song for new graphics

Ah yes....the theme song of when you just suddenly 'switch on' in Halo multiplayer and proceed from getting stomped to pulling a Killionaire in under a minute....or so the Halo 2/3 montages from back in 2007 would have me believe.

This song is about the Master Chief. "I'll be the one to save us all."
Breaking Benjamin realized the severity of the state of Humanity in Halo, and Master Chief ended up getting 'lucky' and saving Humanity while simultaneously destroying the Covenant.
This ended up aging very well. Long live Halo lol

Breaking Benjamin is one of my top 5 bands of all time. This isn't a music reaction channel but their albums from "Phobia" onward all sound exactly like this if you're interested in more music by them!
Phobia is definitely one of their best and arguably has the most Radio Play. Will say too that Dark before Dawn just goes so hard with so many good songs, but Dear Agony has my favorite Track 🤘Really hope they tour more this year, hopefully some International shows!

I'm a HUGE Breaking Benjamin fan myself and Phobia is probably my favorite album of theirs next to Dear Agony.
This song coming on at the end of Halo 2 is pretty much up there with Faunts M4 Part 2 playing at the credits of Mass Effect in terms of "Unexpected but very welcome licensed music" in a game.
I saw Breaking Benjamin open for Disturbed this past summer and they played this. It's such an awesome song

They play this live almost every show. I saw them with Papa Roach, one of the best concerts ever.
I was and still am a huge Breaking Benjamin fan and when I heard the instrumental version of this in Halo 2 as a kid it blew me away, still one of my favorite songs and I'm glad Breaking Benjamin is making music again.
Saw them play this live in 2010, I still remember the women next to me ask “why are they playing videos of a game?” Haha
There was a big controversy with Breaking Benjamin in 2011 where some of the members made an unauthorized remix of this very song, without the permission of the lead singer. This led to those members being fired by him.

Considering you’re stuck between 2 forces trying to kill each other and both forces also want you dead, the soundtrack was appropriate.

I still get a bit watery eyed remembering how excited I was for this release. I had a copy before I had an Xbox, we were playing CE at my friends house for literal hours every day. We'd beat the campaign on every difficulty and then restart it a few days later. I wanna go back

Theres a straight-up song by Incubus called "1st Movement of The Odyssey" that plays on the Arbiters mission when you hope in a banshee to fight the heretic airforces.

I was a little bit sad when I find this song didnt come back in the remaster... the piece and the scene together was so epic at the time.
If you like Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach and Three Days Grace, then I highly recommend Skillet and Disturbed, you'll love them!

Halo 2 was a juggernaut that came out swinging. Absolutely unhinged. You have to react to the Halo 3 song LvUrFR3NZ. It was the winner of a fan submission to get into the official soundtrack, and it's just Halo multiplayer the song.

Yeah, the anniversary version of H2 is amazing but this song is what makes me the game, specially Gravemind on original graphics, and I'm not even a BB fan, but this song is just the correct vibe to that Covenant civil war crossfire, even without the very appropriate lyrics (in-game, it is an instrumental version)

Are you planning on playing Halo ODST before jumping into Halo 3? I would definitely recommend that you do. Because ODST happens during Halo 2 and the first parts of Halo 3. But there are no spoilers for Halo 3 so no worries.
Something with a similar vibe is rumbling by SIM its from the anime attack on titan but it goes hard and theres an English version!!!
I really hope she knows that this song plays in the original halo 2 when you enter the last big battle with the arbitor and the hunters fight the brutes.

It wasn't in Halo 2 Anniversary because at the time Ben was very sick and had just fired the other members of the band for okaying an absolutely TERRIBLE remix of this song and a greatest hits album while he was still sick. They were in a legal battle over the rights to the name Breaking Benjamin (which Ben won since he IS Breaking Benjamin). They've since returned with an even better lineup and 2 new albums

You should check out the game Metal: Hellsinger, it features a lot of IRL metal singers from bands like Arch Enemy, Lorna Shore, Jinjer, Lamb of God, and System Of A Down. It gives Doom vibes, and there’s lots of screaming
