Just to be super clear, I'm not giving up flying. Selling the Enstrom is the first step in moving to a larger helicopter so I can bring my family along for my flying adventures. More fun heli videos coming soon!
The Enstrom couldn't have gone to a nicer guy. The one thing that shone through on this video (and did on every flying video) was your love of flying. Inspiring to become a helicopter pilot.
Thank you, Micah, very much for taking us on the last ride in the Enstrom. I think my allergies are kicking in, yeah that's it. Can't wait for you to get a new bird and we start seeing more videos. Thank you again, Micah. All the best.
Congratulations Micah, on the sale of your Enstrom helicopter! I have enjoyed many of your flight videos from it. Onward to new experiences! Congratulations Dr Sherman, on the purchase of your Enstrom helicopter! May you enjoy many, many years of safe travel on this aircraft!
Awwww... feel a bit sad too, But good to see you have sold it to such a friendly and humble man, sure he will take good care of the Enstrom. Wonder what your new helicopter will be...
Most important...N9285 kept you safe! Onwards and upwards. Looking forward to your next adventure. Looks like she will be well looked after in her new home. Continued safe skies for you Micah! Thank you for bringing us along.
12 months ago while we were all in lockdown you have provided an escape for us. Thank you for these helicopter rides. Being from Australia, L.A. is very much like here and great to see the city from the air. Looking forward to getting back to L.A.
Bittersweet moment for sure, but congrats on the sale and moving forward with the upgrade. Hey, funny thing...have been following and enjoying your channel for about a year, now. Some weeks ago, I was scrolling through my Ancestry matches and lo and behold, there was your name! Looks like we're 5th or 6th cousins. Small world. Happy flying, from your east coast cuz!
Congrats on the sale of your helicopter, Micah! It definitely seems to be going to a good home. But I have to say, after all the adventures you have shared with us, I think I am actually feeling a little of what you are feeling. Those were some fun times in the Enstrom, and now it's just time to move on to new adventures with you and your family. And I am sure that is going to be a lot of fun! Thanks for taking us all along with you!
Great Video !! What's the next aircraft purchase for you , Micah ? Congrats to Mark Sherman on the new Helo . By the way, at 65 yrs, I had my cataract surgery last year and other than some itchiness, I SEE this world clearly now, the haze has gone ! So, the rest of you oldies, IF you're wondering, the surgery is NO Big Deal ! Do it and lose the glasses .
Micah I would love a video that covers the numbers on the helicopter. Meaning what did you spend on it 6 years ago? How much did you spend in maintenance over your years of ownership? What you sold it for? How much flying time did you use it for? Etc
Im sad as well to see your Enstrom leave the channel. I started following your channel because of your fly-over videos. I know you're getting a new helicopter that is more suited for your family, but the Enstrom was a big part of the channel and is what I started watching your videos with. Very excited for whatever you buy and even more excited for the new content that will come along with it. Cheers to growing
Chino Airport has an awesome Warbids collection. Back in the day when I was more mom and pop I would sneak into all the cockpits. I can say Ive sat in most of the greats of WW2. Yes, the P-51D had the best visibility, by far....
I used to layover at LAX at least a couple of times a month on the A380. Your videos have kept me in touch with the city I love and I look forward to seeing more of them. But not as much as I look forward to getting back in the air, and getting back there! And great to hear you’re loving mountain life, as I’m missing my trips up to Big Bear as well! ⛷ 🚴♂️
Delivered a Bell 47 (G3B1) from Phoenix to Sarasota, FL back in the mid 70's. It was crossing Texas that my wife told me she "finally found the formula (boredom??) to sleep in the helicopter". Have a great trip home!! (PS: Love the Enstrom!)
Chad how many stops did you make with the Bell 47 from Phoenix to Sarasota? With the Enstrom you fiqured at a cruising speed of 85 mph and duration of 2hrs thats a range of around 160 to 170miles for every fill up. I'm sure the Bell 47 had a smaller range than the newer 280.
@@harsep It's been a loooong time, but as I recall with the 60-gallons of fuel and about 90-mph cruise we had right around 280-300 miles of range? Do not recall how many stops between Scottsdale and Sarasota, but "a bunch". A friend of mine was a sale/demo pilot for Enstrom and I got to fly the 280 a number of times. Nice little machine!
If you end up with a 44 you’ll be very satisfied. I’ve had a couple a 2009 then a 14. I would recommend the Raven 2. Fuel injection makes life easier! Safe flying
Thanks for the comment. I've chatted with other owners who share your sentiment. Good thought on the Raven 2 as well. After 7 years with fuel injection I'd rather not go back to worrying about carb heat.
Looks like it’s going to a good home! FYI, there’s a guy around town that drives an Isuzu Vehicross. Saw him at the store and he was not digging the idea of a KBB host do a review on his car. Probably thought I was crazy! I tried. 🤷♂️
I have never owned a helicopter but I've certainly felt pretty choked up any time I've sold a car I've loved and enjoyed for years. It's not the end of your helicopter story, though, just the end of the Enstrom chapter in that story, and it sounds like a new chapter will begin before too long. As great as the Enstrom was, this next one will be even better, as now your wife and daughter will become much more a part of your helicopter adventures--between the full-size Bronco on and off-road and your next helicopter above ground,, you'll either have to get a boat after that or take the family out into space as the next steps (maybe Elon will have the whole Mars thing figured out by then). And like others on here and as you said in your video, it sounds like the Enstrom is going to a great guy who will give it a great home. Hope he has a safe and fun journey back home to Florida.
Bittersweet selling your Enstom and all the wonderful videos you have created with it. Looking forward to your next endeavors and flying with the family :)
I would never have thought that you could take a helicopter like that cross country. With that in mind have you ever/would you consider going to the EAA AirVenture after you've got your new ride? I live in Wisconsin, and would be thrilled to meet you.
I know exactly how you feel. I just traded in my very first Harley motorcycle for a bigger and faster model. I was sad but happy at the same time. You never forget your first right? I’m excited to see what helicopter you decide to go with 🤙
Awesome video, but this is very sad! That being said, I’m excited to see what the future of this channel will bring and I’m so happy that the helicopter is going to a good home by the looks of things!😸😻😸
Hope you manage to get the new helicopter that suites your mission... selfishly as I love your helicopter vids. Saying that the thing that does really freak me out about Jetranger & Robinsons is the chance of mast bumping. If not a pilot but did start but not finish (wife and babies cost a fortune..lol).
