Point Reyes is one of my top places of the Bay and I drive up there whenever I have the time to go hiking or visit one of my close friends who built in the Woodacre-Lagunitas area a few years ago. So calm, charming, and friendly! Currently in Pacifica, unable to even rent there even if I wanted to mainly due to my already long commute to South San Jose, but I love the North Bay because of its infrastructure gradient ranging from city life (San Rafael, Novato), suburb life (Tiburon, Mill Valley, Muir Beach), and natural areas (Nicasio, Pt. Reyes Station, China Camp). The county has it all.

Wow, you really do know this place and, I agree about Point Reyes. I'm planning to do a video eventually on all the small coastal towns. It makes a great day trip to to spend a little time there. I also love Pacifica too though. :) And, a have a child who lives in San Jose. There can be some pretty bad traffic there. I hope you're able to avoid that! Again, thank you for watching, sharing info, and commenting! Have a great evening!

I grew up in Terra Linda, 10 Mahogany Drive to be exact. I adored my childhood home, and loved growing up in Marin. Now live in WPB Florida due to work and my parents living here, but I would love to move back to Marin one day.

@@karriehill.jd.realtor No where else like it. I have lived in downtown Chicago, enjoyed it. Now live in South Florida, and I enjoy it. Have traveled a lot as well. Marin is special though, unless you have lived there for a while or grown up there it’s hard to explain.
I would not have wanted to grow up in any other place. The weather is obviously ideal all year long. But add the vicinity to SF and the rest of the Bay Area, Napa, weekends in Tahoe. Or going to Stinson, hikes on Mt. Tam, I could go on and on. No place like Marin.

I grew up in Kentfield CA, basically Ross. Lived at 114 Terrace Ave. as a kid and spent half my time in Montana growing up. I love Marine County I plan on moving back some day... So many great memories 💞

That's awesome! Lots of changes near where you used to live. A restaurant that sat empty for years at the corner of Sir Francis and College has been replaced by a huge beautiful glass building for College of Marin. And, next to Half Day Cafe, there's now a restaurant called Guesthouse - that grew in size during covid. It's one of my favorite places to get dinner. Thank you for watching!

I grew up in TL, but moved to southern cal after college. We now live in Encinitas but have a move back to Marin squarely on our radar once the kids are out of HS. I really like your vids and subscribed. If you’re still at it in about four years, we’ll be reaching out!

Well, I'd love that! Thank you for chiming in and letting me know that you like the videos. Please let me know if you have any ideas to make them better. And, your story of planning to move back to Marin...and actually moving back...is one I hear a lot! It's expensive here but there's something about this place that feels magical. Your kids will be out of hs in no time. Enjoy the time with them and I hope they attend college in Northern California. :)

    Hi Karrie,
Despite living in Western New York, we love Marin. My uncle lived in San Rafael (on Dominican Drive) for 60+ years before his passing. We spent much time out there over the years, via personal and business trips, and absolutely loved all that Marin has to offer. We got to know the county amazingly well. Loved the weather, Marin Farmer's Market @ Civic Center, Emporio Rulli, the Larkspur ferry to SF, all the shopping, etc. I so miss visiting. I really enjoyed your video.
I'd love moving there if home prices were not 4x - 5x what they are here. You'd flip at the amazing home values here, if you could accept real winters?

That's so nice to hear that you spent time and loved Marin. I love all those same places that you mentioned, right down to coffee at Emporio-Rulli in larkspur. I would so love those lower prices but it's hard to leave this amazing place. And I like cold weather, but only for a very short period of time. I've lived in California my entire life. I'm just not made for too much cold, lol. Thank you so much for chiming in. I super appreciate your comments. Have a great night!

I lived 38 years in Marin, incredible beautiful county, now if you can stand the majority of people living there characterized by entitlement abuse of alcohol, and pills (upper and downers) holier than you, unfriendly neighbors, and stressed and fearful people, that is your place, expensive but beautiful, last 10 years there I will not even drive down south from San Rafael, could not stand the people, now living the great retirement in front of the Mediterranean Sea surrounded by real people down to earth, ☺

That's great that you found a beautiful place to retire with people you enjoy. I'm sorry you didn't find that in Marin - at least the people part. Your experience of Marin hasn't been mine although I agree that I have seen a bit of the entitlement issue that you mentioned. Thank you for commenting on my video. Have a great day!

Yes alot of those places are nice to look at but the affordability is not something I'd be looking at. My ex roommate whent to a small college in that area and he had to live on campus due to the high cost of living.🙂💵💵💵💵💵💵

Sadly, price is definitely the most negative thing about Marin County. And with a constant flow of people leaving San Fran when they have a family and moving to Marin, I see no possibility of that changing. However, with the state of the economy, perhaps there will be a few relative bargains in the next 18 months or so. Thank you for watching!

@@karriehill.jd.realtor I do know some companies are relocating into San Francisco from Petaluma, San Raf, and Novato, and that's where a bulk of the director-positioned people who can afford to commute from the county work. Considering the tollway traffic backups on GG Bridge, people might reconsider moving to Daly City or within the city to free up more space. Of course, it could also backfire and become AirBnB rentals that the owners still keep or they will just work remotely.
