I'm almost through watching every video in this series out of order. Now that he's being slightly more open these days, I demand that John try to interview Richard D. James for this series. Please please Noisey make it happen.
I think he doesn't do interviews Nick. One of the only ones I could find was a regional television interview from decades ago. He seems to be a bit of a recluse, or at the least, media shy.
This is my absolute favourite Noisey series; these videos are enlightening and cathartic. Please keep it up. Or you could do more Back and Forths with A$AP Rocky and Danny Brown. Those were great too.
See "rateyourmusic" review in which Shane Carter backs me up. But wiki has it at 25. It was #1 in Dunedin then! I always said it sold because people in NZ couldn't buy drugs then, so they bought a song about drugs instead as a sort of moral victory.
@@diskochimp Are you kidding hes the biggest pretentious arsehole out there.. tuning his guitars to the fridge is all good but not releasing an album of skiffle tunes properly after three years and a million quid thrown at him?You don't get any more indulgent that
New Wave is the gift that keeps on giving.

A very good interview - a very good artist to choose.
Good interview with one of England's finest mavericks.

The Fall had a #1 in New Zealand with Totally Wired. Come on Luke, it's your turn now!
#25 actually.
Excellent
My musical hero.
God, Blackbox Recorder was my jam back in the day.
Saw The Auteurs twice, Luke once, and BBR once - all brilliant on each occasion.
That was great! I said "don't do it" at exactly the same time he did.
Telephone thing by the Fall. How did that make the top 10?
He’s great.
I didn't know Garth Merenghi did tunes
This quite literally, blew my mind! ;0)
But not actually literally.
I like the auteurs
needs to be one on robert smith

Please get Lawrence on here / felt denim go kart mozart
Baader Meinhof is one of the finest albums ever made
Yep 👍
the auteurs
They say this guy invented britpop? What about Lee Mavers and The La's?This series needs to get Mavers on here.
You're totally right... but I guess Lee is the antithesis of ego-stroking series like this, he's not self-consciously "arty" enough is he?
maybe not but just want to still hear from him today

I do like the sisters
ah fuck it. I'll do it.
Just don't do it...
Forming a band... not even once
Luke Haines could care less.. keeps it real .. .
Very brave choice in not picking a musician.
His voice (interviewer) is a bit monosyllibic
So is his brain.
Worst one of the series
