Sanders is spot on. I am an independent and I agree with him 100% on this topic. Except, it is not the food industry but the non-food industry. Ultra processed foods are not food but poison. RFK Jr. Is not antivaxx, but is for safety. If President Trump lowers the costs of drugs, he will be a super hero. I am a US Citizer retired abroad in Europe. What we pay for prescription drugs in the USA is extremely rediculos. It screams price gouging and corporate capture of government. Europeans can't even conceive of how much we are being gouged when we buy medicine in the USA. The Medical Industrial Complex in the ISA is pure anticompetition. The medical bills here detail everything down to the line item and make sense. In the USA it is hard to figure out what was being paid for even when you get your insurance company's report for what they pay and what you owe out of pocket.
Why would that be a news??? We all agree that this situation is unacceptable for the most powerful country in the world! We should care more about how we get there, because I am sure democrats and republicans will agree in many policies and in how they want to see the country in the future, they just don't agree on how to get there!
As a Trump supporter, I agree with what Bernie Sanders said about food industries. This topic is one of those topics that almost all spectrums of politics agree upon and thus could work together as a team with diverse minds to reach a conclusive solution.
I had to start watching my diet for health reasons, and was shocked by just how overstuffed with salt and sugar everything is. And the dumbest part by FAR is that if you eat less salt and sugar, your palette adjusts, and suddenly less-salty food tastes just as good as the stuff with buckets of salt in it! So there's no reason to overload everyone with this crap!
It's concerning when Republicans come in with an anti-government and deregulation attitude that feels like it could sabotage protections in the food industry. RFK feels there are issues in food over ingredients or use of pesticides, but will the Trump administration abolish the FDA? Or other 'Red Tape' regulations? I mean, I get it, government often seems like it just creates a hassle for everyone and business, but many of the issues probably come from Lobbying interest or interference.
What “protections” does the FDA offer right now exactly? Our foods are literally poison that are full Of chemicals that are banned in Europe and many other countries. And RFK never said he would “abolish the FDA” he said he will use them for their intended purpose, which is to make sure our foods are healthy.
Their deregulation stances have been for business more than anything? The tight regulations make it hard for small business to thrive and compete with big business and that’s what they talk about when it comes to deregulation. RFK is advocating for MORE testing when it comes to medical and health so I don’t see the issue here. Yeah, maybe they want raw milk accessible but people can choose whether or not to drink that. They can’t abolish the FDA but I sure hope they clean it out. These organizations are funded by people who have their own interests at heart. For example why are they only studying drugs but there are little to no studies done on herbs, plants, etc? I don’t see people like bill gates funding studies for things like that but he will fund studies for vaxxes and meds that we don’t necessarily need
and in terms of online censorship what is easier to censor lies or the truth? The truth. What happens after you can no longer hear the truth and all that is left is lies? People start to believe them.

This is what you call a nonpolarized smart man. He doesn't agree with RFK Jr on most things, but he is led by his beliefs, not his biases, when a fact is introduced to the table.
Yes, but this is not what the "other side" is actually opposing. In fact, the idea that people on the left are opposed to healthier lifestyles is ridiculous, especially since they are the ones trying to protect our environment. Michelle Obama spent 8 years trying to advocate healthier eating, especially in schools and was frequently attacked for it by the right. RFK has some farfetched ideas but healthier eating is one idea that most sensible people can agree on. The problem with RFK is that he also makes a lot of damaging and ignorant claims that have no scientific evidence to back them. The media will always spin things in a way that will get them the most views. The fact that Bernie agrees with RFKs LEAST controversial claims really should not be news.
Flouridated water is a good idea, however, there have been confirmed findings that excessive exposure to fluoride causes sterility in human females. How about we educate people and strongly encourage them to use fluoride toothpoaste and mouthwash and avoid ingesting it en masse?
I really believe there is more things regarding the food industries they have to check the damage the vegetables oils do and also all the fertilizer the used in our food and the illness that we have has a lot to do with both things
Bernie's stance on the incoming Trump administration is really refreshing. He essentially is saying, "You talk a big game, now walk the walk and cut the BS."

If it has an ingredient list with lot of strange words, don’t eat it. Just respect that Life and God have created all we need to be healthy and heal. Eat a mostly raw, organic, fresh, low fat plantbased diet. It’s very colorful and very tasteful. You can, and should, eat a lot of it and you will never gain weight. That food doesn’t need massive marketing campaigns, it speaks for itself. And until we have restored our depleted soils, take some high quality supplements as liquid zinc, liquid B12, C-vitamin, lemon balm and others. ❤❤❤
There's no reason to add fluoride in the water other than to help seal microscopic cracks in the pipes. 30% of the population has thyroid issues which does not happen because if 30% of the population was confirmed to have thyroid disease than we would have a public health crisis and we would have to address fluoridated water programs.
hes def right about flouride. its very beneficial to americans teeth, especially considering the acidity of our foods. would not be a good idea to remove it, as we would end up with a lot more cavities than we do now.
Thank you Bernie! I never agreed with your politics, but I am so thankful to have you on the side of our health! We need everyone to come together or get out of the way on this one! On flouride, when we cut it out for our family, we stopped getting cavities! Have not had a single one in our home the past 3 years, before that, we always had atleast 1 kid with a cavity. On vaccines, look at the evidence, decide for yourself.
The type of fluoride that naturally occurs in water isn't the same type of fluoride that is added to the water. It's my understanding that the type added isn't bioavailable. In other words, your body can't use it. I wish someone would communicate this to the public. Instead the media is arguing about whether fluoride is good or bad. If your body can't use it then what's the point? Also, fluoride chelates calcium so it can cause osteoporosis. Let's learn about the mineral system boys and girls.
To quote the Linus Pauling Institute that has a pretty informative page on fluoride "The majority of studies conducted to date have failed to find clinically significant differences in bone mineral density (BMD) or fracture incidence when comparing residents of areas with fluoridated water supplies to residents in areas without fluoridated water supplies." Most of them show reduced rates of hip fractures in communities with fluoridated water but they're not strong enough to be statistically significant. That doesn't point at all to osteoporosis. Also fluoride doesn't chelate anything, it gets chelated (like calcium) -- I think there was one study from 2014 where low-calcium fluoridated water was correlated with lower bone density in sheep, but livestock have terrible monodiets so I don't think that study was very applicable to people.
Love Bernie and agree with him on almost every issue except the Fluoride. Get that crap out of the dinking water!! They make you spit it out at the dentist for a reason
The concentration of fluoride is much greater at the dentist, which is why they make you spit it out. Fluoride, when added in safe amounts to the water supply, strengthens teeth against cavities.
The government must stop subsidies for the meat, egg and dairy industries. Subsidies should be given to organic and non organic fruit and vegetable farmers !
Sanders is right about the food industry not caring about anything but profit. As a Canadian, I could not believe the ingredients that were allowed in American food that are banned here and in many European and other countries.
They don't put large enough amounts of fluoride in the water for it to be dangerous. It has been found many times over to be safe, and beneficial to people's tooth and bone health.

Senator Sanders makes sense because he addresses policy not personality; sadly, US citizens are never allowed to directly vote on that same basis, instead they are asked to decide on whose PR they find less intolerable; thus ensuring that nothing will ever get done or be better

Bernie Sanders of Vermont 👍

We all agree that this situation is unacceptable for the most powerful country in the world!
We should care more about how we get there, because I am sure democrats and republicans will agree in many policies and in how they want to see the country in the future, they just don't agree on how to get there!
As a Trump supporter, I agree with what Bernie Sanders said about food industries. This topic is one of those topics that almost all spectrums of politics agree upon and thus could work together as a team with diverse minds to reach a conclusive solution.
How's this going to work? Aren't Republicans against regulations?
No we are not again regulations that make since.
Our foods are literally poison that are full
Of chemicals that are banned in Europe and many other countries.

Most of them show reduced rates of hip fractures in communities with fluoridated water but they're not strong enough to be statistically significant.
