How in the world does Mick do it? Eighty years old, and he's at the convent, day after day, doing all this backtracking work. Hats off to you, sir! You're amazing!
Hey Billy, just throwing it out there, when the convent is finished and you start having guests open a gift shop in the dinning room. With all the old wood your pulling out, make - bread boards, cheese platter boards, bird houses, drink coaster, tea boxes, picture frames, love hearts on wire or string this is just off the top of my head. I feel they would sell like hot cakes anything vintage sells. Australia
'Buying a convent no one wanted.' I'll bet 'no one' have changed their opinion. Granting the setbacks, it's still a very special place--and is in the right hands.
Yes, much better as yesterday! Now i did not get stressed of the music and did not turn the sound off. I also love the moments when there is no music because then it feels as if you are there!
Billy....your dad is amazing. How a man of his age works 5 days a week like he does is unbelievable. The work is what keep him young and agile....very impressed and he is truly a blessing!!!
Opera and sledge hammers! Interesting duo! Add Yanis….perfect!! Building suspense and jackhammer….add Billy, perfect! Shovel and concrete…add Mick and you have an awesome team!! Major progress in revealing the floor. Once cleaned and sealed, it will be beautiful just like the entranceway! Mercy, so much work, Billy, but you’ve got this!!! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Mick is amazing! My husband is 83 and he sure couldn't do what Mick does!!! ❤ I love watching Yanis....he is such a great worker. You are blessed to have him!!! ❤
The last few videos I like Billy's creative editing. Starting off with Yanis' outfitting for the day and hammering in slow mode and speeding up when the guys are removing the rubble. Brilliant!
Billy I loved the intro music paired with the sledgehammer, very creative! It's great that you take time to add your creative flair to the videos, always appreciated.
Everyone is working so incredibly hard to restore this beautiful convent. Thanks for sharing the journey with us! I look forward to these daily videos and what exciting things you uncover. Keep up the great work! Can't wait for Simon to come back as well. I love his little informational tidbits and metal detecting forays!
I read the comments before seeing the underside of the staircase exposed and totally agree with so many people - keep it open please, it now matches the rest of the stairs.
My grandad had a steel sledge like that, so heavy, he was a strong man, afraid of no hard work...he got things done and done right...miss him...have a great weekend...cheers...!
Fabulous work opening up under the stairs - it looks amazing and so much bigger (if that's possible). Definitely a great idea to leave it open to let the fresh air circulate and dry out under the staircase (if there is any damp creeping up) and remove any musty/damp smells. PLEASE PLEASE 🙏🙏 would you consider leaving them open rather than recreating new side panelling the visual effect is spectacular and really emphasises the staircase in all its granduer. Thank you.
The beginning pairing opera with a sledge hammer demolition made me smile. Thanks! Each time you open up hidden spaces I am hoping you find hidden treasures. You create such fabulous content, Billy. Your team of family/friends/workers are such a pleasure to watch.
My father worked 2 twenty year careers. Then worked part time repairing Electrolux vacuums until he was 84. He passed right before 88 birthday. Stay busy, eat right. He loved cigarettes and matinees. Hahaha! Billy's dad is the goat! Long way to go!!! Love all of this family!
I think the staircase looks better left open, when cleaned repaired and polished it would look far more dramatic. I think it would be cheaper and easier to match the flooring underneath the staircase to the rest of the room.
The opening clip of Yanis breaking the floor up in slow motion with the background music was a touch of genius. Some of the floor seem to be hollow underneath. Have a restful weekend. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧
It was a very interesting week. The P-team worked incredibly hard. It's so exciting. Great start of the video when Yannis is working with the sledgehammer🤭 Now have a quiet weekend with your family. See you all next week👋🏽🇳🇱
I wonder if you could just trim the rot off those boards and move them forward in the angle of the stair wall and that way only have to replace some of the taller ones? I’m glad you discovered the rot. It’s still an incredible staircase to have lasted this long. Thanks Billy for today’s episode !
100% agree keep the boards and door off the stair bottom. The opening of the stairs the last few episodes has been a stunning reveal. I guess structural needs will dictate the end. result. Great work thanks you inspire.
I know that between the 3 of you Mick, Yanis, and yourself Billy you are moving right along. Truly amazing the amount of work being done. Great job Gentlemen, great job. Have a wonderful day
I liked the “Tales of Hoffman" and slow motion of Yannis at the beginning. The song is sung by a windup doll. It was not how I thought about Yannis before, but it is now. Just wind him up and let him go. He’s a beast!
Have you seen the Spains Got Talent episode from a couple of years ago? She starts off singing this song and suddenly changes into Highway to Hell. The audience reaction is a hoot!
I was going to fast forward through the first couple minutes but the music stopped me in my tracks. That woman’s voice is heavenly and I could listen to that all day.
I'm very grateful of your concern for the staircase as it is Louis VXth but you're doing a great job of making the best of what you have been given and trying to restore. It's a fine balance and I think that you guys are doing a great job! My hat is also off to Mick as he is has been your role model and has the strong work ethic that we all need these days. I've been watching for quite awhile and I love the content and the crew of Yan, Rick, Steve and Ryan. It's my telly show that I love to watch and you guys never disappoint. Don't usually give much feedback but I love what you're doing and wanted to let you know. Big Thanks!!
I do enjoy the music you use to accompany your videos as much as the visual content. My memory was nudged in the opening measures of the music at the beginning of today's video, then the soprano began singing and 30 years flew away. I performed Olympia's Doll Song in recital in the late 1990's. I was sorry that you didn't use the whole piece.
Billy,Mic,Yanis my convent concrete floor demolishers. Lots of heavy concrete demolition work. Hope you guys are doing OK. Until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🙏🌞🌈❤️👍😇🕊🇺🇸🌹
Woo.... woo... the suspense of is there/ isn't there a basement entrance under the staircase???? What a cliff-hanger to end the week on. Can't wait for Monday's episode...THANK YOU Billy & team for all your hard work and sharing with us all. Really appreciated v.much.
Seems to me if you grought in a stone crusher. You could use that material on repairing or widening paths on the property. Or fill raised gardens like I have said. All that sand could be added to your potato beds as they love sandy soil. You could also grow peanuts in it. Separating the cement of course. Keep the limestone away from the top soil.
Love. The opening shots of Yanis with the sledge hammer made me think of Thor and his hammer. Mick your the energrizer bunny you just keep going . Billy my back was yelling ouch seeing you bending while working. Another very busy week. See you next time.
@@karenniehues4786I live alone and even in the winter i dont top $80 a month New Zealand for power, but in saying that i dont have ac or a heater but rather a fire place, so wood is a added expenses
@ it’s the ac that’s causes it. I have a medical condition & cannot tolerate heat like I used to. So thermostat has to stay in the 72-74 range ( which is still too warm for my for my daughter & grown grandsons)!
You only need to replace one board, cut away the roten Wood and move the board to the left, then if you are lucky you only need to replace one board, or maybe 2.
Billy, the staircase looks so much better without that cupboard/panelling under it. If you discover stairs going down, perhaps just continue the exiting stair banister detail down? As someone else mentioned, if you do decide to put the boards back, just cut the rotten few cms out and shift them to the left, then you only need one new panel at the end. But I'd leave it open.
How in the world does Mick do it? Eighty years old, and he's at the convent, day after day, doing all this backtracking work. Hats off to you, sir! You're amazing!
he is strong and loves working
At a certain point, everything that hurts just becomes normal... I think I finally started turning that corner...
I think he's just as exited as his son about the convent by now.. 😅
It’s probably the work that keeps him fit and keeps him going!
My thoughts, exactly. I wish we all could age that well.
Yanis should work on a signature drink for the bar. He could call it The Sledgehammer.
His nickname should be Thor.
Gin Espresso with double the ingredients!?!
Perfect!
Or The Destroyer 👹

Yanis using the sledgehammer to opera music, perfect!
i was expecting the next scene (a transition to) horror !!
'Buying a convent no one wanted.' I'll bet 'no one' have changed their opinion. Granting the setbacks, it's still a very special place--and is in the right hands.
Billy, I’ve seen many younger men who couldn’t keep up with you dad. He’s truly remarkable. You can tell he’s a honest working man, at any age. 😊
The opening to this episode was classic. The music, slomo Yan, should get some award. Beautifully done Billy!
Yes, much better as yesterday! Now i did not get stressed of the music and did not turn the sound off. I also love the moments when there is no music because then it feels as if you are there!
Yes really enjoyed the opening!
Yes, phenomenal intro!!!
It's really mind blowing thinking about when was the last time someone actually walked on the original floors
Apparently the long ago time of .... the 80s.
The staircase is looking better each day. It looks amazing without that panelling beneath it. It’s more open and graceful.
The paneling is original, though. So it should be put back.
It will be... just has to be recreated
Amazing how you match the music and the jack hammer
I'm quite surprised at how lovely the staircase looks without the panelling. So much work, but that original floor was so worth it.
I actually think it’s beautiful without the enclosure. Nice and open and airy.
The building is taking in full breaths now! Well done gentlemen!
I concur wholeheartedly....open, airy and more natural light.
Agreed!
Revealing the staircase .. one ‘step’ at a time 👍😊
Billy....your dad is amazing. How a man of his age works 5 days a week like he does is unbelievable. The work is what keep him young and agile....very impressed and he is truly a blessing!!!
The beginning of of this video deserves some kind of award!
What fun, what sheer strength and grace Billie showed in Yanis deconstructiing!
All this demo turned Yanis into the Yanimal 💪🏻

Loooved the opening footage and music.
Billy, you don’t have to spice up your videos. We like seeing what you’re doing. Wishing your sister the best with her project.
I swear, I can see the building coming back to life. Like peeling back the decades ❤❤❤
Now that is my type of music and I loved watching this video - many more hours of work lie ahead and can't wait to see what you uncover
Excellent beginning with Yanis. Looks like the staircase is going to need a lot of love. The area looks great with the walls removed.
Billy I loved the intro music paired with the sledgehammer, very creative! It's great that you take time to add your creative flair to the videos, always appreciated.
It kind of looks really nice without the panelling.. beautiful staircase.

You can feel that staircase breathing.
I read the comments before seeing the underside of the staircase exposed and totally agree with so many people - keep it open please, it now matches the rest of the stairs.
An open staircase is beautiful. Hopefully you can keep it open and help the staircase breathe.
Just amazing to watch ,what a wonderful thing your all doing ,such hard work bring life back to an old building ,
That opening sequence with Yanis and his sledgehammer was true cinema. Bravo for the always-amazing production values
The stonework revealed is majestic. So beautiful. Thank you Billy for taking us along on this adventure ❤
The sweet opera accompaniment to the sledge hammer was delightful. And so strangely relaxing to watch!
My grandad had a steel sledge like that, so heavy, he was a strong man, afraid of no hard work...he got things done and done right...miss him...have a great weekend...cheers...!
My gosh I JUST LOVE THAT UNCOVERED FLOOR.
The original floor is beautiful!
That floor is going to be stunning Billy. Really excited to see it be exposed!
Happy weekend, team Convent. 😊 Cheers 🥂 🍾 Looking forward to Monday 😃👍.

i love Electrolux.
That beautiful old floor! Amazing and gorgeous. Everything handmade is so much lovelier than the crap we have now.

Yay Dad! Staying fit certainly repays one. You are an INSPIRATION!

The opera like music was perfect! 😊
Amazing how much light is flowing through now that it’s opened up.
Hi Billy, every one of your videos is interesting, creative and unique. Great story telling!
It was a very interesting week. The P-team worked incredibly hard. It's so exciting. Great start of the video when Yannis is working with the sledgehammer🤭 Now have a quiet weekend with your family. See you all next week👋🏽🇳🇱
Billy if it were up to me I'd leave under the stairs open. I think it looks better that way, and you certainly don't need it for storage.
You're keeping your dad young because he's doing what he loves.
My dog has just woken up and started howling at the classical music at the intro!
Thankyou, Billy, for being you. It helps so much in a dark time.
Every day is a discovery!

I just realized why you guys are so happy; you get your frustrations out during demo days. 😊🤣👍
I think the staircase looks better without the paneling.

Well, you have a new tip for the jack hammer coming soon, and that floor is the perfect place to first use it.😊
Wow Billy, you may have half a million subscribers by Christmas! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉xxx💕💕💕
Just keeps getting better and better! Bravo!
I liked the “Tales of Hoffman" and slow motion of Yannis at the beginning. The song is sung by a windup doll. It was not how I thought about Yannis before, but it is now. Just wind him up and let him go. He’s a beast!

@AbigailGerlach-zt1sh yes, I saw that. Very talented singer.
Loved the beginning of this video! Breaking up concrete and removing it is back breaking work. You and the team are moving right along.

love your editing and how systematically you approach each step of each project and corner of each room…a beautiful thing to behold really❤
The music and videography throughout the intro!! Le Opus du Yannis!! Magnifique!! 👏👏😄🤣
If there is a way for Billy to save things in the convent he will.
This is a mix of architecture, history, archeology and hard work!

Epic intro!!! Love the mix of music and muscle 💪🎶
It's so exciting to see the progress being made. I can't wait to see the finish product, but I'll wait patiently 😊

I think stairs look better open i wouldnt seal it up for storage .😊
You’ve got a Harry Potter cupboard under your staircase. I love it!😍
I had the same thought😃 Maybe a child size washroom could go under there with a Harry Potter theme.
Loved the sledgehammer ballet at the beginning.
I do love the openness of under the stairs rather than it be closed in again
My first thought too.
Leave it open.

Love the opening music Billy, it went well with the hammering 👏💪hope you get plenty of rest and have a great weekend xxx💕💕💕
Its always where the wood & stone are together. Our renovation was the same.
Love the doll song.
Very much loved the intro opera music paired with demolition.
Rather leave the staircase open at the bottom. Looks better
Brilliant can't wait to watch this ❤
Love the met production...your music is great
With using all these tools, your electricity bill must be as monumental as the convent itself! Great job Billy!
it’s really cheap… even with all the heating on it’s less than 220€ a month
I thought he used the ecoflow.

Thanks for another very enjoyable video, Billy! I am so impressed by how hard you all work everyday, especially your dad. Well done.
