How in the world does Mick do it? Eighty years old, and he's at the convent, day after day, doing all this backtracking work. Hats off to you, sir! You're amazing!
Yes, much better as yesterday! Now i did not get stressed of the music and did not turn the sound off. I also love the moments when there is no music because then it feels as if you are there!
Mick is amazing! My husband is 83 and he sure couldn't do what Mick does!!! ❤ I love watching Yanis....he is such a great worker. You are blessed to have him!!! ❤
Opera and sledge hammers! Interesting duo! Add Yanis….perfect!! Building suspense and jackhammer….add Billy, perfect! Shovel and concrete…add Mick and you have an awesome team!! Major progress in revealing the floor. Once cleaned and sealed, it will be beautiful just like the entranceway! Mercy, so much work, Billy, but you’ve got this!!! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
'Buying a convent no one wanted.' I'll bet 'no one' have changed their opinion. Granting the setbacks, it's still a very special place--and is in the right hands.
The opening clip of Yanis breaking the floor up in slow motion with the background music was a touch of genius. Some of the floor seem to be hollow underneath. Have a restful weekend. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧
Everyone is working so incredibly hard to restore this beautiful convent. Thanks for sharing the journey with us! I look forward to these daily videos and what exciting things you uncover. Keep up the great work! Can't wait for Simon to come back as well. I love his little informational tidbits and metal detecting forays!
The beginning pairing opera with a sledge hammer demolition made me smile. Thanks! Each time you open up hidden spaces I am hoping you find hidden treasures. You create such fabulous content, Billy. Your team of family/friends/workers are such a pleasure to watch.
Fabulous work opening up under the stairs - it looks amazing and so much bigger (if that's possible). Definitely a great idea to leave it open to let the fresh air circulate and dry out under the staircase (if there is any damp creeping up) and remove any musty/damp smells. PLEASE PLEASE 🙏🙏 would you consider leaving them open rather than recreating new side panelling the visual effect is spectacular and really emphasises the staircase in all its granduer. Thank you.
I liked the “Tales of Hoffman" and slow motion of Yannis at the beginning. The song is sung by a windup doll. It was not how I thought about Yannis before, but it is now. Just wind him up and let him go. He’s a beast!
Have you seen the Spains Got Talent episode from a couple of years ago? She starts off singing this song and suddenly changes into Highway to Hell. The audience reaction is a hoot!
Billy....your dad is amazing. How a man of his age works 5 days a week like he does is unbelievable. The work is what keep him young and agile....very impressed and he is truly a blessing!!!
It was a very interesting week. The P-team worked incredibly hard. It's so exciting. Great start of the video when Yannis is working with the sledgehammer🤭 Now have a quiet weekend with your family. See you all next week👋🏽🇳🇱
I wonder if you could just trim the rot off those boards and move them forward in the angle of the stair wall and that way only have to replace some of the taller ones? I’m glad you discovered the rot. It’s still an incredible staircase to have lasted this long. Thanks Billy for today’s episode !
I worry about Yanis..The Demolition Man. He is putting his body through a huge strain. He needs some support for his back, and recovery time. I see you all switch out the heavy duty jobs, but he is slight compared to you more burly gentlemen. Loving hugs to all 🤗
I think the staircase looks better left open, when cleaned repaired and polished it would look far more dramatic. I think it would be cheaper and easier to match the flooring underneath the staircase to the rest of the room.
Woo.... woo... the suspense of is there/ isn't there a basement entrance under the staircase???? What a cliff-hanger to end the week on. Can't wait for Monday's episode...THANK YOU Billy & team for all your hard work and sharing with us all. Really appreciated v.much.
You only need to replace one board, cut away the roten Wood and move the board to the left, then if you are lucky you only need to replace one board, or maybe 2.
Billy, the staircase looks so much better without that cupboard/panelling under it. If you discover stairs going down, perhaps just continue the exiting stair banister detail down? As someone else mentioned, if you do decide to put the boards back, just cut the rotten few cms out and shift them to the left, then you only need one new panel at the end. But I'd leave it open.
Billy,Mic,Yanis my convent concrete floor demolishers. Lots of heavy concrete demolition work. Hope you guys are doing OK. Until next time. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🙏🌞🌈❤️👍😇🕊🇺🇸🌹
Love. The opening shots of Yanis with the sledge hammer made me think of Thor and his hammer. Mick your the energrizer bunny you just keep going . Billy my back was yelling ouch seeing you bending while working. Another very busy week. See you next time.
Rhythmic jack hammering followed by shovel full of convent concrete moved Bucket by bucket, wheel barrel after wheel barrel and finally tediously sweeping to expose the granite floors. Well done Billy, Yanis and Mick! You guys really ROCK! Take the weekend off Billy. Your back will thank-you and your family will enjoy it!
Underneath the staircase would make a lovely cozy reading nook with a comfortable chair, a table with a nice lamp. A quiet place to just take a minute. Can't you leave the staircase open and exposed?
This is a huge effort but I think it will look outstanding. It looks big enough to have a coat/luggage store. I once stayed in a beautiful manor house in Verona and they had turned a staircase area into a mini cocktail lounge with magazines and art books, with tromp l'ouei walls. It was stunning!
Today’s end pose 8/10 - Classic Billy end pose. I liked the dramatic lighting of the stairs in the background. Also the sequence of Yanis demolishing concrete accompanied by opera was cool. Reminded me a bit of some scenes from the movie a clockwork orange😂
The old flagstones are just uneven enough to be a tripping hazard for the elderly nuns. That's probably why it was leveled with sand and concrete. Shame that it spoiled the old paneling on the staircase, though.
How in the world does Mick do it? Eighty years old, and he's at the convent, day after day, doing all this backtracking work. Hats off to you, sir! You're amazing!
he is strong and loves working
At a certain point, everything that hurts just becomes normal... I think I finally started turning that corner...
I think he's just as exited as his son about the convent by now.. 😅
It’s probably the work that keeps him fit and keeps him going!
My thoughts, exactly. I wish we all could age that well.
The opening to this episode was classic. The music, slomo Yan, should get some award. Beautifully done Billy!
Yes, much better as yesterday! Now i did not get stressed of the music and did not turn the sound off. I also love the moments when there is no music because then it feels as if you are there!
I'm quite surprised at how lovely the staircase looks without the panelling. So much work, but that original floor was so worth it.
Mick is amazing! My husband is 83 and he sure couldn't do what Mick does!!! ❤
I love watching Yanis....he is such a great worker. You are blessed to have him!!! ❤
Yanis should work on a signature drink for the bar. He could call it The Sledgehammer.
His nickname should be Thor.
Gin Espresso with double the ingredients!?!
Perfect!
Or The Destroyer 👹
Masse
The staircase is looking better each day. It looks amazing without that panelling beneath it. It’s more open and graceful.
Billy, I’ve seen many younger men who couldn’t keep up with you dad. He’s truly remarkable. You can tell he’s a honest working man, at any age. 😊
The sweet opera accompaniment to the sledge hammer was delightful. And so strangely relaxing to watch!
I do love the openness of under the stairs rather than it be closed in again
My first thought too.
Leave it open.
I swear, I can see the building coming back to life. Like peeling back the decades ❤❤❤
An open staircase is beautiful. Hopefully you can keep it open and help the staircase breathe.
It kind of looks really nice without the panelling.. beautiful staircase.
Revealing the staircase .. one ‘step’ at a time 👍😊
I actually think it’s beautiful without the enclosure. Nice and open and airy.
The building is taking in full breaths now! Well done gentlemen!
I concur wholeheartedly....open, airy and more natural light.
Agreed!
Excellent beginning with Yanis. Looks like the staircase is going to need a lot of love. The area looks great with the walls removed.
Billy if it were up to me I'd leave under the stairs open. I think it looks better that way, and you certainly don't need it for storage.
The stonework revealed is majestic. So beautiful. Thank you Billy for taking us along on this adventure ❤
The beginning pairing opera with a sledge hammer demolition made me smile. Thanks! Each time you open up hidden spaces I am hoping you find hidden treasures. You create such fabulous content, Billy. Your team of family/friends/workers are such a pleasure to watch.
Loved the beginning of this video! Breaking up concrete and removing it is back breaking work. You and the team are moving right along.
Just amazing to watch ,what a wonderful thing your all doing ,such hard work bring life back to an old building ,
Fabulous work opening up under the stairs - it looks amazing and so much bigger (if that's possible). Definitely a great idea to leave it open to let the fresh air circulate and dry out under the staircase (if there is any damp creeping up) and remove any musty/damp smells. The music and videography throughout the intro!! Le Opus du Yannis!! Magnifique!! 👏👏😄🤣
Happy weekend, team Convent. 😊 Cheers 🥂 🍾 Looking forward to Monday 😃👍.
I liked the “Tales of Hoffman" and slow motion of Yannis at the beginning. The song is sung by a windup doll. It was not how I thought about Yannis before, but it is now. Just wind him up and let him go. He’s a beast!
Loved the music choice!
@@heidit8009 Me too!
Have you seen the Spains Got Talent episode from a couple of years ago? She starts off singing this song and suddenly changes into Highway to Hell. The audience reaction is a hoot!
@AbigailGerlach-zt1sh yes, I saw that. Very talented singer.
All this demo turned Yanis into the Yanimal 💪🏻
You can feel that staircase breathing.
Billy....your dad is amazing. How a man of his age works 5 days a week like he does is unbelievable. The work is what keep him young and agile....very impressed and he is truly a blessing!!!
It's really mind blowing thinking about when was the last time someone actually walked on the original floors
Apparently the long ago time of .... the 80s.
Thankyou, Billy, for being you. It helps so much in a dark time.
Hi Billy, every one of your videos is interesting, creative and unique. Great story telling!
It was a very interesting week. The P-team worked incredibly hard. It's so exciting. Great start of the video when Yannis is working with the sledgehammer🤭 Now have a quiet weekend with your family. See you all next week👋🏽🇳🇱
Your father is an animal! Respect :-)
With using all these tools, your electricity bill must be as monumental as the convent itself! Great job Billy!
it’s really cheap… even with all the heating on it’s less than 220€ a month
I thought he used the ecoflow.
I think the staircase looks better without the paneling.
I wonder if you could just trim the rot off those boards and move them forward in the angle of the stair wall and that way only have to replace some of the taller ones? I’m glad you discovered the rot. It’s still an incredible staircase to have lasted this long. Thanks Billy for today’s episode !
My gosh I JUST LOVE THAT UNCOVERED FLOOR.
Epic intro!!! Love the mix of music and muscle 💪🎶
I truly enjoy watching all the progress. The convent is a beautiful place.
I worry about Yanis..The Demolition Man. He is putting his body through a huge strain. He needs some support for his back, and recovery time. I see you all switch out the heavy duty jobs, but he is slight compared to you more burly gentlemen. Loving hugs to all 🤗
Well, you have a new tip for the jack hammer coming soon, and that floor is the perfect place to first use it.😊
I think the staircase looks better left open, when cleaned repaired and polished it would look far more dramatic. I think it would be cheaper and easier to match the flooring underneath the staircase to the rest of the room.
Love the opening music Billy, it went well with the hammering 👏💪hope you get plenty of rest and have a great weekend xxx💕💕💕
Woo.... woo... the suspense of is there/ isn't there a basement entrance under the staircase???? What a cliff-hanger to end the week on. Can't wait for Monday's episode...THANK YOU Billy & team for all your hard work and sharing with us all. Really appreciated v.much.
Everyone have a blessed weekend 😊
Billy, today's videos is not finished yet, but the floor is beginning to look magnificent. Can hardly wait to see what's below. Crack On!
Fabulous episode and amazing progress! 😊❤👍
You’ve got a Harry Potter cupboard under your staircase. I love it!😍
I had the same thought😃 Maybe a child size washroom could go under there with a Harry Potter theme.
If there is a way for Billy to save things in the convent he will.
You only need to replace one board, cut away the roten Wood and move the board to the left, then if you are lucky you only need to replace one board, or maybe 2.
Great job Billy, Hugh progress.
Brilliant can't wait to watch this ❤
Music couldn't be lovelier today x
Billy, the staircase looks so much better without that cupboard/panelling under it. If you discover stairs going down, perhaps just continue the exiting stair banister detail down?

Every day is a discovery!
This is a big reason i have watched Billy for the last year or more.. the music! Thank you Billy
Its always where the wood & stone are together. Our renovation was the same.
Just keep Cracking on its brilliant 👍🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Love the doll song.
Fantastic job guys! Well done
Yanis at the beginning was epic footage!
Rather leave the staircase open at the bottom. Looks better
Love. The opening shots of Yanis with the sledge hammer made me think of Thor and his hammer. Mick your the energrizer bunny you just keep going . Billy my back was yelling ouch seeing you bending while working. Another very busy week. See you next time.
Thanks for the ride Billy and to the rest of the team also . Many thanks.
Thanks for another very enjoyable video, Billy! I am so impressed by how hard you all work everyday, especially your dad. Well done.
Once again, amazing work, & STELLAR editing, Billy!
Enjoying the comments especially today!!
My mind needs to be in rural France right now.
Blessings.
Such hard workers! 👍🏻
Amazing as always Kate😊
Love the beginning of this video! I love the SloMo and the music…
Iam amazed how you and your team work and attention to detail every one is . Trust the process 😃👊✌️🤞
Crack-on THE OPERA …..starring Yanis (The Demolition Man), Billy (our Jack Hammer narrator) and Mick (Ever-Ready Miracle Father of it All)
Rhythmic jack hammering followed by shovel full of convent concrete moved Bucket by bucket, wheel barrel after wheel barrel and finally tediously sweeping to expose the granite floors. Well done Billy, Yanis and Mick! You guys really ROCK! Take the weekend off Billy. Your back will thank-you and your family will enjoy it!
Great intro, great music.
Very cool today. It’s funny how small the staircase looks in the background,I’m sure it’s just perspective.
Awesome footage of Yanis in the beginning, at his best!! In his element!! Please hit Like & Subscribe for Billy!!! ♥♥♥
Friday greetings from Florida!
😂😂 Yanis is picking up the debris faster than you can make it ❤ gooooo Yanis
Hope everyone has a great weekend
What's there to not love about these videos and hard worker's. 💙
Omg moment 😊 i hope the steps can make a comeback.
Absolutely love the open staircase, but I can see why you would want to maintain the original look!❤
Really enjoying following your project...Thanks for the great videos. Crack on!
I think stairs look better open i wouldnt seal it up for storage .😊
Get a needle scaler to clean up the stones if the concrete is laying directly on the stone slabs.
Great work love sitting on my settee watching all that hard graft ❤❤❤
Another productive great day!
Underneath the staircase would make a lovely cozy reading nook with a comfortable chair, a table with a nice lamp. A quiet place to just take a minute. Can't you leave the staircase open and exposed?
Could you show aa picture of the courtyard, and label what's behind each window? Sometimes it's not so easy to determine where each room is.
Love your choice of music!
I can just picture Yanis singing that opening.
Yannis is a beast! So is Papa! Great work guys!
Today’s end pose 8/10 - Classic Billy end pose. I liked the dramatic lighting of the stairs in the background. Also the sequence of Yanis demolishing concrete accompanied by opera was cool. Reminded me a bit of some scenes from the movie a clockwork orange😂
I find this so interesting!
The original floor is beautiful. Why they would corner it up like that is beyond me.
The old flagstones are just uneven enough to be a tripping hazard for the elderly nuns. That's probably why it was leveled with sand and concrete. Shame that it spoiled the old paneling on the staircase, though.
Love this channel. Great work
This convent was built solid, breaking the cement is a very hard job. Can't wait for more surprises? enjoy your weekend......
