I think you lack understanding too. An intention to do something in the future cannot be punished now as per the judgement of the SC. Politics is making all NDC lawyers not accept the fact Mr. Blay is saying. The Supreme Court is the only body which can interpret Laws in Ghana and they did exactly that. If the affected MPs are accepted back, it means what the lawyers speaking for the SC judgement is true
So you are saying that they can still represent their party till election, ryt. Even so they can go for meetings and take decision on behalf of the party until election. Is that what you are saying. In case your wife or girlfriend decide to divorce or leave you, you will still allow her to stay in your house and go sleep with her new husband to be or boyfriend. Even so you will allow her to cook for you, right. an@@KofiPrince-n9b
Kofi Prince, This is common logic OK. Can you answer why people were held accountable for conspiracy? Because conspiracy is also a future action, it does not exist, but when police deduced that your thoughts for the future would breach any law or peace, the police quickly change you to court for conspiracy to cause a crime even though you haven't cause any crime at the time. Your thoughts are futuristic.
@@thomassankara2857 where are the men ..I think there is an inherent problem in NPP and it will be exposed only when they go to opposition..because logically I know many aged thinkers and learned folks who could represent their party politically other than the present leadership they have...I think there is some problem somewhere... in 2012 and 2016 they had a tougher squad..Where are their men? The NPP must be commended for showing wisdom while the NDC must be shamed for not taking such actions in the past. Law is not for the talkative but doer. Mr. Blay is just repeating what the SC said which must be abided by the speaker, your Lion cannot do anything about it. He can petition the SC if he is indeed a Lion
The court is very clear.. The service of MP is to the nation first and not to party, that's why an MP can vote against his or her party decision in the parliament, therefore as a parliamentarian, you are not bound to your party as an MP. The speaker also did not do wrong, he only proposed the bill to the house, therefore it's not for a public consumption, but markins blew it out of proposition.
This is how NDC is blessed because looking at our elderly people like Tsatsu, the Graeat NDC is favoured..but yaanom and their lies are from their great grandparents...God have Mercy on them😅😅😅
Just look at how Blay is struggling to make sense. I used to think it was politics, but NPP has shown it's a party of very incompetent people. They appear extremely stupid.
What i dont understand wit this current NPP group is their own constitution says it all and there dat was why they removed the suhum parliamentary candidate from the WhatsApp group
What Tsatsu is saying or i understand him is that: you cannot file your nomination as an mp without indicating which party's ticket you are filing ur nomination. And one cannot stand on a party's ticket without being a member of that party. In other words, one has to switch his/her party, in this 8th parliament be4 one can file nomination to contest for a seat in the 9th parliament on the ticket of that party. So the switch takes place in the current. For me, Tsatsu has made the issue very clear.
An important question to clear this confusion is that, what will happen when an MP who was voted to parliament as an independent candidate decides in 2 months into the 4 year term that he has joined a political party in the current parliament but will not contest any elections in the future? Will the MP remain in parliament for the entire 4 years or vacate his seat?
If you read the ruling, it says an independent candidate at any point in time cannot join any political party in the current parliament. I guess your confusion is with Isaac Asiamah. He is not a member of Npp in Parliament. He is doing business with them but not as a member of NPP officially
@ I am making a general discussion not referring to NPP. The same thing applies to both independent and party MPs since the argument is that their decision only applies to future parliament. So what if the said MPs decide not to compete in future elections?
So, the constitution addressed that by asking the EC to conduct a By-election when that scenario arises. The By-election is to give an opportunity to the person in question to now contest his new position with other candidates in the constituency in question. That is why he must vacate his seat and same declared vacant automatically as done by Speaker Bagbin
