Thank you for sharing your journey so far! Love to see you grow within the Air Force 💙 still in the process of enlisting.
I appreciate this so much! Good luck with your journey as well🤍
After all dis time I FINALLY got my job as 4N0 !! I leave March 12th . I came back to rewatch ur tech school vids to get a better feel of what’s gonna be happening when I go frfr now we locked in. Thank u for all the info boo 😙
Congratulations!! Best of luck on your journey 🫶🏻
How is it going?
I was an Aerospace Medical Technician from 1965-1969. The Aerospace Medical Technician tech. school was at Brooks AFB, TX, after a Medical Helper course at Gunter AFB, AL. The Aerospace Medical Tech. job, at that time, was assigned to the flight surgeons' office. We took care of pilots and missile officers sick call and annual physical examinations. This was at the start of the, Vietnam war, so the job could have also entailed field med. evac. and also medical flights from Vietnam to the Philippines or state side. I never did that kind of duty, since is was stationed at Vandenberg AFB, CA for the rest of my enlistment. Also, I separated as a 3 stripe sergeant. In '67 or '68, the USAF brass thought that E-4 in the AF should be aligned with the Army. That didn't last long after I separated, because the "lifer" NCOs put up a real fuss. The NCO clubs became too overcrowded with "buck" sergeants. I loved my time in the AF. I left in 1969, because I wanted no part of Vietnam and people in my med. group had started being assigned there.
Congratulations Phillips! remembered when you in processed me at ft sam, continue being a great airman !
Thank you! Same to you💯

Now, I'm like damn I should have went medical bc this ain't it! Lol. So I may trying to cross train to medical but idk I'm nervous about that long ass tech school and I don't want to fail!! Scarrreddd... Where will you b stationed?
Are you planning to go to the RN program ?that’s the route I want to take. Also thank you for all the info on 4N0! 4N0 is my #1 job pick.
Yes I do want to be an RN one day! Still undecided if I’ll do it in or out of the AF tho :)
Hi, what is the RN program you’re referring to?
NECP
I cant find any info about travis AFB the people i know have been there 8 years+ and told me things probably changed. Info on travis is soo rare. However whatever you described kinda matches our travis FAQ sheet 🤣
How long was the whole tech school duration
98 training days (does not include weekends or holidays). Idk if that includes phase 2
Hi Julie, I ship out soon with a job in 3F5X1(administration). What is your opinion on this job? Do they normally get stationed in the states?
Thank you & Congratulations!!
Hey, congratulations! I don’t have any information on that job unfortunately, but your you could ask your recruiter or MTIs when you get to basic. And yes, you’ll have the opportunity to get stationed in the states.
Thank you!
I received my first assignment in Minot AFB, ND. Is it for phase 2 ? I haven’t started tech school yet for phase 1. I also notice there’s a blank spot for second assignment.
Minot is your permanent duty station. You won’t find out your phase 2 until you start the nursing part of your schooling which is at the end.
Thank you for sharing so much, i signed my contract but discharged when covid happened, here I am 4 yrs later definitely reconsidering and your vids just have me so ready to start the process again 😂🫶🏾
Maybe it was the right thing, but wrong time, trust your intuition🫶🏼 & thank you for the support!!
From when you arrived to tech school to when you graduated, how many days/months was it?😭
5-6 months
Thanks for the info, I am soon shipping out to BMT with the same AFSC, Can you volunteer to special operations command to be in a special unit?. What am I exactly going to study in the tech school?. I used to work in EMS before as a firefighter, however, I don't know exactly what I am supposed to study in advance to graduate from a tech school. Thank you. I worked outside U.S. btw
I have more information in my phase 1 of tech school video, so definitely check that one out for more info on EMT. There’s nothing you really need to study in advance, if you have previous knowledge in things then you’ll be just fine. Don’t stress too much about tech school until you get there tho, let your focus right now be BMT :) Good luck tho with everything!!
@@Julieschannel222 Thank you, Julie! your videos is helpful and will keep watching it , so excited to join the airforce with the same AFSC soon. please upload once you get your duty station as well etc..
@@Julieschannel222 julie. Can you let me know the EMT book you studied during the tech school? I want to take a look and compare what I have learned as an EMT.
Is the 40n is the best route if you want to do nursing in the future? And also how can it help you get into the nursing school ?
In my opinion yes. You work right along side doctors and nurses, and you also take a basic nursing course. It just helps with prior knowledge. You can be in any career field and go to school for nursing
Where are you stationed now?
While at Sam did you get to fill out a wish list for next duty station?
You should get the opportunity at the end of basic, but yes you’ll have time to update it when you get to tech school
Do you get your actual LPN license ?
No, but when you get out of tech school there is a program where all you have to do is study & test out of the course! No class time needed
@@Julieschannel222ok great. Last question, when you at a military hospital are all your patients military personnel’s or civilians that live on base? No outsiders can get treated?
@ active duty members, their families, and veterans. So all age groups
Did you work 5 12’s a week when you were doing 12 hour shifts??
We worked 4 days a week
What do you wear while doing this? When you’re not in scrubs are you in uniform?
Scrubs for inpatient days, OCPs for clinic & ER days
Hey did you know if you lose within during BMT ? Or anybody that has ?
It just depends on your body & the shape it’s in when you go. Some people lost weight, some gained weight (muscle)
You never mentioned what base you are at for this phase
I know :)
How did you score this job? I know medical jobs are hard to get in the airforce
it’s not the fact that they’re hard to get score wise, it’s more that everybody is trying to get them. Ima be honest there are 2 ways or getting it 1.just gotta get really lucky(like me i went to MEPS and about 2 weeks after i was informed that i got the job),2.have a have a recruiter who goes over the top and taps in everyday to make sure the job opens up(but you would have to wait a while until the job opens up)
