Okay goals: work my ass of in my not as fun college so I can afford to send my sister on something like this. She deserves it for working so hard even with all the ridiculous things she has to deal with.
This is actually nor bad. Normal college prices for upper class privileges. Same level of debt after graduating but hopefully some networking with the passengers on vacation can help get out of debt quicker.
THIS SOUNDS SO FUNNN And u get to go on a cruise with no one you know lol AND U DONT HAVE TO DO YOUR LAUNDRY AND THEY HAVE A NAIL/HAIR SALON OMG! I’ve decided where me and my friends are going!
Keira Nicole it’s not. Unless you’re going to an Ivy or Ivy League equivalent school you shouldn’t be paying 26000-30000 for one semester of your education without everything included in that price. Granted you’re also paying for a vacation so you could weigh the pros and cons I guess. If I had the money I’d definitely do it though.
Is it just learning about country's or do they also have college classes and what if you only wanted to take 1 to 2 classes, also what if you just wanted to take art, do they have an art class cuz if they do I'm sold.
Imagineee😂😂 Those life drawing classes though-- just drawing the sea constantly. You'd have to cellotape your work down tho, you wouldn't want the boat to rock and your wet painting to go flying across the room lmao
The course they off are broad in topic! But art is always offered in some form! A Drawing class and a photography class were offered my semester. And you do have a lot of work bc classes are accelerated but you don’t have classes meeting in-country. Most people just take 4 classes = 12 credits. A good semester for electives or gen. req. courses needed at your school.
it's actually a cool concept. If you wanted to study geography or the ocean you can go to this school but then go to a continued program that can get you some great jobs
I didn't even finished high school yet, and I already want to go on this program, I hope when it's time for me to attend college, this will be still available.
I did SAS and what nobody tells you is that the ship is populated by average or bellow average students. The Trip is great dont get me wrong but the questions you’ll hear asked in class are hilarious. Top colleges and universities dont accept class points from this program because academically it’s a joke. Ideally of you have $30k extra or get a scholarship it’s best to go with someone you already know. However if you are average as well you should be able to find friends easy.
Holay cow, checked out their website and the cabin fees of Emma's room is $28,999 this does not include other costs such as a fuel fee (I havnt looked up those costs). Schooling for super rich but some students may get scholarships financial support.

Cactus Jack I’ve been on a cruise 4 times and I know for a fact that it’s incredibly pretty but that ocean clearly looks unnatural it’s what you would see in an advert. Look closely it is clearly not a real sea despite how pretty it actually is.
@@natxshap Idk what to tell you girl, on every cruise I've been on the ocean has looked like this (except on the odd cloudy/rainy days), both on the Pacific or the Caribbean. So I really have no idea why you haven't had that experience. Not seeing the ocean like this on one cruise it's normal, but going to four cruises and never getting to see it like this? That's a lot of bad luck sis :/
With Semester at Sea program fees ranging from around $26,000 to $32,000 for room, board and tuition, the program is not cheap.
$32,000 per semester just in case you were wondering how rich we aren't
Holy jesus
More like $32k for half a semester
Actually aint too bad when you consider some private schools are like 60k a year.
It looks amazing, but one semester is the price of my entire 4 year Bachelors degree..
Same, definetely not my level
I'm in college now but this looks so fun.
I wish I was able to do this!
Semester at sea is for college students
@@althea6051 I didn't even realize the title. Damn, I'm dumb. I doubt my parents would let me.
It cost $30,000 u have money?
@@hanbulban3131 Definitely no
This looks so fun but I can’t stop thinking of titanic
Also it's probably terrible for environment.
Imagine what will happen Rose
Crazy how this was literally my dream in third grade watching suite life on deck and you can actually do this
when she says “you can do this” or “you can get this”, my money said no
I have conflicted emotions, it would be really cool, but the privilege is so much it’s almost cringe...
True 🗿
I KNOWWWW
I share the exact same opinion! The concept is great, but the execution (by which I mean the entitlement and privilege) just makes me want to throw up.
ansjovis Ruyters at least you’re not paying for it. Unlike the vomit-inducing entitlement exhibited by supporters of Democratic Party, who feel entitled to leech off the success of their fellow Americans.
@@14534 and even if I was paying this tremendous amount of money for one semester at a university (which I honestly can't justify spending, I'm so grateful tuition is muuuch cheaper in Scotland), please leave politics out of it. This is not a political discussion.

My older sister and brother both did semester at sea! I will also be continuing this tradition for my gap year this fall! Personally, I find this amazing experience to be very affordable and it’s really not that expensive at all.
Found the paid commenter
Ok, but wouldn’t it be cheaper to save up and go on a real cruise instead? Without exams and classes?
Nope someone did the math and a real cruise is much more expensive
For the length of this program, this is cheaper
U could go on an actual cruise for like years for 40k
looks fun! too bad i’m deathly afraid of open ocean and rogue waves :)
Stir Fry hah your not alone
Same
Personally, the 20k check scares more
Stir Fry tsunamis 😳😳😳
Imagine the tuition.
I'm good thanks.
su myeon
It’s around 20,000 for a semester😂
@@Whydtheyaddusernames are you kidding???? That's insane
@@Whydtheyaddusernames its actually 26k-32k depending on the room
B Q welcome to college. that’s a pretty normal tuition
@@davidr5029 i mean not for me! In Italy you don't pay anything near that
One semester (4 months) at this place basically has the same tuition fees as an entire year at NYU lmAooOoo!!! It’s 40k imma just cry in broke
Girl I wish NYU was only that much!! I worked so hard to get in but I can’t go because a full year tuition is 80k
meanwhile $25k for my whole degree in canada 🤣
Just go to a cheap state school. Employers literally don't care where you went, they care about experience.
Okay goals: work my ass of in my not as fun college so I can afford to send my sister on something like this. She deserves it for working so hard even with all the ridiculous things she has to deal with.
I can’t be the only one who sang the “Suite life on Deck” theme song during this
2:02 never would i thought a person would go to a group of strangers to sit with them when there's literally no one else at other tables
Wish I could relate but I’m very broke so
God damn, imagine how much you pollute just by getting education
This is actually nor bad. Normal college prices for upper class privileges. Same level of debt after graduating but hopefully some networking with the passengers on vacation can help get out of debt quicker.
I’m still only in Eighth Grade and I am already trying to figure out how to do this. I CAN’T WAIT!
THIS SOUNDS SO FUNNN
And u get to go on a cruise with no one you know lol
AND U DONT HAVE TO DO YOUR LAUNDRY
AND THEY HAVE A NAIL/HAIR SALON OMG!
I’ve decided where me and my friends are going!
yeah but wait till you hear the price lol
I mean people usually start college with not knowing anyone. You still get a roommate too, even tho the rooms are probably a lot smaller
xJess_ica the same price as college
Keira Nicole it’s not. Unless you’re going to an Ivy or Ivy League equivalent school you shouldn’t be paying 26000-30000 for one semester of your education without everything included in that price. Granted you’re also paying for a vacation so you could weigh the pros and cons I guess. If I had the money I’d definitely do it though.
Is it just learning about country's or do they also have college classes and what if you only wanted to take 1 to 2 classes, also what if you just wanted to take art, do they have an art class cuz if they do I'm sold.
Pzz0 16 it’s just like college but on a ship. Still required classes but it’s very relaxing with no distractions
Imagineee😂😂
Those life drawing classes though-- just drawing the sea constantly.
@@Chill_Deen The distraction is the fact that you're on a boat and away from home
Do you have $30,000? That’s the cost
3:06, imagine studying outside then a wind flushes your homework into the water so you have to do it again
The total cost for the semester at sea is around $41,000 not including ANY other expenses you'll have outside of school costs
Took a lucky guess that she was from Colorado before reading the description. Never been there either!
It’s so cool because everyone seems disconnected from the world.. not a lot of phones out it seems great
its probably because you have to pay for wifi
I mean it’s a 5 minute video, people probably put there phones away for filming.
“ I love to study on the deck”
*Huge gust of wind*
Nooooooooo my homework!!
My parents: So, which college do you want to go to?
Me: Lemme tell ya...
Wow. I wish I did this. In my senior year of college and haven’t traveled anywhere. This looks AMAZING
It looks like getting a subpar education while destroying the ocean and polluting the environment for one whole semester.
it's actually a cool concept. If you wanted to study geography or the ocean you can go to this school but then go to a continued program that can get you some great jobs
This literally made me go “This is the sweet life ou ou ou ou ou”
This is the real suite life on deck 😍 Now I miss my favorite characters lol London Tipton and Mr. Mosby
This is more of a vacation then a education!!!!! 😂
Wish they had this when I graduated high school, would have been something I would have jumped on real quick
They did, it's been around for years
@@orangeboy97 I graduated over 13 years ago
Did you have $30,000 to pay for this?

LaReina5150 That’s what I was thinking
I didn't even finished high school yet, and I already want to go on this program, I hope when it's time for me to attend college, this will be still available.
Did anybody else notice at 4:00 the couple sitting down are in their own world amidst seminar XD
Why do they have to pay for needs like laundry and food????
Keera Souliotis that’s what I’m saying! The food on the deck should be included for the price and so should the laundry
PB & Legz food is included, just snacks and candy and stuff you pay for
secret yes but would you only want to eat pb&j for 4 months
secret I mean like the grill foods and stuff, that should be included imo
wish i wasn’t broke
Dude I wish I could afford this. This is the dream!!!
It’s amazing how much stuff they can fit on there like a NAIL SALON See I would actually want to go to school
Have you seen the size of cruise ships? They’re like the size of a mall
When I’m rich this will be on my bucket list 😂

I’m actually very interested in this because I’m a big time cruiser. By any chance do u know if students can live in a balcony room?
I have a twin sister and I call dibs on being Cody if we ever stay here
Y’all should join the Navy! The sea time you get is like a vacation! Everyone in the USN will tell you how great it is
Hopefully will be joining spring 22 voyage!

When you dont want to be in a college full of poor peasants this is the place for you
If I came from money I’d definitely do something like this.
Holay cow, checked out their website and the cabin fees of Emma's room is $28,999 this does not include other costs such as a fuel fee (I havnt looked up those costs). Schooling for super rich but some students may get scholarships financial support.
