- How to fold a Turbo Flasher and then how to turn it into a Flasher Sword.
The intro and outro skits were the brainchild of my dear friend Miy'ala who co-wrote the script with me, and filmed and directed it too. The intro was filmed at King Jr. High School in Berkeley, CA, where I went to school as a child, and actually experienced some bullying in that very building where the intro and outro were filmed in front of. The glasses and the bow tie are each from square sheet of paper and I'll teach them soon. A Turbo Flasher is a variation of the Easy Flasher, but instead of whole paper wrapping around a square, it wraps around a one-unit line segment, so when you open it, the middle of the Turbo Flasher turns about twice as much as the middle of the Easy Flasher. In order to transform the Turbo Flasher into a Flasher Sword you have to undo the folds at two opposite corners, so it becomes part Vortex Flasher. Out of the two vortex flaps, one becomes the handle of the sword, and that is rather easy. The other vortex flap becomes the blade of the sword, but to form the blade of the sword you need to undo the reverse fold of one the vortex flaps and the wrap it all back up. That is the most difficult steps of the model! I slowed that part down to try to make it a little easier to follow, but I recognize it will still probably be challenging for most people. hey Jeremy, I loved this model. When I did the crossgaurds, 1 of them was pointed so I switched the top of the sword to a mountain crease and it turned out good🥰😍👍🏼

Man! I miss doing origami so much. Sadly, due to reasons, I stopped doing it. And now, I find it so hard to just get back into it 😭. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get back one day

I have a question Jeremy, about the part where you fold the 4 units and the 3 units. If I wanted to make the turbo flashwr 16x16, if I folded it, 8 units and 6 units, basically multiplying the units by twice, will it work and will it be a 16x16 flasher or is there another way, if there is, I would request you post it, I really like the turbo Flashers.

Will this flasher work if you double the grid of creases?

Theoretically it would work, but turbo flashers in general are more affected by the distortion of paper, so it would be difficult to double the grid of creases.

I made it with a 16x16 grid, didn't work out well. So i had some rips while doing it to collapse it and it got thick and made half way through the progress
maybe with thin tissue paper or tissue foil might work with a 16 x 16 grid or a 32 x 32 grid

Ha ha! You made me look! Ya it's a very tricky modular model that requires holding two unfolded papers at just the right angle to trick the eye into thinking that it's a flag. Make sure to move the papers apart very quickly so that the viewer isn't sure what they just saw and has to rewind and rewatch 10 times thereby alerting the Algorithm that this is a worthwhile video to suggest.

Yeah the part when you put it in slow motion is when I couldn’t do but i was still able to do the turbo flasher :)
