Take this with a massive grain of salt but depending on it's age I'd start with any electrolytic caps and replace with caps of the exact same value, and if that isn't the problem and it actually is the PSU--well then hey, free upgrade!
Yeah I think you're right and thanks! Caps are pretty cheap! I googled Wendell capacitor reputation and the first result was a list of ones to avoid. The other brand I have was on the same list... Capicon I think. The ESR on half of them was way over spec on a cheap tested so step one is a full swap!
@@winterturtle5764 with stuff like this I always go for the electrolytic caps first even if I haven't really troubleshot the board and anyway, it could only help haha. I'll be interested to hear if that makes a difference or not. Good luck!
