The emergency was for La county not the city of los angelas, currently its burning towards the north east.Live in this area for 60 plus years Have seen these fires over and over yes they make there own wind and can change direction ,but they do not double back where they already burned. On top of that everything west burnt out in the last 4 years no fuel for it to go west

God, clearly this person doesn’t know much about geography in the Southern California area because this person isn’t from SoCal. I am and I can speak the truth about this. The Airport Fire is the one closest located to me and it’s in Orange County, which is a good margin southeast of L.A but yet is involved in the Los Angeles Metro Area for geographically-challenged people to know where it is. Burning in the Santa Ana Mountains, which are a good 45-50 miles southeast of the city and then it spread further into Riverside County and the town of Lake Elsinore, which most people not living in SoCal don’t know where it is. Then, you have the Bridge Fire, which is occurring in the San Gabriel Mountains in L.A County. That one is closer to Los Angeles and it was the most recent one to start. Then, you have the Line Fire, which was the first fire in this string of fires that we have going on and it’s all the way in San Bernardino County. So, three fires thankfully all spaced out going on at the same time in the biggest megatropolis area in the nation. Got it? And here’s the thing about fires in California and everywhere else: they occur in areas with hills, trees and mountain ranges. If you’re in lower elevation, you are less likely to deal with a dangerous natural-caused fire. So, for most people in SoCal, we live in the lowlands and not in the hills. Those who do, I feel sorry for. But that’s their decision to live close to nature and its many dangers, as we’ve seen with repetitive fire seasons. I would highly recommend doing research on locations in SoCal before putting them under the same umbrella of Los Angeles, because it really helps people know where the fires are actually occurring.
Something like spending 2 - 3 $Mn for beachfront property in Florida . They are only "renting" their homes from their landlord - The Atlantic Ocean . Eviction at anytime . A week's notice with no appeal process .
I remember back 16-17 years ago and was in San Diego being a residential navy. Grandma and the whole place was surrounded by fires. No flights left or came in evacuation routes were unattainable. We were in the city. We weren’t touched by fire, but it was something I never want to experience again I pray and I thank you very much.🥰 I pray for all the lives that are in the line of this fire, both victims and rescue attempts. Agreed with this, it happens because they don;t learn from past experiences. Rebuilding in the same areas, not controlling scrub and tinder undergrowth, and many do not even have a survival plan. They need to go to regenerative farming, build swales and plant effective water plants around the borders . Also clear access for roads, do not live in a one way street/road as many do. I feel sorry for those that have had this occur to them, I lost a house, in 1984 to fires, got my animals out, and learnt a hell of a lot of what not to do again.
We know rich people lives in California in big mansions. My question to the cities building departments is, why they don’t change the building code to use high fire resistance materials which resists the fire and can slow the fire spread. Also since these fires are becoming everyday phenomena, why not put Fire walls at least around the mention which can protect the properties and also check the Fire spread. I know everything cost money , but still it is a better deal so save the property than to loose everything. Remember in last year fire in Movii( in the island near Hawaii) the whole city burned but there was one house, stood firm and was the only house resisted the fire and remained untouched. Los Angeles county is huge, and the Airport fire is really far south from the city of Los Angeles in Orange County in south OC. The line fire is in San Bernardino County, county about 50 miles east of LA. The Bridge fire being the closest is also in San Bernardino county and LA county to the north east of LA. LA has an off shore flow right now which is keeping the smoke blowing to the east. Fire is a natural part of the forest ecosystem. Unfortunately the department of forest management has neglected our forests for decades letting decades of growth and vegetation build but not burn. So when a wild fire breaks out this is the consequences. Huge uncontrollable devastation.

The fall and winter season is around the corner. Any significant moisture will create mud slides all over the hills of the burned areas.
We have these 3 big fires in the state but not in Los Angeles.

These fires are being caused on purpose by someone. Lightning strikes don't continuously cause this.
