Let's be honest, Jauan Jennings deserves a long-term deal. Hopefully, it will be with us. Real 49er fans know this to be true. I can't see why they won't do 3 years. Dude almost won us the Superbowl.

@clintondarnell5318 This will be his 2nd 1 year contract. Some players get offended when they prove their worth at a 7th round contract and don't get the big contract.
We might be able to pay him once Deebo is gone but the $ is tight with Aiyuk and Purdy on deck

So, they would be willing to sign a 3rd/4th string TE for 3y/12m, but not the same for a proven, loyal team mate.

Why would a player sign a tender while other teams can still make an offer? It makes sense for him to wait out that period until he's exhausted options. Even if he wants to stay, getting an offer is negotiating leverage. Drafting Pearsall is an indication they aren't keeping him long term, and Jennings knows that. If he gets an offer he's probably gone.
A long term extension for a WR3 would be crazy 😂

Why in the world are Ward and Kittle recovering from surgery? They had 4 months when this could have been done they wait till right before OTA’s?
As of the league meetings in mid-March, they already had the surgery. If you would simply google the recovery time for an abdominal core surgery it’s 3-12wks and that’s just for regular ppl like you. Now think about it in terms of having to put your body through a car accident every week. They can still review the playbook without having to be there for VOLUNTARY OTAs

It’s very obvious that the Center position has to be upgraded. As stated Center is the reason Brock was off on his throw to Aiyuk in the end zone. Brock had to jump in order to get the ball over the head of the rusher who was up in his face.
I sure hope the rookie bears out Brendal.
If you are talking about Aiyuk in the endzone during OT, then the center was not the problem. It was the right guard Burford, who didn't stay on his assignment. And that play was meant for Jennings as explained in the pressers.

I love Jennings. Hope he stays but it reminds me of a situation in Madden Franchise Mode where the #3/4 guy on my roster is good enough to be a WR2 or battle for WR1 elsewhere and I gotta bite the bullet and trade him for a draft pick. Dude is a dog. He'll be great wherever he goes
