is the middle screw thats screwed in the middle on top of the home buttom important for the home buttom to work ?
DON’T USE GLUE to replace the home button. More chance to rip the flexcable on next repair or screen replacement. The bracket will hold the button in place.

Hello, good video ,,, I have a question, the flexor of the start button but not the one in the button itself that is on the screen if not the one that connects to the phone block next to the battery, screen ,, The question is what type of connection is the part that connects to the metal plate of the screen, I have it loose (when manipulating it has been released) at that point, in the flexor itself I do not see anything that indicates a connection of any kind And if I see on the metal plate the imprint of the flexor itself as if it had been stuck to it, a very strange thing, I don't know how to solve this problem, could you help me? Hello i have a question, i replace my iphone 7 home button but i forgot to remove ng connection of battery , lcd , camera , and i installed the home button but when it finish it doesnt work , theres a affect that i forgot to remove the connections?
So I have a iPhone 8 that one of my friend gave me but it is rose gold with a white face and home button. I don’t like it and want to do a switch over to black. Meaning that the home button will have to be replaced as well. ReadinSg the description for a new one. It has a disclaimer stating this replacement is for decoration only and it won’t function on my 8. Am I reading this wrong or is this true? If so is there any other way around it. Please if any one has some solutions to my problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you change to black the home button will not work at all. You would have to use the on screen one. Stick to what you have or buy a black 8.

Not necessary but you can damage the screen and you can use hair dryer also

Hi... i have an iphone 7 plus and i accidentally broke the touch id flex cabel... in my country no body can fix it so i am going to try to fix it my self ... and i think i have ripped the area there pin 1,2,3 and 4 are .. i know how to do everything else but i need help in finding out where to attach the jumpers from pin1,2,3 and 4 so can you help me??

You can't change the home button, it need to be the one originally with the motherboard, oterwise wont work

Hi, I've damaged my fingerprint scanner while applying heat to open and change the battery in my iphone7. I've read that changing the sensor doesn't fix the fingerprint reader problem. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thx
Fingerprint scanner is only possible if you buy new motherboard with matching touch-id sensor(fingerprint scanner). Otherwise only a 3usd home button without touch-id.
you probably damaged the cable of the screen, the one which connects the touch id with the motherboard

if you came here after replacing the battery or screen and your home button stopped working, you've probably damaged the ribbon for the home button thats attached to the back of the screen. Try replacing the screen again or soldering on a new ribbon. New screens are 25$ on ebay and come with the new ribbon so its less hassle than soldering UNLESS you have an original apple screen then its worth just soldering on a new ribbon. The chinese screens are of questionable quality.

you can replace the home button , it will function as home button only and not touch ID -
When replacing an iPhone 7 home button. If deems the home button completely useless. It will not function at all. With the iPhone 6 and 6 plus if you replaced theirs then you would only have home button use only. But with the 7 and 7 plus it is not possible to replace yourself. And have a functioning button as an end result. Only an apple store can replace a iPhone 7/7 plus and have a functional end product
You have to take it to an Apple certified store/Apple Certified 3rd party store ONLY. I had my screen replaced & my home button & Touch ID doesn’t work anymore. I called Apple & they told me to take it to my Best Buy(Apple Certified in my area) & have them switch out the whole screen as home button comes with Home button. Haven’t done it yet but they said it’s possible. Also, if you have an actual APPLE STORE near you, they can recalibrate the home button to Make it work, I’ll see if Best Buy is able to do that instead.
Yeah well done, this gives no help as to how to rectify the home button touch problem - merely a disassemble and reassemble.

This video is a joke? There was no failed Touch ID that I saw, you did nothing to fix Touch ID and you even out the metal plate over the front facing camera connections on upside down. You’re going to cause people to further damage their phones.
